The utterly diabolical, confusing, thrilling, and murderous game between Eve and Villanelle will be available to watch or rewatch on Netflix as all episodes of Killing Eve debut on the platform for US viewers on April 15. The show cemented itself as one of the most uniquely entertaining shows of the late 2010s thanks to great performances by its leading ladies, Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh. In Killing Eve, Oh played a bored MI5 agent who begins a cat-and-mouse game with an international assassin, but as they test each other's wits, an unlikely romance develops between them that confuses and complicates their dynamic. The show ran for four exquisite seasons, premiering in 2018 and concluding in 2022 on BBC America.

When Mr. & Mrs. Smith was announced as a TV series for Prime Video in 2021, there were plenty of reasons to be skeptical about the project.
It was based on a movie of the same name that did reasonably well but isn't especially well-remembered.
The announced starring duo of Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge was intriguing, especially considering that both performers were credited as creators.
Both had a history of starring in and creating successful series, including Glover with Atlanta and Waller-Bridge with Fleabag. Plus, Waller-Bridge served as the showrunner in the first season of Killing Eve, another prestige series about an assassin.
But then Waller-Bridge dropped out of the project just a few months after it was announced due to "creative differences," with Maya Erskine replacing her as the show's female lead. Glover and Francesca Sloane are credited as the co-creators.
Beyond that, the series had its premiere delayed repeatedly,...

Rey's upcoming return in Star Wars: New Jedi Order may bring back Rey's mother, Miramir, for added depth to her character. Jodie Comer's potential return as Miramir could rectify issues with Rey's lineage in The Rise of Skywalker's underdeveloped script. The return of Rey's mother could work in the upcoming movie through flashbacks or Force-centric explorations, offering a deeper exploration of Rey's history.
Rey's upcoming return to a galaxy far, far away, tentatively titled "Star Wars: New Jedi Order," could bring back one minor character from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker to add further depth to her character. Since the film's announcement, many have been theorizing and speculating over what could be part of Rey's New Jedi Order story. Thus far, all that has been revealed about the project is its timeline, with the film being set 15 years after the culmination of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Well-established Italian producers Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Mieli — who left their Fremantle-owned banners, Wildside and The Apartment, respectively, earlier this year — are returning to the growing TV and film powerhouse with their new scripted outfit.
The duo — who co-founded “The Young Pope” and “My Brilliant Friend” production house Wildside in 2009 before Mieli exited to set up The Apartment, which was behind the recent hit “Priscilla” — are yet to reveal details of their new company. But the pair have now signed a co-production deal with Fremantle that will see them collaborate on several projects.
Among those in production and post-production from the two producers are Paolo Sorrentino’s latest film, Kirill Serebrennikov’s “Limonov -The Ballad,” “Queer” by Luca Guadagnino starring Daniel Craig, the new film by Gabriele Mainetti, “Maria” by Pablo Larraín starring Angelina Jolie, plus the TV series “M. The Son of the Century” by Joe Wright and “Il Mostro” by Stefano Sollima.

Exclusive: Bad Wolf is adopting a U.S.-style pilot strategy on BBC drama Dope Girls by finishing episode one months before the rest so that it can be shopped at the London and LA TV Screenings.

"The Americans" explores the dynamic of an arranged marriage between spies, offering a character-driven anchor amidst high-stakes missions. Similar shows like "Beef" and "Killing Eve" balance between intense stakes and lead characters' relationships. The leads in "Citadel" spend the first season connecting similarly to Jane and John.
Amazon's Mr. & Mrs. Smith had a successful debut and, for fans of the series, there are plenty of shows with a similar structure and themes. Mr. & Mrs. Smith follows two strangers, John and Jane, after they begin working as agents for a mysterious organization, developing a relationship along the way. The series is a loose remake of a film of the same name starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as the titular characters, but Amazon's Mr. & Mrs. Smith differs from the 2005 film in a few unique ways.

