It Was Actually Funny
timbirtv10 May 2019
I honestly can't believe they managed to make an episode which is relatively funny. I think the reason it worked is because it was more like a clip show with short funny interactions as opposed to the usual cliché 2 or 3 longer stories which are no longer connected in any way. Back in the day, they could manage to create stories which would come together in a clever way by the end of the episode, but for the past 5 or 6 seasons this has not been the case.

great and funny as always

I love modern family, even though people think the last seasons arent good. I love this series, and I think it gets better every time.

Stop being so censorious with your rating. It gets such a low rating from the imdb reviewers. I mean, you are not a real professional critic so stop acting like one. This show is great!!!!! come on.

Every character has it unique features, and thats what makes this show so fascinating and just fun to spend time with. The evolvement of the characters every season, the plot changing, I like everything and I think the writers do a great job. This show really deserves all the emmys it got.

I love it and I am really impatient for the next season!! (and unfortunately the last one)

Pretty good

The session finale of modern family for me rises up to expectations and even gave a few laughs along the way as it was unable to deliver this season.

Great Season Ender

Warning: Spoilers
This show is so fast-paced that when people watch certain storylines they don't seem attached to, they feel it's too long and then judge the whole episode as bad. There were few pain-in-the-stomach lines and jokes this season but there were more tear-inducing and heartwarming moments and this last episode was a great culmination of those times. It was showcased in a different set-up unlike the usual episodes but it was a crafty way of storytelling and I could feel just every character being there. Which is what I love most about the show, there are just enough people to love. I didn't know that there was still an 11th season when I watched this and maybe it's the thought of it being last that made me cry really hard but also it's the wonderful homage to the first episode during the last scene. :)

Nothing is better than having more diverse and funny characters to get to know and love.

What a great episode! Beautiful idea. Laugh out loud funny, cry out loud emotional. Masterpiece of an average season.

Very good

Good way to end no massive moments or running around like in other sitcoms just a subtle way of showing the modern family has gone full circle with the next generation

Another modern family begins
studioAT13 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This was a different sort of episode than normal, in the sense that it told little snippets of stories, rather than the traditional 2-3. We also see the birth of Haley's twins, which has been the thread across most of this 10th series.

For me this episode suffers because it doesn't know whether it's a finale of the series or 'Modern Family' in general. It actually would have been a good place to leave it.

I enjoyed the episode overall though.

Really?

Warning: Spoilers
From what I saw review wise before watching, I was expecting a funny but tear-jerker of an ending to the season. Unfortunately, child birth does not a finale make. The birth of Haley's kids feels like an afterthought, none of the cast get the chance to shine comedically, and Manny inspires nothing but sighs and eyerolls for the whole twenty-odd minutes. Disappointing.

A curve ball
jpapanone9 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The cold open gave me Hope's. A few good opening jokes...but before that was even over, the horribleness began. I think Gloria started it.

The roast of Jay was a fine enough idea. Could have been better. Hell...could have been an entire episode of that.

Then it was just unfunny bit after unfunny bit.

I hate that so many sitcoms follow this pattern.

Start off ok...then get better like season 3 to 5...and then start to slowly decline...and don't stop declining. Almost as if they are attempting to get worse and worse with every next season...every next episode.

How many seasons are there of Modern Family.

10.

How many watchable seasons of Modern Family are there?

Maybe 5.5...6.5 if I'm feeling generous.
