Actor/director Mathieu Amalric commences work on his eighth feature with Serre moins fort, a working title. The French-German co-production is being produced by Yael Fogiel and Laetitia Gonzalez, with support from the Cnc. Vicky Krieps and Arieh Worthalter are starring. Amalric’s Public Affairs premiered in the 2003 Directors’ Fortnight lineup at Cannes, where he returned to compete in 2010 with On Tour, winning the Fipresci Prize and Best Director. His 2014 Georges Simenon adaptation The Blue Room went to Un Certain Regard, as did 2017’s Barbara, which won the Poetry of Cinema Award in the sidebar and took home nine Cesar awards, winning two, including Best Actress for Jeanne Balibar.…

Arclight strikes major deals led by UK on Daniel Radcliffe thriller ‘Escape From Pretoria’ (exclusive)

Hamilton Entertainment, BeaglePug, Footprint Films, and Enriched Media Group produce Australia-uk co-pro.

Gary Hamilton’s Arclight Films has struck major new deals on the Daniel Radcliffe true-life prison break thriller Escape From Pretoria led by a sale to Signature in the UK.

Besides the UK, rights have also gone in Latin America (Turner). Additional recent deals include Benelux (Dfw), Scandinavia and Iceland (Mis. Label), Italy (Minerva), Japan (At Entertainment), Poland (Monolith), Portugal (Films4You), Turkey (Sayez Films), and Israel (Shoval).

Taika Waititi's Next Goal Wins Begins Production with Michael Fassbender and Elisabeth Moss

Fox Searchlight Pictures announced today that it has acquired Worldwide rights to Next Goal Wins, the new feature from director Taika Waititi. The film began production last week in Honolulu, Hawaii. Next Goal Wins is written by Waititi and Iain Morris, and stars Michael Fassbender and Elisabeth Moss.

Taika Waititi is producing alongside Jonathan Cavendish and Garrett Basch, with Andy Serkis, Will Tennant, and Kathryn Dean serving as executive producers. Additional producers include Mike Brett and Steve Jamison, who directed the 2014 documentary from which the film is based. The film will be overseen by Presidents of Production for Film and Television David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield, Svp of Production DanTram Nguyen, and VP Production Taylor Friedman.
