A fitting tribute to the 90's
10 March 2019 | by asb_deutschSee all my reviews

Gotham has been going exceptionally strong so far in its finale season, and "Ace Chemicals" seems to continue this trend. What this episode did very well was establishing prominent directions for certain characters, while leaving some reasonably in the dark for future development. One flaw is that like some episodes of the past tried to weave too a plot thread too many at times. David Mazouz and Camren Bicondova have interesting arcs, nonetheless. The signature mature themes and high-production budget was evident, and aside from rushed narrative's to properly catch up, Gotham returned with a great edition to an already stable season.

A fitting tribute to classics like Batman (1989) and Batman Begins (2005). I can still recall the scene in the original classic where the Joker falls in the slurry. Though the spill was looking fake in this episode, but this is what you can expect in a TV production. Though I give enormous credit to Cameron Monaghan for incorrigible acting, whether it is Jerome or Jeremiah. I thought that no one could beat Heath Ledger's acting skills but Cameron displayed exemplary skills. WB wouldn't have had the required script/dialogue delivered had it not been for Cameron!

This episode =7.5/10 This Season: 48.5/7 = 6.93
