Death in Paradise (2011)
The show is back on track with the original charm
Seasons 1 and 2 were the best. I would buy the dvd's for those two season. The seasons with Kris and Ardal were not a good fit. The character of Ruby was annoying. The teamwork and the fun seemed to go away when they took over. I stopped watching the show long before Ardal left. Once I saw onlne that Ardal left, I came back to watch it (series 9 episode 5). Rafe fits this show. The writing is back on track, The charm, the humor and the teamwork is back. And Ruby has finally grown up. She is behaving like a grown woman rather than a empty headed teenager. I'm looking forward to future episodes.
Gajokggiri Wae Irae (2014)
Excellent Family Drama
Why can't Hollywood produce a family drama even halfway as good as this? I laughed, I cried and I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. Some parts made me laugh so hard I cried. Some parts made me cry many tears. All the back stories of the cast were interesting and engaging. All the actors were excellent. I did not expect much from the 2 Kpop idols in this drama but they brought their A-game. They were believable in their parts. All the actors were everything the part required them to be. There were no weak links. Over the course of this drama you learned about their strengths and weaknesses. The characters experienced personal growth. I felt I was on a journey with them and I was sorry to see it end. I will watch it again at another time.
Midsomer Murders: A Vintage Murder (2015)
Best episode so far this season
This episode was the best so far this season. It was enjoyable and thoroughly entertaining. When the solution was revealed, it made sense. I was concerned when the new cast was implemented. I was afraid the quality of the series might suffer. But this is even better than the original. Also the original series did not have anyone of color in it. Which is unrealistic in this day and age. The PC's in the prior series didn't add much to the story, They could've been written out and the storyline would not have been impacted. This series PC is a vital part of the storyline. Kudos to the cast and the writers for a job well done!!
