Sex & Nudity

  • There're some quick passing sexual references that are under detailed in nature but are usually comedic.
  • Nudity is somewhat frequent in the show (usually limited to buttocks and side breasts), but is non-sexualized within the context of the show.
  • A group of monkeys see a main character naked. Nothing is shown, but they remark that his genitals are visible.
  • A character is referred to as a "sex addict." Played for laughs.
  • A character fantasizes about two sisters being romantically involved.
  • A female character is tackled by a a male character. As he holds her stomach side down the the ground, she tells him to "Watch where you put your hands." Nothing suggestive shown, as she is simply trying to trick him into getting off her.
  • Female characters are briefly shown in their undergarments making wine.
  • All female characters wear outfits which show a lot of skin and emphasizing their legs and often their breasts.
  • Most of the nudity only involves naked stone-covered (i.e. petrified) humans that look like statues, so it's very mild. Nothing different than what you'd see in a museum or something. Not fanservice-y in any way.
  • Some of the female characters are intentionally drawn with clothing that is somewhat revealing, and in positions that are suggestive. Women's clothing often rides higher on the legs and camera angles sometimes come dangerously close to showing the pubic area by riding below characters in some scenes.
  • A few times naked men are on screen either for story reasons or comedic ones, but full frontal nudity is carefully and consistently avoided.
  • Two male characters pee in a jar and a female character watches. Streams of urine are seen, but no genitals.
  • A male character runs to the bathroom with diarrhea. He's seen lying on the ground with his pants down, there's a black splotch covering his crotch. This is played for laughs.
  • The main character refers to genitals in a non-sexual manner (calling them "dick" and "pee-pee").

Violence & Gore

  • The main protagonist rips off a chunk of his thumb. Somewhat bloody but brief.
  • Violence is very subdued and is mostly stylized fantasy battles with little to no blood. There are some comedic slapstick scenes as well.
  • One character is stabbed in the chest with a spear. There's a little blood, but he survives.
  • There is mild violence is present throughout the series.
  • Characters use weapons (spears, katanas, guns) and fists to fight each other, but not bloody or graphic.
  • In the first episode, a mysterious worldwide event turns all humans into stone; people are killed or injured when their bodies are damaged in stone form.
  • A male character pokes his friend in the eyes when he realizes his crush and a young girl are naked. This is done for laughs.

Profanity

  • "Shit", "Ass", "Damn", "Hell", and "Dick" are all said infrequently, coupled with various childish insults.
  • In the episode where chrome is introduced, a character rapidly swears in amazement.
  • Chrome is the main offender throughout the series and curses quite a bit.
  • Very mild language in TV-14 rated main program.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The two main characters make wine and drink it. It should be noted that they're teens. One of them says it's underage drinking. The other says they're actually 3700 years old, so it isn't.
  • Lots of references to the "Miracle drug" and in the first episode there is underage alcohol consumption but technically they are 3700 years old so it isn't.
  • An antibiotic is referred as a "drug".

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The entirety of the world is frozen in stone while remaining alive. This can be described from viewers as what seems to be a living hell for the petrified victim
  • Some blood, but very mild

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • When Taiju Ooki finds out that his friend is still alive he attempts to hug him but Senkuu rejects it and only it shows Taiju's Buttocks.
  • In an episode where Senku gives Ruri the sulfa drug it looks really weird
  • In a few instances characters are drawn in a needlessly seductive way. One character takes a white medicine while kneeling in a way that for a moment is very suggestive.
  • In a couple of scenes in season two, Chrome stuffs weeds and a battery into his pants, making it look like he has an erection.
  • A male character panics when he realizes his crush is naked. His friend tells him "No one cares if you're buck naked or if your dick is hanging out." He responds by shouting "She does not have a dick!"

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The petrification made everyone in the world into stone. This might be a little frightening for some younger viewers, as the idea is pretty scary.
