Happily Surprised - BOSCH!
piajax30 July 2016
I constantly search the internet for good comedy shows, because I love to laugh or at least be amused by television, which means I am living in state of likely disappointment. When I find something decent I want other people to know about it.

I will not go as far as calling this show brilliant, but after the two first episodes I have a fuzzy, warm feeling of anticipation about what is to come. I am probably not the right demographic, but, hey, I was partying in the 90s, and there are some references to those days. In fact, it might as well have been set in the 90s - minus smart phones.

The cast really works, the writing is even better, and the production will have no complaints from me. I have not seen this particular twist before, so full points on originality.

I recommend this show to anybody who likes their comedy a bit bent out of shape!

Fresh air in polluted atmosphere
adiletk31 July 2016
Preamble I love comedy shows, sitcoms like community and how i met your mother used to bring me ton of joy but those shows are over :(, sure i can go and re-watch from time to time but it is not the same as enjoying it first time. 90 % percent of ongoing comedy TV shows are bad unfortunately but fortunately 10 % of them are gems like this show. I like everything about Wasted, the style of the show reminds me of 90 shows and cast is great , actors are no names but it makes the show more genuine. Male cast are typical dudes like any of us and female cast look like any normal casual girls that are in certain situation more charming then any supper model. Review Feeling i feel when i watch this show - warm, nostalgic, funny, hilarious, hope ( or things are not that bad) and college romance. Ned in this sow as well so yeah go watch it right now!

Laugh out loud funny!!
kavabat13 April 2017
I absolutely love crass and intelligent British humor. If you are a fan of Spaced, Peep Show, The Mighty Boosh, The IT Crowd, and Fresh Meat you will love Wasted. Though similar with these other brilliant comedies it stands on its own as a very unique and original series. The cast is amazing!! and I quickly fell in love with every one of them even "The Holy Man" LOL!!

I haven't laughed this hard in many years.
Bezuul10 April 2018
This show had such a build up to the sixth episode. There was no strong story driving it but playing on known themes and a building humor throughout the series had me in stitches by the end. I haven't laughed that hard in years probably. I still have a headache from laughing. At the very least anyone who enjoyed Sean Bean in Lord of the Rjngs will get some enjoyment out of it. I hope people can give this show a chance in time and bring it back. I signed up here just to review this show.

Much better than expected

Had read a few bits about this and wasn't sure I'd like it but I took the plunge and it had me creasing up all the time. Writing really funny. Directed and edited really well. Loved all the cast. Especially Sean Bean and Morpheus. Morpheus steals the show because you kind of feel for him . thought the acting was great, slightly heightened but genuine and funny. It's like Spaced crossed with inbetweeners. Favourite episode was the Berryman and the last EP. All the game of thrones references were superb. Hopefully they get to do another series. It definitely deserves another run. Hope Sean Bean comes back too. Top marks to all involved

Amazing show that uses every funny trick in the book; a lot of quirky & upbeat jokes with fun & quick editing to make an explosive, phantasmagorical adventure. Please make a season 2!!!!

Being wasted is funny
sirhoon27 August 2017
Having spent the last part of the 90's in the UK including some dabbling in the drug culture, well, I really relate to this show and think it is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. It's not"stoner" comedy because they don't just get stoned. In fact a lot of it is straight with the interaction of the "waster" characters just doing and saying stupid waster things. In other words, it's mint. Kind of a modern day cheech and chong set in a small British village with four friends and Sean Bean as his GOT character playing Morpheus' subconscious. Obviously innit! Childish? maybe. Funny? I certainly think so. Please make another season.

Bootleg Edgar Wright
olivergould-9254527 July 2016
Take the west country accents from Hot Fuzz, the slacker camaraderie of spaced and the pub culture of Wright's trilogy and spaced, then add the super imposed sound effects and camera cuts juxtaposed with mundane actions that Wright's famous for, and a whole mess of other tropes from Wright's works, now imagine all this devoid of any humor and you have Wasted.

The show is an insult to Wright who it steals from without adding anything to the formula and it's an insult to the audience as the show is just the window dressing of Wrights work without any thought gone into the comedy, it's all style and no substance and it's completely jarring for it.

How did this get canceled?!

Found this on hulu this year. Every single episode made me wheeze until I was crying. A much more adept execution of gross-out humor than I have seen anywhere else. I cannot believe this never got a second season!

Fantastic Show! Very funny
danburgosdesign10 December 2020
Very talented young actors and some excellent writing. Feels like it's a young cousin of Simon Pegg's Spaced in all the best ways.

Why isn't everyone talking about this show? It's perfection. Since watching it, all other comedies pale in comparison.

That strange old sense of deja vu
ollyridyard27 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Just watched the first two episodes. Only watched the second to 'give it a chance'. A friend recommended this was a great comedy and that using Sean Bean was 'genius'.

I will say using Sean Bean is 'wasted' is far more appropriate. Pun intended. Could not believe that the Daily Telegraph Culture section gave it 4/5 stars. But then their review title 'Sean Bean steals the show as he parodies his Game of Thrones ghost' is essentially a euphemism or polite way of saying 'this is garbage, Sean Bean makes it just tolerable'.

It felt like it was ripping off Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz/Simon Pegg in general. My Wife then read some reviews out that said exactly the same.

The humour considering they are '20 somethings' would have been juvenile to me when I was 20. K.M.N. and 50 minutes of my life wasted spring to mind (plus the extra 5 minutes to write this review). Avoid like the plague as there are funny ways to spend an hour.

Yes it's like Spaced, and that's a good thing!
barraboy913 February 2024
This missed us by the first time and we randomly found it on C4 streaming. I'm glad I did as it amused me.

It's crude, puerile, drug fueled and a worthy successor to Spaced. Yes it's derivative, and so what. It's not just a copy and it has its own quirky style. I thought the scene shifts and use of computer game imagery and sounds hammered that home.

The characters were amusing and likeable and I thought Danny Kirrane's energetic performance was excellent. Sean Bean as the spirit guide was a stroke of genius and my wife and I loved his every scene.

I'm really surprised this only got 1 series and no real visibility.

One word of warning, there is prodigious drug usage and adult themes, so bear that in mind before watching with the kids!

It's perfect for an end of the day easy watching and some laughs.
