In Times is Tough in Musky Holler, a comic strip shows images of a number of townsfolk who have been wronged by Lester. These appear to be cartoon versions of characters from iconic horror films, including Hereditary, Get Out and Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
In the episode, Times Is Tough in Musky Holler, the victims are buried up to their heads with Videocameras above, recording them. This is just like in the first Creepshow Movie, in the story, Something To Tide You Over.
In Night of the Paw, the names in the guest book are fictional characters who dealt with dead bodies including Herbert West and Francesco Dellamorte.
In Night of the Paw, the score borrows heavily from Bartok's Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta, which was featured prominently in The Shining (1980)
Night of the Paw is another adaptation of the classic W. W. Jacobs short story, "The Monkey's Paw" (1902).
