- Much less dark and scary than the previous two games.

- On the the second floor, a gem ghost is using the toilet and Luigi vacuums him in the stall the ghost was using. Luigi does not care about privacy
Profanity
- The Egyptian Ghost Serpci seemingly says "oh, s***!" on multiple occasions over the course of the boss battle.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- The Game Over screen shows Luigi and all of his friends trapped inside pictures, and then King Boo appears to taunt the player. This can be extremely scary for some, and it goes on par with the first game's beta infamous "Game Over" screen.
