"Income Tax Sappy" is a gem of a short. Everybody's performance in this is as great as ever and almost all the gags are top notch. The premise: The stooges decide they can cheat on their income tax in ingenious ways and conclude that if they can do it, they can teach others to do it too. With this new "tax-cheating" establishment, the Stooges become rich culminating in a VERY fancy dinner party which their guest, Mr. Cash (played by the wonderful Benny Rubin) attends much to his eventual consternation (it is not wise to cut off your dinner guest's beloved beard). Among the funniest gags: Shemp doing the old "Human adding machine" bit, Moe tangling with a foot-long sandwich which suddenly develops a mind of its own and bites back, and all the Stooges' attempts to appease Mr. Cash (not to mention conceal the fact that they have given him a close shave) who finally reveals himself to be an undercover man from the IRS! If you love the Stooges, this short will leave you in stitches!

Many Curly fans are disappointed with his 1945-46 performances during which his health got worse and worse to the point where he was no longer his old energetic self. However, his performance in this is as good as one could hope for (no one can play a maharajah better than Curly!) and fans of Curly and the stooges in general would love this short (which I consider to be their best of 1946). The plot: The stooges are sailors who wind up in ancient times and are sentenced to death by the ruler. Luckily, lady Rita is there to help them escape. Using their wits (disguising Curly as a maharajah) and their fighting abilities (they later face a band of cutthroat pirates who challenge them to a game of knife-throwing), they are eventually victorious. As mentioned, Curly's performance in this is just wonderful and there are memorable sight gags throughout. I consider this and "Fuelin' Around" to be director Edward Bernds's best Stooges shorts. RECOMMENDED

In this short (another the Stooges did that makes blatant fan of Hitler), the Stooges are fix-it men who are assigned to repair the wiring at a mansion which is actually the hideout of a group of Nazis. The Stooges are their usual inept selves particularly when they try to find the trouble by sending Curly to scale a telephone pole resulting in some of the most violent scenes ever filmed by the Stooges (Moe and Larry apply a pipe wrench to Curly's nose and press his nose against a revolving grindstone; Curly accidentally stabs Moe in the scalp, ear, and (gulp!) eye (shudder!); Moe burns Curly's rear with a blow torch; Curly is electrocuted by the wires to the point where they can light up a light bulb by sticking it in his ear). Eventually, though, their ineptness leads to victory on their behalf when they destroy the house, foul up the Nazi's directions over their air radio, and generally render the Nazis incapable. Very funny stuff, if you can stomach the over-the-top violence in this one (the spike in the eye bit repulses almost everyone who watches it). RECOMMENDED

The 3 Stooges (no matter what the trio consisted of) were some of the most gifted actors/comedians ever to hit the silver screen and this short is all the proof I need. Related in flashback, the Stooges are travelling salesmen who are rejected by one homeowner after another until they finally come across a spooky inventor's mansion who enlists them to keep an eye on the place while he steps out. No sooner do the Stooges agree when a group of spies break in disguised as frightening spooks. Each hair-raising (and hilarious) encounter the Stooges experience tops the other and the action hits its peak with its explosive, bomb-throwing (and pie throwing) finale. Fans take note: Curly is also at his funniest in this short particularly when he takes down the morse code message (Moe: "What'd it say?" Curly: "Eh-eh-eh-eh-eh...."). Another Stooges short guaranteed to have their fans rolling in the aisles!

Dare I say it? Another one of the Stooges' greatest films. The premise is simple: The stooges are all in love with the same girl and don't know it... until they each go to meet her at her apartment. But the main plot isn't the only thing entertaining about this wonderful film. Indeed, the film's greatest laughs come from the film's set-up... the Stooges trying to make their own apartment "presentable" for their sweetheart. Some hilarious if painful gags result from this... Moe getting shot across the scalp by a handgun which Shemp is using in place of a hammer, Moe getting a very large number of tacks in his rear end after Larry accidentally fires them there with a rifle (don't ask) and Moe swallowing a mouthful of tacks (again Larry is to blame) which must be removed by his swallowing a magnet! Also look for a scene during the climactic fight at the end where Moe stuffs a fireplace bellows into Larry's mouth and proceeds to "pump" inflating Larry's stomach like a hot air balloon! Funny, funny, funny. Before I reveal too much more, I highly recommend this gem. See for yourself!

