A year and a half ago, it was announced that Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner – who both have experience working in the Scream franchise, as Fitzgerald was in the Scream TV series and Gallner appeared in the 2022 Scream movie – were set to star in the “cat and mouse thriller” Strange Darling. Now we know when we’re going to have a chance to see this movie, as Variety has confirmed that veteran producer Bob Yari’s new company Magenta Light Studios has secured the U.S. distribution rights to the film and they’re planning to give it a wide theatrical release on August 23rd.
Plot details on this thriller are being kept under wraps, and Variety notes that reviews from audience members who saw the movie at Fantastic Fest last year ” hint that the film works best with as little information as possible going in.” Apparently it has something...

The following contains spoilers for Scrambled.
This article references pregnancy loss.
Scrambled is a dramedy inspired by director, writer, and star Leah McKendrick's personal experience of going through the process of egg-retrieval. The film reflects McKendrick's decision to freeze her eggs and addresses themes of personal growth and reflection. McKendrick's script struck a chord with other professional women in Hollywood who had also gone through the procedure, resulting in the film receiving a larger budget and backing from Lionsgate.
Scrambled is a tour-de-force by Leah McKendrick, who directed, wrote, and starred in the film, but is it based on real life? Scrambled comes after McKendrick penned the script for M.F.A. and appeared in films like Bad Moms and The Turkey Bowl. Justin Hartley appears in A Bad Moms Christmas as Ty, an exotic dancer and love interest for Carla. Ty's role in the movie shows the competitive and dysfunctional relationship between Carla and her mother. Hartley's performance as Ty is winning and his dancing sequences add to the absurd tone of the film.
Justin Hartley appears in A Bad Moms Christmas and the actor has some thoughts about his memorable performance. A Bad Moms Christmas is the 2017 sequel to the original 2016 Bad Moms film that stars a talented trio of comedic actresses in Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn. The two films are unique in that, underneath the raunchy comedy aspects, they are honest movies about what it's like being a mom in the modern world. Adam Fogelson is replacing Joe Drake as chair of Lionsgate’s motion picture group.
Drake reportedly initiated the transition and will be working with Fogelson over the coming months on succession plans. Drake, who was named co-chair of Lionsgate in 2017, will be leaving the company. He’s departing after leading the studio to its first billion-dollar year since 2019, thanks to commercial winners like “John Wick: Chapter 4” and “Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”
“Despite unprecedented disruption over the last few years, we built a team that thrived throughout and achieved everything I could have imagined at Lionsgate,’ Drake said in a statement. “Having worked side by side with Adam for the past 18 months, he is the perfect choice to lead the motion picture group forward to even greater heights.”

Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake is exiting the studio. He’ll hand the reins to Adam Fogelson, who formerly lead both Universal Pictures and STX Motion Picture Group; Fogelson joined Lionsgate’s film group in 2022 as vice chair. Drake returned to Lionsgate in 2017 after starting Good Universe Pictures, which Lionsgate acquired from Drake. Lionsgate has tapped Adam Fogelson to succeed Joe Drake as chair of its movie division.
It’s understood Drake initiated the transition as he works with Fogelson — currently vice chair of the Motion Picture Group and overseeing the worldwide marketing and theatrical distribution — over the coming months to ensure a smooth succession.
Former STX Film chief Fogelson joined Lionsgate in September 2022 and reported to Drake, chair of the studio’s Motion Picture Group. His move to Lionsgate followed the Hollywood studio exploring a possible takeover of STX, a deal that didn’t come to pass.
Drake rejoined Lionsgate in 2017 after running Good Universe Pictures, the second company acquired by Lionsgate from Drake. He reentered a studio different from the one he left in 2012, as Lionsgate had moved beyond its hit Hunger Games and Twilight franchises to leverage a diversified portfolio of film and TV properties across multiple platforms, especially after acquiring Starz.

R-rated Christmas movies offer a break from traditional holiday cheer and embrace deranged killer Santas and raunchy humor. Some R-rated Christmas movies, like "Bad Moms Christmas" and "The Ref," explore dysfunctional families and offer a humorous take on holiday discontent. In addition to classics like "Die Hard," newer R-rated Christmas films like "Violent Night" and "The Night Before" provide dark humor and action-packed entertainment.
While they are mostly family-friendly fare, there are also some highly rated and beloved Rated-r Christmas movies. Christmas is mostly a time for family and friends, and the movies that mostly come during the holidays range from kids' movies to romantic comedies and films about Santa Claus, elves, and tidings of good cheer. However, for many people, it is also a time for deranged killer Santa Clauses, raunchy R-rated humor, and a great deal of holiday discontent among people who would rather be anywhere than at home for Christmas.

