I've never understood the appeal of Victoria Wood's brand of comedy. After she died, I heard a lot of people praise her, saying that she was clever, insightful, a national treasure, etc. When this comedy series was shown, I thought I'd give her comedy another chance by watching this series - which is a combination of highlights of her performances and of people who knew her talking about her. I still don't get her appeal. All I see when watching her is a plain, middle-aged woman wittering on about ordinary things. Everything she said either isn't worth saying or had previously been said in a much better way by other people.