Excluding a cameo appearance he has in "Hold That Lion", this is really the last 3 Stooges film ever to feature Curly. It is a satisfying swan song... if Curly had to end his acting career with a film, I'm glad it was this one. The premise is basically re-used from an earlier Stooges short "Hoi Polloi" (i.e. two professors bet whether environment or heredity determines social behavior and use the Stooges to settle their wager) but this film is, in my opinion at least, superior to "Hoi Polloi" thanks largely to Moe's acting contributions (he seems to be at his most vicious here; among other things, he dumps his cigar ashes down Curly's throat) and some new gags (the memorable dining table scene). Curly does not appear in the film's final moments (he suffered a stroke before those scenes were filmed) and the film suffers a little from that but this is still one of my very favorite Stooge flicks... historical aspects aside. RECOMMENDED

It was indeed this very short that made me the Stooges fan I am today (which is a considerably large one, by the way). I had just started taking an interest in the Stooges "unique" films when I chanced to view this one. After it was over, I was laughing so hard I wanted to see as many Stooges shorts as possible... if they were all as great as this. Anyway, here's the premise... to escape the police, the Stooges masquerade as plumbers. The residents of a mansion call their bluff and enlist them to repair a decidedly nasty leak in their house. Their plumbing skills are put to the test... and they fail with flying colors. Larry digs a trench in the backyard (to find the shut-off valve) and Moe & Curly connect a plumbing pipe with an electricity pipe causing water to shoot from every electrical outlet in the house. When the Stooges leave, the house is in worse shape than when they arrived. Dudley Dickerson gives a memorable performance as the bedazzled cook ("This house has sure gone crazy"). A must for any Stooge fan. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

For those of you who don't know what "quintessential" means, it basically means, the most perfect example of something; in this case, what the Stooges is all about. And this short is definitely that. It takes a fairly simple premise (the Stooges try to do something nice for their friend, Bill, but all hell breaks loose when they get to work at it) and expands it into a non-stop series of hilarious gags, situations, and pratfalls. In particular, look for Larry looking into a hole in the wall (into which he has dropped the knob for a TV set) with a lit match in his hand. Moe berates him for "playing with fire" and, as a result, inadvertantly tosses the match into the wall's hole and the boys then must deal with both putting the TV set back together and preventing the house from burning to a cinder! When Shemp attempts to put the TV antenna on the house's roof, their efforts do not fare any better. And, of course, when Bill finally arrives home, he does not take kindly to their errors. If you're unfamiliar with the Stooges, this is one short you should view above others. It's a classic! RECOMMENDED.

"Fuelin' Around" (1949) is one of the Stooges best and one of Ed Bernds' best directing jobs. It is easily one of the best 3 Stooges films with Shemp (not that other films with Shemp are necessarily bad; I strongly disagree with those who say that the Stooges without Curly are not worth watching). Anyway, in this great film, a man named Professor Sneed (played by wonderful Stooges bit actor Emil Sitka) has perfected a rocket fuel which enemy agents who desire the fuel's formula try to steal. The problem is Larry and Sneed have matching hairstyles so HE (and the other Stooges) are kidnapped instead. Eventually, the real professor is also kidnapped at which point the Stooges are revealed as frauds and must make their escape before their doom hits. Great acting performances by EVERYONE in this film (the stooges, Sitka, McIntyre, Van Zandt, Dent, Mahoney) and, as stated earlier, great direction. This film adds another feather to the Stooges' cap of wonderful films. They seldom get better than this. RECOMMENDED.

