Flippin' Fuhrman, man . . .
Mr-Fusion5 April 2017
No more attention on the jury this week; in fact, I'm pretty sure they're completely absent. No, this is a war fought entirely between prosecution and defense. Tensions come to a head between all parties: Darden and Clark, amongst the Dream Team, inside Garcetti's office, and especially - especially - between Darden and Cochran; that face-off has been brewing for ages.

This is a story that's completely unpredictable. The defense is (once again) able to distract focus from the defendant and onto Mark Fuhrman, a man who's unequivocally screwed the prosecution's case and even makes Ito a pivotal character (now there's a plot twist).

For me, this is the show at its best. The performances are great all around, the story's as absorbing as it gets, and the stakes are sky-high. It is a powder keg. I don't think I was ever as interested in the actual trial (or news coverage) as I am about this show.

And here's the kicker: once Fuhrman actually takes the stand, the scumbag delivers the episode's biggest bombshell, and never even utters an epithet. Geez, what an ending.

Wow... Just mindblowing.

Warning: Spoilers
First and foremost, I, vaguely familiar with the history of this case, knew this episode will be a big turnover. But I still didn't expected how big of a turnover it would be.

Whatever you think of O.J. guild or innocence, this episode was more than that. Prior to this episode I thought that tapes were just a collection of 'n' world sayed by Furhman that didn't have much of a meaning except that using them was a perjury (it is just a world, right? Nothing harmful about that). But the context was WAY, WAY WORSE.

I am not the biggest advocate of political correctness and I think can take a lot, but all of replayed on these tapes was almost physically painful experience. How can this man be taken even a bit seriously and even be invited to Fox News is a big question-mark. I am glad that this series showed him in a full light and didn't make him victim and I hope this will worsen his public perception.

Anyway, this episode was the best so far in terms of screen writing and drama, I am looking forward for the finale episode.

Absolutely Gripping

Warning: Spoilers
This show has been very good so far but episode 9 really takes it all to an entire new level. I was on the edge of my seat watching this one. As we near the finale of the court case and the season, unexpected twists come at us from every angle.

You can just feel the energy, the tension as you watch this episode transpire. The score for this episode is atmospheric, causing the viewer to feel stressed, tensed, and worried as the trial continues on, the city abuzz in a fervor. The characters are at their breaking point and the actors perform wonderfully in this episode. It's tense, it's gritty, it's everything I've been looking for in this series and this episode finally delivers to the viewer the full package.

The Highlight of the Series

The People vs O.J. Simpson: Manna from Heaven (2016)

The defense, the D.A. and Judge Ito learns that star witness Mark Fuhrman recorded an audio tape where there's some very bad stuff said that will effect that outcome of the trial.

To say this is the best episode in an already great series would be an understatement. The Fuhrman moment stands out in regards to the original trial and there's no doubt that the screenwriters, the director and the producers knew that this would make the most dramatic moment for the series and they milk the Fuhrman stuff for every inch of drama that they can. They might milk the drama but it's perfectly done and leads to some of the most intense and dramatic moments of the series and you might argue it made for some of the best acting you'll see from any series period.

As this series winds down it's becoming clear that there's some of the greatest casting that you're ever going to witness. Everyone really gets to show off their talents as an actor here including a heartfelt performance by Sterling K. Brown as Darden and we even get to see a different type of emotion from John Travolta and Courtney B. Vance. Even Sarah Paulson gets to show off a new side to the character.

If you remember the real moment in time when Fuhrman took the stand then you know how captivating it was. This episode perfectly captures that but adds so much more with everything that was going on behind-the-scenes. Now I do question the authenticity of a few things here but this is a docu-drama and not a documentary.

Episode: A+

He Ended Up at Fox News....Really!
Hitchcoc20 February 2017
Probably the best episode of the entire series. It is the Mark Furhman episode. A woman calls the Cochran team and tells them that Furhman had done an interview that was transcribed by a woman writing a screenplay where he not only uses the "N" word but tells in detail what he has done to black people as a police officer. He is filled with hatred. Of course, he perjured himself. When put on the stand, he pled the Fifth. The reaction to this guy turns things into a bigger circus than it already was. People carried posters of him with a Hitler mustache. There is another kicker. He has extensive comments about his hatred of Lance Ito's wife. This puts a lot in Ito's ballpark, having to make decisions where his wife was involved.

To Talk on Race is also Racism... Let's Talk on Universal Services and Friendship!
hamidullahgenc4 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The unspeakable act has seen sun light yet... Mark Fuhrman, who is currently commentator for Fox News, had left a trace leading to a collective conspiracy, no; collective hate which had allegedly been going on for some time without a solid proof...

Alright, not every LAPD officer could be said to be racist; but this one person, as it was screened, could play a huge role in all these that concerned and led O.J. Simpson case to close as "not guilty" verdict!

The episode opened so well showing TV shows like O.J. trial is the only news worthy of watching in the USA. Why is that?.. We mean, it is so cast away a country that it's largest problems are either health care, or crime inside the country... Not like the Middle East where people gets killed for oils either by their own countrymen or by the imperialist forces outside...

Therefore, this racial dissimulation and hypocrisy in the USA against the black people, as shown in the episode, could keep the whole USA occupied and cloud the judgement of both sides...

The thing is, the verdict may not satisfy any side. If O.J. found not guilty, then the matter may not be revealed as to who killed Mr. Ron and Ms. Nicole for sure. But if O.J. is convicted, then the system may have imprisoned an innocent person as Mark Fuhrman, the key witness, had messed it up by having grudge against all the black people to the extent of having genocidal thoughts and deceiving the court about it.

To have and to hold cannot necessitate the skin colour as well as sentence it to a certainty. So the protesters most of whom are of black people takes it to the streets... This is a national matter now.

Overall, the show simulates it all very well not showing violence but keeping us on the edge. So clever!

I give this episode a "9,4." Yep!..

"O ye who have believed! Be steadfast witnesses for Allah in equity, and let not hatred of any people seduce you that ye deal not justly. Deal justly, that is nearer to your duty. Observe your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Informed of what ye do." (Chapter: 5 "The Table spread with Food", Verse: 8)

This Verse of the Gracious Koran alone says it all. Amen.
