A little bit of everything
crashmatilda28 November 2016
Dream Corp is unlike anything on Adult Swim, which is saying a lot. The show tries to do a lot in 11 minutes, although it's billed as a comedy first. It can have a lot of fun with characters during their animated 'dream therapy', i.e. watching a conservative old lady let loose and give the bird to her family members. The comedy during live-action sequences isn't as impressive: save for secretary Joey who is hilarious by nature, the staff members don't make memorable characters.

However the meat of the show is psychedelic and nightmarish. The rotoscoped animation is great, rotoscoping is a really under-appreciated technique. Plus the live-action set has great lighting and feels very unique. And on top of all this Dream Corp tries to express some of the patients' deeper issues. The problem is that these issues can be pretty ambiguous, and the abstract animation does little to help. When a patient is diagnosed effectively, the insane dream sequences make sense, it's rewarding, and it makes me want to re-watch the episode straight away. Other times it's just played for laughs, like how a woman is almost cured of OCD before being tranquilized from off- screen, which is obviously not rewarding.

Overall though I think the show is a winner. The rotating cast are all memorable, the structure of each episode is great and the mix of realism and absurd-ism works surprisingly well. If the show were half an hour it would make a bit more sense, but late-night TV isn't really supposed to make sense.

Visually Bewildering Thematically Engaging
tomballard-639984 January 2019
The tone is somewhat absurdist, with world building being incidental, but the character exploration is both crass when Dr Roberts simplifies but nuanced and subtle with both visuals and occasional insight from the qualified intern. The show is unlike anything else, with little coherence and I think intentionally so. What the show is about and what happens is less important than the experience, or maybe it's not.... it's a mess, a beautiful mess. Enjoy it however you want.

Cream of the crop

This is close to the best show I've seen since perhaps Firefly. The only one which edges it out would be The Expanse. I really like the nostalgic feel to it, even though it's still set in a modern timeline the various blends this show takes on is fantastic.

I don't expect most people to "get" this show, it takes a particularly warped mind to appreciate the art & sci-fi blend. It's right up my alley, and I expect the show to have a cult following for many years after it's inevitably cancelled. Hopefully we get a few more seasons yet.

Wow! What a FUN Show!
omarhussain200112 November 2018
This is an amazing, fun, witty, entertaining, rollercoaster ride, crazy, funny to the highest, weird as all get out, and mind bending at the same time. The "psychedelic" dream sequences are nuts! I like how there are different guests in each episode, but I wish each show was more than just a few minutes each. If you like Dr. Who with a crazy, nutty, odd, dorky twist, then this is a must watch for you. You will love this show.

A really good idea but...
mhennessy-6650315 February 2017
It seems very short. I would like it to be 20 minutes, because it is very confusing to digest all of it within 10. The show itself looks like a very original idea, and i love the trippy animations and the whole idea of the therapy, but it is just so confusing to watch each episode. I would really like some filler. The dreams and backstory of each character should be extended. I really love the idea of what the show is trying to present, and i have been drawn and I have ended up watching an episode twice in a row to understand it. Overall, i recommend this if you want to watch something trippy and interesting in a fast pace, but I would prefer it if they put more in each episode.

Terrifically Trippy
kibadibacp11 January 2019
Each episode, a new patient's dreams are examined in a sort of psychedelic computer-generated Inception dreamworld. The show's short runtime ensures that there's never a dull moment, though it's sometimes unsatisfying (it'd be nice to flesh out each character and plot more). The characters are all quirky and unique, and the soundtrack is great. My only complaint is that I'd like more of it and longer episodes!

Awesome show! It's Arrested Development with weird sci-fi twist
emailbill30 December 2016
I'm enthusiastically giving this show a 10/10.

I'm a big Rick & Morty fan, and someone suggested I should check out this new Adult Swim show called Dream Corp LLC. I was thinking "what a weird title", but decided to give it a try (thank you Adult Swim website for letting me watch all 6 episodes).

This show is very smart, very funny, and the characters are just top notch hilarious. I've probably watched every episode about 5 or 7 times. The jokes are fast just like Arrested Development, you have to re-watch the episodes to catch them all. It's just great fun all around.

I'm excited to see more of Dream Corp. I'm hoping they even make a movie at some point.

The show is only 10 min long, so give it a try. I did, and now I'm hooked.

