We find out that Stefan is in a human's body & he is trying to survive in the wilderness. Then, Stefan's body is inhabited by a serial killer from the 1880s.

Damon ends up finding Stefan before he dies.

For the most part, this episode was boring... nothing really happened. Valerie & Alaric need to let Caroline & Stefan go because the latter clearly are with the former only because they cannot be together.

The highlight of this episode was Damon's & Stefan's emotional talk when Damon is trying yo find Stefan in the blizzard. Their talks get me so emotional because despite Damon being an ass their brotherly bond is one of the reasons this show has gone on for so long.

I needed Bonnie & Enzo to be in this episode because I missed them dearly.

Stefan wakes up to find a bus on fire and people screaming. He runs in to save as many people as he can. Later when questioned by police and emergency staff he learns he was the driver of the bus. Stefan looks in the mirror and sees another face - his name is Marty. Stefan runs until he reaches a cabin.

Damon drives while leaving a voice message for Valerie, furiously asking why she took Stefan's body. The vampire in Stefan's body comes walking down the road and Damon lets him in. Damon doesn't know that is not Stefan.

Valerie has found Rayna calling Matt and learns that all the vampires in the stone are now released. They have gone into any body they can find - human or vampire. Valerie shows up at Alaric's home with Rayna tied up. They figure out that the vampire in Stefan's body is one who was a serial killer back in the 1880s. This vampire frequented sorority and fraternity houses, forcing his victims to kill each other. The victims were never believed.

Damon has found Stefan in the road while it is snowing. Stefan takes big bites into donuts and then he has a nosebleed. Marty doesn't have much time. Damon says they have 48 hours to find Stefan's real body and make the switch.
