The scene where Tommy introduces the new men was filmed at the Black Country Museum in Dudley. The canal and houses are real while the factory backdrop in CG. You can walk all around the area featured.

Goofs
In the final scene before the raid, Michael's in a shirt and waistcoat before Polly takes the money from him. A close up shows him wearing a suit jacket as she takes the money. Later scenes show him in a shirt and waistcoat again.