For fans of World War II period dramas and the original "Percy Jackson" films, I have incredible news. The limited series "We Were the Lucky Ones" is coming to Disney's newly-purchased Hulu very soon, and it looks like it's going to be worth the wait.
The show is "inspired by the incredible true story of one Jewish family separated at the start of World War II, determined to survive and reunite," according to the official synopsis. "The series demonstrates how in the face of the 20th century's darkest moment, the human spirit can endure and even thrive. The series is a tribute to the triumph of hope and love against all odds."
It is adapted from a New York Times best-selling novel of the same name by Georgia Hunter, a 46-year-old Jewish-American author. Her book is based on the true story of her family's survival in the Holocaust. Although the...

With changing release dates, surprise announcements, and an ever-fluid development landscape, it can be a challenge to keep track of every single video game coming out in a given year. 2024 may not have titles like Baldur’s Gate 3 or Spider-Man 2 on the horizon, and Sony has confirmed it won’t be releasing any new installments from its major franchises before 2025, but there are still plenty of noteworthy games coming to the PS5 that are worth checking out in the coming months.

An HBO series from A24, starring Park Chan-wook, & Robert Downey Jr., scarcely requires marketing. However, the latest trailer for The Sympathizer, based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, excites fans to watch the show.

A Spy Has Countless Faces in the Latest Trailer of HBO & A24’s ‘The Sympathizer’
The trailer for The Sympathizer makes it hard to figure out what is happening, which is the film’s goal. The buzzy upcoming Max series crosses genres and tones, tilts from tragic to satirical, and covers the complicated history of the post-Vietnam War era—all anchored by a mysterious, unknown spy (Hoa Xuande) in its center.
The fact that Downey portrays multiple different scary avatars of American imperialism is only the tip of the iceberg regarding The Sympathizer’s several levels of mystery and deception.

Comedy can enhance the impact of dramatic moments and make characters more relatable. Humor can break up the tone of a show and prevent it from becoming monotonous. Comedy can highlight the shortcomings and absurdities of characters, adding depth and entertainment value.
Even though some shows claim to be dramas, they are still much funnier than plenty of the comedies on TV. Great shows should be able to balance both humor and drama. Just as the best comedy TV shows should also tell compelling stories, the best dramas should be able to make their audiences laugh. Shows with a few jokes woven in are better equipped to retain people's attention, because humor can break up a show's tone and stop it from becoming too monotonous. Even if comedy isn't a show's main focus, it's often a good tool to have available.

Jodie Comer's performances in TV and film have been impressive, earning her awards and critical acclaim. The End We Start From showcases Comer's talent as a film lead, since she delivers a wholly gripping and thought-provoking performance. Comer is poised for a Hollywood breakthrough, with exciting upcoming projects and a growing reputation as one of the best actors of her generation.
The End We Start From is a haunting new apocalypse film that's worth watching in its own right. However, the movie also proves that lead actor Jodie Comer deserves to be a much bigger star in Hollywood at this point. Early in her career, Comer hit it big on British TV with series like My Mad Fat Diary, Doctor Foster, and Thirteen, but it was the BBC's Killing Eve, which saw her starring opposite Sandra Oh, that brought Comer international acclaim. Even so, Jodie Comer isn't quite a household name — yet.

Once and future basic cable golden duo Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira toplined AMC Networks’ meeting with the Television Critics Association on Tuesday, as The Walking Dead actors capped off a presentation of new and returning series that, in many respects, would have made as much sense in 2014 as it does in 2024.
Lincoln and Gurira were on hand to hype the zombie franchise’s sixth spinoff, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. But the growing tally of Walking Dead off-shoots isn’t the only indication of how valuable past properties and players remain to the AMC brands. The media company, a consortium of cable networks (AMC, We TV, Sundance, IFC) and specialty streamers (AMC+, Acorn TV, Allblk, Shudder) banked big on familiar faces and titles over the course of the afternoon — trotting out a new vehicle for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul star Giancarlo Esposito (Parish), announcing a...
