Pilot

Floyd Mooney is loosely based on the life Jamie Foxx. Mooney is a mid level club comic seeking to break out into movies but not be a sell out.

In this opener Mooney fires his Indian agent for getting the wrong type of movie roles such as a drag act. Mooney wants integrity and street credibility.

However a run in with a Hollywood producer with awkward racial tones pushes him back on the verge of the limelight which includes shaking Jamie Foxx's hand just after Foxx had sex with a hot lady.

In this pilot episode, the comedy is low key. In short it was not really funny.

Maybe it is me, but I am sick and tired of seeing movies and shows where black and white characters cannot even converse without everything coming off as racially awkward. In everyday life I come across people of different races and ethnicities and they seem to be able to communicate properly with each other but Hollywood is unable to do this for some reason.

The show feels derivative. I sense a little bit of Atlanta, some Ballers and a few side characters from Californication show up.
