Storyline

Shot on the streets of LIC, Queens; "La Maestra" tells the story of a woman called Nina, who due to her inability to remain faithful and monogamous in her marriage, loses her husband and son. "La Maestra", which in fact represents seasoned actress Nico Martinez' film directorial debut, won the Best Short Film Award/2015 at the WCC Film Festival in Peekskill, NY, USA; as well as the Best Fiction Drama Film Award/2015 at The 4th Annual Viking Film Festival. Besides these recognitions, this short film was also part of the Official Selection into the Latino Film Fest 2015 in Peekskill, NY; and in the same manner was selected into the Film Fest 52 produced by the organizers of Connecticut Film Festival (CTFF) and The Bethel Film Festival (BFF) in partnership with The Bethel Cinema.
