Dead girls do not sing
This episode opens at the funeral of Annelies's father funeral, at which we see Paul has returned. Afterwards the team are called in when a girl is found hanged at a prestigious boarding school. Paul quickly believes it was a sex game gone wrong. John isn't so sure so takes the case the Professor T. The Professor is happy to take the case as is gets him out of an appointment with a student who is uncomfortably flirtatious. It soon becomes apparent that people are hiding things; first it emerges that her boyfriend had been in the room and argued with her then there are claims that a teacher had been involved with her... this is rather awkward as the teacher in question is the husband of Professor T's psychiatrist.
There are plenty of enjoyably surreal moments during this episode as Professor T sees his psychiatrist's husband as a marionette who does as his wife tells him and the opening funeral scene where he imagines everybody breaking out into a song and dance routine. The case is intriguing with plenty of possibilities... including that it was just a tragic accident. There are revelations during the investigation; some that were far from obvious. The cast were on fine form; it was good to Herwig Ilegems return as Paul after some time away and Goele Derick return as Mrs Sneyers after missing the previous episode. Away from the case there are interesting personal developments as Annelies considers her future in the police and Christina's boyfriend behaves in a suspicious manner. Overall an impressive episode.
