Miss Marple arrives in the small, sleepy village of Lymston, and discovers a poison pen letter writer causing havoc. A letter proves too much for one recipient, Angela Symmington, who takes her own life.
It's a classic adaptation, I haven't long finished reading the book, and it's clear that the team behind this one wanted to keep it as faithful as possible.
It's a really great whodunnit, expect huge characters, spite, malice, lust and tea with The Vicar, it really is a great way to spend an afternoon.
Terrific visuals, glorious scenery, and that charming music.
Joan Hickson is magical as Miss Marple, Northampton's finest doesn't put a foot wrong. Andrew Bicknell and Sabina Franklyn are great as the new arrivals, Richard Pearson and Hilary Mason delight as The Village's two senior players.
9/10.
