A few changes could've made this great

The movie has great footage and interviews yet the structure and the VO really make this a 5 when it could've been an 8 easily.

Open Question
rdw-3154428 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Why wasn't he drafted? A decent documentary that doesn't clearly answer that basic question. Was it his reconstructed shoulder? His SAT score? An ability to score points but unable or unwilling to play defense? The documentary shows a young man who has good character. No drugs. No gangs. No crime problems. There were enough people who knew Cotton when he was growing up to speak about his exceptional size and basketball talent. However, the constant college movement from school to school as a player indicates some type of problem.

This documentary should have met with knowledge people from the NBA who could have answered the question. Why wasn't he drafted?

Solid Basketball Documentary

I would certainly recommend this Doc for all basketball fans. I do vaguely remember Schea Cotton, and when this showed up on Amazon video, I figured I'd give it a watch. The story is presented well, and doesn't go overboard with the dramatic. It's a cautionary tale about the pitfalls of being a basketball legend. If you are a basketball fan, you will definitely like this documentary.

The doc feels cheaply made, lacks research.

The music is incredibly cringy and on the nose.

The doc feels cheaply made, lacks research.

I'm not the sure story is that interesting anyway, it's obvious that ESPN would have picked this up as a 30 for 30 of there was any substance to it at all.

If you played ball in the '90's you know Cotton

Warning: Spoilers
I grew up around this time and had cut outs of Cotton on my bedroom wall in Vancouver. Kid was a myth to me and seeing that this documentary had been made was amazing. Always wondered what happened to him. This is definitely a cautionary tale and tragic. Hard to pin point where it all went wrong but he may have made the show and had a career like Harold Minor aka baby Jordan. Wonderful to see that he is using his god given talent to encourage, teach and mentor the next generation. Worth the watch.
