This is not American tv

The Norwegians have made story telling into an art form. This isn't about happy endings and tied up ends, it's about telling a crazy story and doing it well. The ending was fiiiine, think before you whine. Did you enjoy the story? Did you appreciate the acting? If you were on the edge of your seat, you must have had a pretty good time.

Rushed conclusion to intriguing season
paccitto16 January 2019
The first 3 episodes of the third series were intriguing and looked to be setting up a better season than the last. I watched episode 4 not realising it was the finale, and it was as if they were suddenly told they had to conclude everything in one episode! It was rushed, full of gaps, and left a few threads hanging unsatisfactorily. What the hell happened guys?! The series deserved a better ending and leaves a bitter taste for those who have followed it through.

Good way to end things

Don't know what everyone's complaining about, seems like a good ending with a lot of tied up loose ends.

what a letdown.
noirink-1205429 January 2019
Shame - i really liked the first season, i should have stopped there. but i wanted to know how it ends. so i sat the whole thing through.

well i was not worth it. it felt like they decided after episode 3 that the show had to end with episode 4. basically it ended right in the middle of the story. there are loose ends, rushed "goodbyes" and an incredible forced "pay off" scene... what a waste.

Pointless!

Feel like there's a joke being played on me. I've been waiting for episode 5 and just found out there isn't going to be one. I don't know what they were thinking. There was no ending. An absolute gem of a show ruined by stupidity. Fans have been let down. This show could of gained a cult following in years to come but now it won't even be remembered.

Terrible ending
ChrisManuel9 January 2019
Thats a shame. 3 "seasons" wasted on that ending. I wish i hadnt even started watching it all those years ago. What a waste of time. Nothing explained... only more confusion.

We need to invent a new term beyond "Jumping the Shark " to describe this phenomenon
dianneking-9049418 June 2019
I am left gutted ( something which Fortitude has always excelled at ) . Here I am , settling in to the 4th episode of Fortitude 3 , thinking after the first few great episodes I am travelling along another great character development and intriguing plot line . I very quickly find out this is the final episode ever wtf ?? ( I have invested hours of my life in this programme ) and watching now feeling I must have missed 2 previous episodes as nothing seems to make sense, there are big plot gaps eg how did Dennis Quaid get sucked into Elsa's web after being a sacrifice only an episode ago ? It felt to me a lot like the disappointment I felt with final GOT ( why rushed , where is the resolution and understanding of why we invested in these characters over so many years , these fantastic actors and your loyal following of viewers surely deserve more ????? , only to be dished up like a Weight watchers ready freeze meal ) . Having said that , hats off to Dennis Quaid , who after his high point in the Meg Ryan years , has come back proving that maturity and age can only make you get better and hotter 😊 Richard Dormer is up there with Mel and Jack re crazy / mad eyes , he is a legend . I remember watching my final episode of Mad Men and being a " tad " disappointed that it didn't necessarily complete the story enough and uphold the excellent standard we viewers expected and being a bit 🤓 After final GOT and final Fortitude there is new term to be developed beyond Fonzie " jumping the shark " to describe this recent phenomenon of destroying a carefully plotted , paced and excellent series by wrapping it up in a final 2 episodes of epic fail, rush and confusion . Anyone got any ideas ? " falling into the black hole " ? " the writer has dementia soz, let's wrap it up " or " Jon Snow you know nothing , so PO " Ideas anyone ? I hope not to see the same thing happen to future excellent quality series we viewers invest our time and love into ...

This season is such an embarrassment
dieselripley17 July 2019
I really hate when they end a good series is a rushed and incredibly lame way. This is exactly what they did with Fortitude. The main actors should be ashamed. They messed up a decent albeit odd series with some rushed half arsed script and Dennis Quaid just got worse. They should have just either left alone or gave it a proper finale.

No one should have their name associated to this season
karmenfrlan5 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I appreciate having the name recognition of Denis Quaid but it distracts from the story. Season 1 was great - creepy with the potential ob being timely with climate change and the release of unknown bacteria.

Sesson 2 was a little over the top with the serial killer and shaman v. Dan story lines.

Season 3 being shorter - a third of the other seasons almost - I expected more. And I kept hoping even as I was distracted by Denis Quaid. Big props fpr getting Michelle Failey though! The Sylvia (aka updated blood countess like character) was interesting as well.

We had no background on the "others" like Syvlia and Dan.

The ending was utter crap. Sylvia and Michael, losing Vincent and Natalie going like Liam and Margaret from season 1.
