Actor Jeremy Renner was once appointed as the new lead for Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne films. But before Renner was in the picture, Joel Edgerton was seriously considered as Damon’s successor.

Bourne Legacy filmmaker Tony Gilroy considered Renner to be more than capable of leading Damon’s highly acclaimed spy franchise. Gilroy had a hand in writing all three of Damon’s Bourne movies, and would end up in the director’s chair for Legacy. After meeting Renner, Gilroy knew immediately that the Marvel star was right for the role. Especially since Gilroy and the team weren’t just looking for a good actor for Legacy.
“We knew how demanding the part was going to be and how high the bar was that Matt had set for us,” Gilroy once told The Telegraph.

Today was the Disney annual shareholder meeting. One of the more odd claims that Disney CEO Bob Iger made involved a question regarding Universal Orlando’s upcoming Epic Universe theme park.
Epic Universe will open in 2025, and Disney has not made many announcements for Walt Disney World outside of rethemes, stage shows, and odd upcoming attractions like Smellephants on Parade.
During the meeting, a question was posed to Iger about the upcoming competition.
With Epic Universe opening up in Orlando in 2025, why hasn’t Disney prepared anything or placed more than just a handful of attractions in the pipeline to be ready for this in 2025 at Walt Disney World?
Iger responded by claiming that Disney had known about Epic Universe for years, and that its expansions, going back seven years, were in response to it.
Iger said, “Thank you very much for your question but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Disney has found a way to gouge guests even further with the Genie+ add-on. According to WDWMagic, today’s Genie+ options will cost you between $29 – $39 per person on top of the $159-$179 ticket prices and then tax. This is getting ridiculous.
For March 23, Genie+ has hit the highest price point since New Year’s Eve. The add-on will cost you $39 for the Magic Kingdom or the multi-park option. The other parks will cost you different amounts. Today, it is $35 for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, $32 for Epcot, and $29 for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
This is on top of the already pricey park tickets.
A Magic Kingdom one-day base ticket for March 23 is $179 + $39 = $218 per person plus taxes.
A Disney’s Hollywood Studios one-day base ticket for March 23 is $174 + $35 = $209 per person plus tax.
Epcot will also cost you $174 today for a one-day base ticket. $174 + $32 = $206 per person plus tax.

Two years after a mysterious malady began to sweep through France, humans continue to mutate into other animal species. Hybrid creatures who aren’t sitting in rehabilitation clinics that are really detention centers roam the streets and countryside. In The Animal Kingdom, an Un Certain Regard-selected science-fiction romp from France, human-animal mutations are the new norm. Director Thomas Cailley begins things in media res with a familiar disaster-movie scene: François (Romain Duris) and Émile (Paul Kircher)––father and son, respectively––are stuck in traffic, making chit-chat, when something slowly begins capturing the attention of other drivers. An ambulance across the way begins to rumble. Then a man with a large winged arm bursts out, causing some damage before scurrying down a tunnel. Only mildly ruffled, François exchanges a jaded aphorism with another driver over: “Strange times.”
That blasé mood provides an attractive entry point to Cailley’s world: the mutants in The Animal Kingdom are a fledgling phenomenon, but the unaffected are still trying to get to work on time. At film’s start, François is taking Émile to visit his mother, who is one of the unlucky few.

Hollywood’s long strike season is over and the town can finally get back to work without the specter of any more labor action, for now.
Actors were on strike for 118 days, but after ratifying the deal between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP, with a very healthy 78.33% of the votes, thesps, scribes, directors and crew — not to mention of all of the associated workers — can head into 2024 with a bit of optimism.
Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, National Executive Director of SAG-AFTRA and Chief Negotiator, who alongside President Fran Drescher and the guild’s negotiating committee spent many months working to secure this deal, spoke to Deadline an hour after Tuesday’s ratification vote. He evidently was pleased with both the result and the turnout, higher than even he saw coming.
The deal, which is worth around $1B over three years, comes with the union’s first-ever protections around AI technology, albeit controversial ones,...

Crime procedurals can be brutal. While actors on shows like "Criminal Minds" and "Law & Order: Svu" might brace themselves to play characters who deal with the unthinkable, the nasty and upsetting details of shows like these can still sometimes get to the people who embody the detectives fans love. Just ask Emily Deschanel: in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Deschanel revealed that one early episode of the show "Bones" impacted her so much that she ended up bawling on film -- a sharp contrast to her matter-of-fact character's non-reactions.

The John Wick universe has always had two main characters: John Wick and The Continental. There was a reason Winston hung on to it so much in the movies.
While John's story has always been interesting, it felt like there was a lot to be said about the lore surrounding John's line of work, including the vast hotel network and The High Table.
The films didn't have enough time to explore many of these aspects because the clock was ticking, and they had a narrative to follow while serving as many action scenes as possible.
When the idea behind the show was announced, it was interesting in the least. For one, there was curiosity on how the creatives would pull off a show centered around an inanimate object, and two, was it a cash grab?

Anyone who knows and loves a theater kid understands that they can be… a little much. To their credit, theater kids accept and embrace this reputation. Both the excessiveness of theater kids and their willingness to celebrate their extremities can be seen in the comedy Theater Camp, directed by Molly Gordon and Nick Lieberman. After winning over critics and earning a strong, if limited, return in theaters, Theater Camp has come to Hulu.
Based on a short film that Gordon and Lieberman made with Ben Platt and Noah Galvin, Theater Camp features a group of theater kids trying to save their camp from the founder’s jerky son, who wants to sell it off for something more profitable. Both self-aware and sincere, Theater Camp is a love letter to the over-the-top nerds who can sing every word of A Chorus Line and know that Andrew Rannells was in Street Sharks.
