Storyline

This horror/action-adventure film from director Gerard McMurray serves as a prequel that recounts events that led up to the first Purge event. To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community.

Goofs

Staten Island covers roughly 60 square miles. Most of the African Americans and Latinos live in a narrow strip near the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. The film, however, shows them running around all areas of the island, including some areas which are MILES away from their homes. See more »

Quotes

Nya: Dolores, you're okay!
Dolores: No, I'm not okay. I was out there looking for your little narrow ass. I was scared to death out there. I lost my damn cell phone. I couldn't call nobody for help. Then I get the bubble guts, try to run home. That was a bad idea, 'cause I realized I don't have my asthma pump. Oh, but it gets better. 'Cause I shit on myself a little bit when I was on my way home. My fucking bowels done joined the Purge, too.

User Reviews

Absolute Garbage.
11 July 2018 | by matthewkushner35See all my reviews

My expectations going into be movie were impeccably low, however, apparently, they were not low enough. Do not go into this movie expecting a thorough back story to the beginnings of the purge. Instead, expect a very short glimpse of the beginnings, which is followed by simply another purge movie, that is just worse. I debated leaving halfway through, but I remembered I payed 6 dollars to watch it, and I went with 2 other people. Please save your money, and don't go or rent this trash.