Do you like surrealism? Do you like comedy? Do you like dropping acid? Do you like 11 minute shows? Do you like being confused yet amused? Do you like being asked if you like stuff? Do you like sci-fi goofiness? Do you like surrealism? Do you like guy who played Colin Robertson? Do you like being amused yet confused? Do you like occasionally deep thoughts? Do you like sassy robots? Do you like great animation? Do you like that weird feeling of uneasy nostalgia when you watch a show? Do you like uncomfortable set pieces? Do you like questionable medical procedures? Do you like lots of guest stars? Me too.

I want to like it and I think I do
shiny12784 November 2016
This show takes weird to another level and I think I like it. There are definitely a few moments that stick out and the ancient setting (according to today's tech standards) really drew my attention. It looks like a very cheap 80s or early 90s show and the acting was great to the point where I think everyone is just playing the part of who they want to be so it's more natural. Maybe the acting being great was a little much, but I found it believable which is a win in my eyes. While it doesn't take much to impress me, this is my kind of show and will be happy to continue watching it. There isn't even a big time investment needed to enjoy the show since it's only 11 minutes long.

2 year update: I love this show wholeheartedly and look forward to every episode. This show needs to remain on the air forever.

Warning: Spoilers
I heard about 'DreamCorp LLC' from a video on YouTube. Years after finding myself engaged in the trippy visuals of A Scanner Darkly, and seeing that the same method was being used in this show, I decided to give it a go one night working a graveyard, and came back with a new favorite.

STORY Each 11minute episode serves as a situational plot involving the staff of a dream evaluation clinic. The absurdity within the walls of DreamCorp's grungy office space is accentuated by the unique cast of characters: A pervy technician with agoraphobia, a science whiz assistant with no gauge for human interaction (who is replaced by another science whiz assistant in season 2), a nurse with a thing for fear and loathing, an Everyman recruited to the team after going delinquent on his medical bill, a robot with Stephen Merchant inside of it, and the fearless mad scientist leader of the group, Dr. Roberts.

Though his team is dysfunctional and barely medically licensed, the doctor always finds a way to breakthrough with his patients and get into the root causes of their emotional and mental hangups, all while trying to keep his patients and staff from killing each other and themselves.

-REVIEW- The trailer didn't mince words when it showed me what the show was. Despite it's appearance as an absurd comedy with ridiculous Tim and Eric vibes and gimmicky art, DreamCorp actually turns out being a transcendent and somewhat endearing experience. The DreamCorp team descends into their patient's subconscious to deal with issues ranging from parental abandonment to irrational fears, and I found a few episodes really hitting close to home.

The effects seem gimmicky, but I felt like the producers did a really great job representing the incongruence and shifty nature of dreaming. When it came down to the character 88 having a trip on a hallucinogenic pickle in season 2, it felt like such an amazing experience for the character to have. Unfortunately, in the subsequent episodes, it almost seemed like that experience left 88 and didn't return. A plot with strong points does not make a strong plot.

The soundtrack was phenomenal. There were a few episodes that really evoked emotion with it's content and soundtrack. I'd advise keeping your soundhound handy.

-OVERALL 9/10- A strongly measured show that feels like a mix of British absurdism, American medical drama, and workplace comedy surrounded by dreams and the human condition. Definitely worth the 30 bucks I dropped for both seasons. I'd advise watching with an open mind and empathy clicked on. You'll understand....and don't forget to subscribe to our rewards program.

Lord_Giygas17 December 2021
I wish I was joking about this but I do watch this show at least once a day. This show has a surprisingly positive message about accepting your self and that life will be okay. All while maintaining amazing art visuals and comedy. I hope that will this show will go on for many more seasons!

Kind of weird show we used to watch as kids
ampemptyglass10 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Something about this show is super nostalgic. Before every kids show had to be rigidly pc or a learning experience they had all kinds of darkly imaginative shows like Today's Special, peewees playhouse, bedknobs and broomsticks or UHF. The animation is wonderful and beautiful and there's some fun periferral story lines. The comedy is in the chaos within the chaos. Someone is battling for their sanity in a dream meanwhile Randy has lost control of his robot hand in reality. This is more of a cult classic than a blockbuster hit type show, will be genius for a select few. I highly recommend...Please make more!

Give this one a REAL chance
lojoisme29 November 2020
If you go into this show looking for faults and expecting to hate it, you probably will. But for those of you that aren't sheep, give this show a good chance, and (my personal opinion) it will probably reel you in until you actually look forward to it.

There is some super weirdness to it, but it's Adult Swim, and that's kind of what most A.S. fans expect. It's entertaining, it's smart, it has some really interesting concepts, and it's really well acted.
