The film follows the course of the friends' lives, from the struggles of childhood through finding their footing in life, to the series of unlikely events leading up to the attack. Goofs

While in the medic class, Alex addresses the instructor, a female non-commissioned officer, as "ma'am." NCOs are addressed by their rank, e.g. "Sergeant," "Master Sergeant, etc." Outside of basic training (and then, only in the Marines), they are never addressed as "ma'am" or "sir." Alex has been in the service long enough to know this. See more »

Quotes

Anthony: [narrating] My name is Anthony Sadler. You're probably wondering why a brother like me is hanging out with these two crackers. But trust me, they're my two closest friends. Let me introduce you. This is Alek Skarlatos, the robot. He's a strong guy. He'll always have your back whenever you're in trouble. And this is Spencer Stone. You don't have to worry about him having your back in trouble because I'm sure he'll find it first. Seems like the three of us have been gettin' each other...

very enjoyable

I really don't understand the dislike for this movie. I enjoyed the back story, superimposed over the beginning of the conflict on the train. Eastwood shows us how these boys lifestyles contributed to putting them in the perfect frame of mind and experiences to thwart this particular attempt at terror. I've seen people commenting on their acting abilities but honestly, I thought they did better than some people who actually call themselves actors. Eastwood and these three men did a great job with an amazing story and I was very glad I took the chance on it