Kathryn Hahn is one of the most versatile actresses working today. From comedic turns in movies like Bad Moms (which we deserve more of) and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery to more dramatic ones in shows like I Know This Much Is True and Transparent, delicious villains in comic book projects like WandaVision and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to complex women in indie films like Afternoon Delight and Private Life (which she should have gotten an Oscar nomination for), she can do it all. This range came in handy for her role of Clare in the dramedy miniseries Tiny Beautiful Things, for which she’s nominated for an Emmy — her third nomination overall and her first for a leading role.

Review: If you are a fan of Bill Burr’s stand-up comedy, you likely know what you are in for with Old Dads. Burr’s directorial debut is an amalgam of his observations and rants from his twenty-plus years as a comedian told through the fictional story of a trio of fifty-year-olds dealing with generational change. On the heels of a year that has seen semi-autobiographical films starring comedians like Burt Kreischer and Sebastian Maniscalco and the series Bupkis with Pete Davidson, Old Dads is a fictional story that relies heavily on Burr’s sense of humor. “Old Dads,” a Netflix comedy about three middle-aged dads in Los Angeles, each trying to deal with the delayed pleasures and perils of fatherhood, sounds like a Hollywood satire to watch along with “Bad Moms,” or maybe the sort of broad burlesque of child-rearing that would star someone like John Cena. Actually, though, it’s not that sort of movie. It was directed and co-written by Bill Burr, who also stars in it, and it’s been spun out of the kind of prickly incorrect observations that are the hallmark of Burr’s stand-up comedy — and also the kind of squirm comedy that powers his anthology series “Immoral Compass.” “Old Dads” isn’t nearly as good as “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” but at times it feels like three episodes of that show jammed together — that is, if Larry David were a Gen-x firecracker whose anger-management issues make Larry look like a pussycat.

WandaVision is arguably the best MCU TV series in Disney+. The show manages to connect the superhero genre with sitcoms to create the ultimate grieving metaphor. As Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) accesses her full powers, she creates the fictional town of Westview to live an idyllic sitcom life with her late lover, Vision (Paul Bettany).
WandaVision makes the audience laugh, cry, and follow Wanda's pain throughout a perfectly balanced series that shows what the MCU could become if they delved deeper into the psyche of their characters. With the fantastic portrayals of Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, the show became one of the most exciting superhero shows in recent years.

Pop a bottle of Prosecco and get ready to shake your money-maker because Lionsgate is partnering with STX to develop scripted TV series inspired by Jennifer Lopez’s Hustlers and the raunchy 2016 comedy Bad Moms. The plan to put both projects into development is part of a new distribution deal between STXfilms and Lionsgate, the companies announced on Wednesday.
The Hustlers and Bad Moms TV series projects are in the early stages of development, and there is no word if the original cast or crew members will return for the episodic versions of either property.
Released in 2016, Bad Moms stars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn as three overworked and under-appreciated moms pushed beyond their limits. After succumbing to exhaustion, they ditch their conventional responsibilities for a jolt of long-overdue freedom, fun, and comedic self-indulgence. The first film to be released under the new deal is “The Marsh King’s Daughter,” a thriller starring Daisy Ridley and directed by Neil Burger. Lionsgate will now jointly release the film with Roadside Attractions on October 6.

Under this new deal, Lionsgate will handle marketing and distribution for future STX theatrical releases in North America. It will also distribute the company’s 75-title library across all platforms and will include the development of several scripted TV series based on popular titles from STX’s library, including “Bad Moms” and “Hustlers.”
The first motion picture under this agreement will be “The Marsh King’s Daughter.” Roadside Attractions joined the two studios to announce that the film will debut exclusively in theaters by Roadside on October 6.
“Theatrical exhibition continues to be essential to our company, and that’s especially true for movies like ‘The Marsh King’s Daughter’ and its director, Neil Burger, with whom we had such a fantastic success with ‘The Upside,'” said STX Entertainment CEO Noah Fogelson.

If the Barbenheimer match-up between Barbie and Oppenheimer feels a little familiar to you, it's because director Christopher Nolan already experienced this phenomenon 15 years ago.
On July 18, 2008, Nolan released The Dark Knight, a film that would eventually go on to arguably become the best comic book movie of all time. On that very same weekend, the songs of Abba also dominated multiplexes when the movie adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Mamma Mia! hit the big screen.
The movies couldn't be more opposite to one another, but the big takeaway from that weekend, much like the one we're seeing right now with Barbie and Oppenheimer, is that counter-programming can lead to big box office results for both films in question. Counter-programming is usually a conscious strategy employed when two very different movies are put out to the public simultaneously to avoid much of a fight for box office dollars.

