- No Nudity. In one episode a girl joking humps a man, both are clothed. Not explicit, very brief and meant to be humorous. A few strong sexual references, the worst being a joke about a "circle jerk"
- Alma does appear in a bra in about two scenes in first few episodes. She also shows up naked in a scene in child care but covers her breasts with her arms and crosses her legs out of embarrassment, mostly blocked by the children's heads.

- F-words, s-words, the terms "b--ch" and "ass" are used throughout the series, with the f-word being the favorite curse word at hand. Oftentimes, the f-word is used multiple times in a row. However overall there are only around 10-15 F words in the series. Tame for TV-MA. Not severe like the user votes suggest. Worst part is a character spells out C**t

- Alcohol is consumed in many episodes, and characters often get drunk. Alma bums a cigarette off of a woman, and they smoke together outside of a wedding reception. Alma almost admits to coming to her mother's attic to get high while she was in high school, but stops herself. Alma may or may not be an alcoholic.

- Alma is shown with her wrist slit multiple times. We hear references about her scars from the incident. Alma is also involved in a car crash that bludgeons her head, putting her in a coma and drawing blood. She later shows children her wounds. In one episode, Alma cuts her finger multiple times while chopping a carrot. Alma is accused of using self-harm/attempted suicide as an attention seeking method.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- Multiple intense car crash scenes happen throughout the series. In one particularly disturbing sequence, Alma's mother disintegrates into a corpse and rots away until nothing is left of her, only to be reborn as a fetus and then as a child, and finally, the woman she is in the present. This loops for a short time.
