And we got one more reason to watch this show -mr. landlord, Currie Graham! How is it possible that guy in his fifties has such alluring, unearthly voice? How is it possible in any age?

The Competition

It is an unofficial day of competition among the training officers to score more felonies. Talia refuses to participate, but Chen notes that her tough TO, Tim Bradford, is obsessed to win and using the 911 attending Nell Forrester to get the best cases. Meanwhile, Nolan is feeling jealous of Chen.

"The Roundup" is the fifth episode of "The Rookie" with good action. In the conclusion, Chen understands the behavior of Tim. My vote is seven.

Warning: Spoilers
Show starts out with them announcing a competition for the most felony arrests - arrests where they are getting "points" for these arrests. Quotas and points have been illegal in law enforcement for a while now.

Nolan finds a gun in possession of a rich playboy and hauls him in for it - in spite of the fact that possession of a firearm is not illegal under the 2nd amendment. Even though it is California, the firearm was in his home and not on his person.

Moments later, Tim illegally obtains a blood sample from a crash victim who was driving erratically, but exhibiting no other symptoms of drunk driving - likely a fourth amendment violation (as well as being really douchy).

Just a few minutes later, Tim is saying how it isn't about the points, it's about winning and getting points proving that he's already the best. He then proceeds to arrest a bunch of guys in an armored car and presumably with his bodycam on says, "that's 14 more points!" In court, this bodycam footage might serve to invalidate much of the arrest in the eyes of a jury as, again, point-based arrests are illegal.
