A Mess
linearattack14 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Actually, its turn out to be great at first hours, but the ending and plot holes ruined it all. The ending is just no more than a mess, what was the director thinking? Maybe they lost the spirit or money during filming and just find another cheap solution and dump it all.

This adaptation should never been filmed, if it should end like that. It kills the character development and just pointless. The last 20 minutes is just a disaster and nonsense. But I really thought it was doing great before that, so I should give it a 4 rating for good first hour and for its nonsense 20 minutes which ruined the entire story.

This movie should have give us more thrilling and meaning rather than a disaster.

Just a long dragged out TV Episode... Boring.
pinokiyo7 March 2017
Ugh. This film is just torturous. It feels like a regular TV drama episode dragged out to become a movie.

The concept is nothing new with having "deja vu/time travel/groundhog day", I knew that going in, but I was interested how they would differentiate with that concept from others, but this film is just a mess/all over the place/snorefest and takes so much time on the most mundane boring scenes. I was waiting the whole time thinking the movie would get better, but it didn't. The film doesn't even take the "Deja vu" concept much at all - it's so poorly done.

Maybe the first few minutes of the film seemed like it was going somewhere, but after he goes back to his childhood, it's just a major snorefest downhill from there. It never gets better and the ending is the worst.

It spends way too much on this sappy drama of being in childhood, befriending/preventing a classmate from being abused.

The biggest problem is it's never explained how he got this supernatural power and how exactly it works - it just happens conveniently whenever it wants to. I can suspend some disbelief, but when there is no basic set of rules or anything laid out, the film becomes weak and boring.

If you really want to watch a film about deja vu/time travel, watch: Butterfly Effect, Frequency, Predestination, Groundhog Day, Source Code, Edge of Tomorrow, Looper.

I believe this film is also based on an anime. I really don't care for anime and maybe it works as a comic book, but the pacing of this film is just super dragged out and it's just not exciting at all.

The lamest part of all is how much mumble jumble boring exposition of them telling instead of just showing it.

I'm giving it an extra star just because Kasumi Arimura is super cute. That's all.
