Jay Hernandez and Perdita Weeks in Magnum P.I. (2018)

Trivia

Magnum P.I.

Edit
Larry Manetti and Roger E. Mosley, who co-starred in the original show as Rick and TC, make several guest appearances in this remake series.
There are some crossovers between Magnum P.I. and Hawaii Five-0 (2010). Lieutenant Yoshi Tenaka states in the first episode, "if this is a kidnapping, it belongs to HPD and Five-O, not some private eye." Appearances are made by Kimee Balmilero as medical examiner Dr. Noelani Cunha, Katrina Law as Five-O's Agent Quinn Liu, and William Forsythe as former private eye Harry Brown, who was close friends with Steve MacGarrett's father. Finally, Taylor Wily returns as Kamekona for several episodes. These crossovers are in keeping with the spirit of the original Magnum P.I., starring Tom Selleck, which took over the studio space from the original Hawaii Five-O, starring Jack Lord, when that show ended its series run. It also provided local actors and crew from the original Five-O the opportunity to continue working.
CBS canceled Magnum P.I. in 2022. NBC then picked up the series for additional seasons. In June 2023, NBC canceled it again before the second half of season 5 aired.
In the first episode, Magnum crashes a different model of Ferrari than what was used on the first version of the show. When Magnum checks out another Ferrari the producers pay homage to the original series by using a 1983 308 GTS QV with the license plate reading "Robin1."
Zachary Knighton, who portrays Rick, is married to Betsy Phillips who portrays his character's love interest, Suzie.
