- A man transforms into a monster, ripping another man's throat put of his neck.

- Through the series, there's a recurring theme of child (physical) abuse. It's discussed, appears in overlapping audio, and sometimes short images flash on screen.

- Kills come by extremely frightening monsters at extremely unexpected times.
- Not only does the series deal with supernatural elements, but it also takes place during the 1950s with the main protagonists being people of color, which means there are a lot of scary scenes involving racism.

Sex & Nudity
- A man and woman are kissing heavily on a bed. The man takes his shirt off, and the woman changes her mind and asks him to stop. He does not obey and continues to undress. He takes off his pants and a snake jumps out and attacks the woman. No nudity, in that scene. However, An earlier shot shows a graphic painting of Adam about to make love to Eve, with her upper body nudityseen, but her genitals obscured by angle; Adam is shown to have a snake between his legs in place of male genitalia.
- A man being sodomised repeatedly with the heel of a stiletto - rear male butt nudity - extremely disturbing.
- Ji-Ah becomes a kumiho during sex. Basically she has "tails" come out of various body parts that attach to her partner, take their souls, and kill them. Somewhat disturbing to watch as they come out of her during the sex scenes and attach to the partner. She is usually fully nude in these scenes, but never in the series is there female genitalia shown, as lower body views are from the side primarily.
Violence & Gore
- Men get brutally killed by a frightening monster, spraying blood over others.
- i-Ah becomes a kumiho during sex. Basically she has "tails" come out of various body parts that attach to her partner, take their souls, and kill them. Somewhat disturbing to watch as they come out of her. As she transforms, she kills her partner and is covered in blood. One scene is shown through a backlit screen.
- A haunted house causes an elevator to suddenly decapitate a man. Graphic and bloody. Several ghosts can be seen afterward, each with a deformity or disturbing sign of violence.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- The beginning scene takes place on a battlefield, where Lovecraft's monsters battle Powerless soldiers. The most frightening of these monsters being Cthulu (a giant squid with legs and wings for those who don't know who he is).
- The sheriff's deformed body turning into a monster, is very frightening.
- Ruby under goes a version of metamorphosis. She is given a potion that allows her to temporarily experience life as a white woman. However, when she changes back to her normal self, the white skin basically melts off and is bloody. Can be very disturbing.
- Ji-Ah becomes a kumiho during sex. Basically she has "tails" come out of various body parts that attach to her partner, take their souls, and kill them. Somewhat disturbing to watch as they come out of her.