Jennifer Lawrence's new movie No Hard Feelings is a massive box office test for the star actress and R-rated comedies based on the last eight years of data. No Hard Feelings represents Jennifer Lawrence's first foray into doing a true comedy after spending the last several years establishing herself as one of the biggest names in Hollywood. She has mastered everything from awards-worthy dramas like her Oscar-winning performance in Silver Linings Playbook to leading major franchises like the Hunger Games movies. Now, she is set up for what is arguably Jennifer Lawrence's biggest box office test yet.
As the main character and biggest star among No Hard Feelings' cast, Sony has invested a lot of money into making Jennifer Lawrence's R-rated comedy, hoping it will be a massive theatrical hit. It's an understandable bet to make with a star like her considering she's headlined 10 movies that have made at least $100 million domestically,...

After the sitcom ended in 2006, the cast of That '70s Show went on to have long and successful careers. That '70s Show follows the life of Eric Forman, a regular teen in Wisconsin in the 1970s, and the antics of growing up in that groovy decade. The series was unique because it combined the typical tropes of classic sitcoms with a modern twist, and cleverly paid homage to the time period that it was based in. As a result, That '70s Show was nostalgic for those who remembered the '70s, and for those who enjoyed the show as it was airing in the '90s and early-'00s.
Like most sitcoms, That '70s Show lived and died by its cast, and the stars of the show would all go on to have extremely successful careers in TV and movies. The show allowed the audience to grow up along with...

The ongoing Hollywood writers’ strike casts a cloud over what otherwise promises to be a solid Cannes film market. Most buyers and sellers came out of Berlin this year “cautiously optimistic” as the (partial) resurgence of the theatrical market alongside a slowly but steadily growing digital ancillary business offers reason to believe reports of the death of the indie industry — widespread in the wake of the Covid theater shutdowns — have been greatly exaggerated.
“I see the investment by Amazon and Apple TV in the theatrical business as a real positive,” says David Garrett of Mister Smith Entertainment, “because it shows they recognize the real value of the theatrical experience.” Amazon’s success with Ben Affleck’s sports-marketing biopic Air, which grossed upwards of $80 million worldwide in theaters before going out online, bodes well for the upcoming rollout of Apple’s Cannes title Killers of the Flower Moon from Martin Scorsese,...

Led by Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis, the Hall Pass cast features some acclaimed actors playing the film’s zany comic characters. Directed by the Farrelly brothers, Hall Pass revolves around two men who have become disillusioned with married life and are granted “hall passes” by their wives, freeing them of all marital obligations for one week. It’s a cross between a sex romp like Wedding Crashers and a comedy about middle age like This is 40. From the lead characters’ wives to their group of friends to the various single women they try to pick up, the Hall Pass cast has plenty of memorable supporting players.
While Hall Pass was initially met with mixed reviews from critics when it was released in 2011, it became a modest box office success (via Box Office Mojo). Wilson and Sudeikis anchor the movie with palpable on-screen chemistry as a pair of best friends,...

Freaks and Geeks barely lasted one season. But the majority of the Freaks and Geeks cast was a close-knit crew that worked hard. Maybe it was their naivete or youth, but the ensemble cast was really something special to watch.

Before becoming famous for playing Jackie Burkhart on That '70s Show, Mila Kunis appeared in one episode of the soap opera Days of Our Lives. The actor was 11 years old when she played a role in an episode that aired in 1994. Days of Our Lives premiered on NBC in 1965 and moved to Peacock in 2022, and throughout more than 14,000 episodes, characters from two memorable families living in Salem have experienced the traditional plotlines of the genre, from dramatic marriages to someone suffering from memory loss. Several other famous actors have also starred on Days of Our Lives, including Andrea Barber, Vivica A. Fox, and Jensen Ackles.
Kunis has had a fascinating career, as she has played unforgettable characters in dark movies, from Lily in the 2010 thriller Black Swan to Ani FaNelli in the cast of 2022's Luckiest Girl Alive. However, her comedic roles are just as memorable, including relatable parent Amy Mitchell in Bad Moms.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis went from playing teenage first loves Kelso and Jackie on "That '70s Show" to being married with two kids. But their path to finding love off screen wasn't exactly straightforward. In fact, Kutcher and Kunis's relationship timeline was full of twists early on - including Kutcher's marriage to Demi Moore and a brief period where they tried being friends with benefits.
While Kutcher and Kunis first met in 1998, the two didn't become romantically involved until they reconnected in 2012 after the former's split from Moore. The Master of Comedy, Mel Brooks, is back to take another swipe at some of history’s most iconic figures and events with History of the World, Part II.
