The Twist
claudio_carvalho10 March 2018
Reileen sends the ghost walker and her minions to the Raven Hotel to kill Kovacs´ friends. They destroy Poe, kill Micky and bring Ava with them to the Head in the Cloud. However Poe sends Lizzie to the Head in the Cloud before he is destroyed. She sleeves to a synthetic body and helps her parents, Kovacs and Ortega to fight Reileen, the ghost walker and the other gangsters.

"The Killers" is the last episode of "Altered Carbon" where open questions are closed. The conclusion is not bad but the confrontation of Kovacs and Reileen is too long. After the initial moment, when Ortega was concerned with the Ryker´s body, she had feelings for Kovacs. Therefore the romance is flawed in the conclusion. There are also too much information along ten episodes of the series. However the twist with the revelation of the truth about Lauren and Miriam Bancroft is great. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "The Killers"

A Great Finish To A Great Season!
LorenBieg6 February 2018
After all the carnage, fire, and retribution, Altered Carbon leaves us with a sense of closure, a solved case, and direction for the future, should the series be renewed for a second season.

Despite a bit of a sag mid-season, the tightness of the writing and the well-thought-out story arcs shine in this and the previous episodes. There was always more going on than we realized. The ending is heavy and as poetic as it is dramatic.

If the series is renewed, the producers will have to pull off some fancy casting or sleeve sleight of hand in order to reuse the same cast. One of the downsides of Altering so much Carbon I suppose.

Well worth the watch. I believe those who gave it a negative review probably checked out among the handful of episodes in the middle that deviated from form enough to almost feel like a different show. If you enjoyed the first 3-4 episodes, stick with it. Altered Carbon finishes strong!

Another day, another Netflix home-run.
Aktham_Tashtush4 February 2018
Well by now i don't know if its needed to review Netflix original series ,, i mean ,,if it has the "Netflix" name on it ,just with no hesitation watch it..

The series has an original plot,, a genuine story in the future not like any other Sci-Fi ,, Here humans can live forever , clone themselves and "jump" between bodies ,, but unlike any other sci-fi, here the drama was so heightened , the action and the fight scene were so fast and futuristic , the scientific correctness was on point and as close as possible to the far future but also as close as possible to being believable and scientifically "probable".

Al the 6 writers of the show were amazing , and well known to be involved in other "fantasies" or "sci-fi" like from "True blood" to "Daredevil" and "Da Vinci's Demons" and Netflix "The Punisher" so they're all familiar with what Netflix usually offers to the viewers and they are familiar with what sci-fi and action/drama would look like of the small screen.. and they indeed did an amazing job in here, making the show as usual fast, well connected and easily understandable which makes you dragged and wanting to finish the whole series in on day.

The cast was really good,, maybe in the first episodes they all looked weird with their new fresh faces but then you start recognize them, oh it's that guy from Suicide Squad "Joel Kinnaman" and look it's "Hiro Kanagawa" :D and that's "James Purefoy" from "The Following" but even the new faces like that hot Mexican "Martha Higareda", she was really good.

Finally, i haven't yet heard any news of renewal, but well i think it's obvious since they left the door wide open in the final scene for a new big plot enough for another 10 episodes , but who knows ;)

Tied up this season with a bow
tonygraves-9302515 June 2020
No need to rewrite story here again but a short comment with let a new watcher know if you missed a point in the first 9 chapters of this season's story you will be able to get answers here. This is how you get a story handled. You can rewatch the whole story n learn each viewing a point within the plot you missed at the end. So reruns are fun n each player can be a focus for a whole binge watching cycle. Hope all filmmakers n studios use that format. I hate a show that ends without the tie up the show with a bow chapter. Only if a single showing is a standalone plot. This show is not one I'll revisit to enjoy over n over. Hope season 2 is the same experience for us " they lived happily ever more" as the author intended the story show be viewership group.

The Top Episode
Easygoer107 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
They saved thr best for last, although there is far too much yappong by Rei in the last 2 episodes. Way too talky. The worst line in the entire series is after Tak kill his sister Rei: Quell says, "She loved you in her own way." I almost burst out laughing, it was so bad. Even Joel Kinnamon, who plays "Tak", almost laughed himself. I could see the crack of disbelief in his face. Regardless, it's still a great way for the season to end, and fortunately, they are filming a 2nd Season! Later folks.

No words

Warning: Spoilers
But i will try to write down a few.

I have just finished to watch the first season - what a series !

It had everything, from character development, amazing CGI, amazing plots, twists, love stories. Amazing writing, underlining all the possible human relationships that can revolve around a series and make it dope to watch.

This being said, I found myself drown to the main character too much - so much I cannot even comprehend to start season 2 without being completely disappointed by it - because the main changes and almost all familiarity is swept from under our eyes.

Yes, the finale of season 1 is amazing and it ties up everyone - expect Kovacs- in this "happily ever after" idea. But still, all the atoms im composed of want to watch more of this world !

Also, after knowing it got cancelled, i just want the memory of a great series to linger more in my head, and i cant put myself in the posture to see season 2.

I dont know, im lost for words. What a great story and what a great lead !

Poe is so amazing i cried when he died, because it was then when i understood that once this season would end - everything from this world would end with it.

And its not like in Doctor Who where you could probably relate to each and every character in their own way. For me - This season cannot be beaten - even though i havent given a chance even to season 2.

The idea that Netflix canceled such a potential, reminds me of Firefly.

This is one of the shows i will not rewatch - because it already had its full effect over my mind, and gave me that feeling that rarely comes out after watching a story end - the emptiness, hollowness that unfortunately its came to just that - the end. Everything stopped, and i gotta move on to something different so i can take myself out of that world.

Great season, and for me, great series. Unfortunately, amazing things come in small doses.

Easily one of the best season finales ever
ajping7 February 2018
This episode has it all. Sword fights, confessions, difficult choices, absolute mayhem... Frankly, I didn't expect the writers and producers to aim this high, but aim they did and this episode hits the target.

Wasted ending to an otherwise brilliant show
tedchuck7 February 2018
I loved the series and the complex themes portrayed and introduced, but the last two episodes felt stilted and oddly compiled. Characters were killed off indiscriminately to the point of making the viewer apathetic and the scenes that were supposed to be most impactful fell flat. I could not get enough of the series up until the climax. Decisions made by the main characters seemed irrelevant or pointless. Even the action, otherwise excellent throughout the series, was disjointed. The ending reminded me of a low budget whodunnit. There was even extensive reuse of footage that seemed to unnecessarily lengthen the episode. Sad way to see the series end, even though I hope to see more from this universe.

Tacky, stilted final for a great season so far
sahinvictor30 November 2019
Minutes of footage reuse, tacky plot twists, even a deus ex machina concludes a great first season as usual for Netflix with good starts and bad followups.

Why did Kovac's sister have to die!!!
Caglatureray19 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Kovac's sister was the only good forceful character in this series. Especially compared to That stupid detective girl. Plus, It doesn't make sense how Kovac could kill his own sister when he cannot even let a stranger (lizzie's father) to die. No sense in that! I lost my full respect for Kovac's!! Family is family!! You protect family against all! Also couldn't they at least find a nicer actress to play the detective girl rather than that psycho aggressive girl who keeps shouting over and over again. Such an annoyance in my ear!! Definitely a lot of disappointment in this last episode. But the greatest disappointment is that scenario was good but unfortunately the actor/actresses could not beat up to that.
