For the shot where Queen Maeve shatters an armored truck, SPX filmed a real truck smashing into a steel pole that was later removed by VFX. Queen Maeve was then shot in front of a green screen in the same location and comped into the real folding truck.
To pull off a fight sequence with an invisible superhero, VFX had a stunt double in a green, VFX-tracking suit stand-in for Translucent for the majority of the fight rehearsal and VFX reference. They then pulled him out and Karl Urban did all of his own fight choreography fighting against nothing, repeating the same movements numerous times to capture all the shots.
Production Designer Dave Blass added a Latin inscription to the relief carving of The Seven in the hallway. It reads: "Fiat justitia ruat caelum," which translates to: "Let justice be done though the heavens fall."
The Vought International building is actually Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with a CGI addition to make it look like a skyscraper.
Translucent is an Eric Kripke creation, made up for the show, and does not appear in the comics version. In the comics, the original Seven include: The Homelander, Queen Maeve, A-Train, The Deep, Black Noir, Jack from Jupiter, and The Lamplighter.