This is easily one of the BEST Stooges shorts ever. The premise: Curly and Larry take Moe on a hunting vacation for his nerves but a wandering bear makes things difficult for them. It is unique in that it moves at a slower pace than many of their other films (at least, from my POV) but it's still quite hilarious! Some of their best gags come from this little gem such as Curly and Larry performing as the "Original 2-Man Quartet" (with an out-of-control trombone slide), the boys trying to seal a menacing bear inside a cave by blocking the entrance with rocks (inevitably leading to both Moe and the bear being knocked cold by decidedly misthrown boulders), and Curly asking Larry if hunting is allowed. Larry replies, "Sure. I just saw a sign: Fine for Hunting" (a great verbal gag). This short also shows some of Moe's best acting abilities. One practically sympathizes with him as he unsuccessfully tries to soothe his "jangled nerves". I highly recommend this to any Stooges fan. Give it a try; you'll not be sorry you did. And watch out for that car driving bear!

This is my above all favorite Disney short,i especially like the Three Siamese Cats(the thirds is at the end) but the two main one's,Richard and Milton,and their own private Meow language.It's hilarious!

This truly was the best movie of 1998.The detail the director puts into it,ie showing guns as an everyday tool,or the multi-races around the Coffee Shop after the cleansing.Edward Norton deserved the Oscar for this,not Roberto!How hard is it to play a reformed NeoNazi well?VERY!And Norton does it with such finesse,you'd think he'd originally been a NeoNazi!The ending,everything,was tearful.A truly powerful movie.

This is a great show,but was cancelled before its time,naturally.I especially love Ezekiel getting acquainted with life in the Nineties,like him asking about the NFL's Baltimore Ravens playing the Carolina Panthers.He's totally surprised to hear such names.

To be truthful, this really wasn't as good as the original Predator,but of course living up to the first is very hard,if not impossible.The characters aren't likable,or flawed,they're just there and they have their missions and they do it,mindlessly and as boring as possible.Only Gary Busey's character isn't cardboard,to be honest.

The only benefit of this one is that it is,kinda less gory.The first one we saw heads blown off and the like,but really this one isn't so horrid that it's disgusting,but otherwise rent it only if you want to see both movies,then sit back and hope the 3rd is better.

This movie is bizarre,gross,and at times relatively funny.But i must say i enjoyed it! Upon entering the Egyptian temple of the damned and reading the book of the dead,a cursed mummy is awaken and plague is put upon humanity.As well,a bunch of Americans who opened a box get cursed to be sacrificed for this shredded corpse. After that is gets pretty silly,but i must say it gave me what i expected. Brendan Fraser gives the performance everyone expected as the strong,silly and debonaire Legionnaire.Go see it,it's good.

Well,i personally am a large fan of the Alien series.I saw Jim Cameron's excellent Aliens first,then David Fincher's mediocre Alien3,then lastly i saw Alien by Ridley Scott.Now i have seen Alien:Resurrection,and i must say this is one of the better ones.Despite the fact it has the usual questions about the aliens(How did they breathe underwater?And since WHEN do they cocoon people in a black-tar mixture?When did they ever sound like Tapes being rewound?)and of course an Alien trademark of the coolest people dying heroic deaths. So what do i think?I think it's a notch above Alien 3,oh yes,but of course it was pretty much below Aliens and Alien.But you can't top the classics,you can only hope to be Par.

This movie ranks as one of my all-time faves,because unlike most action movies where Marines go in,shoot something and leave,Jim Cameron gave these guys heart and soul!From the Mighty Sarge Apone,who loves the Corps down to his toes,to the lowly and inexplicably disappearing Private Spunkmeyer(I still love that name) everyone has a decent line,and you get some clue as to what they feel or how they are.Vaszquez and Drake where street hoods sentanced to the Marines,Hudson is the Ultimate Badass,the list is lengthy and good. Everyone's death serves a purpose and is well portrayed. Take it from me:Titanic was NOT Cameron's greatest creation(Only the most commercialized).This was.

I gotta admit,some of the "Pop-Out-Boo!" scenes in this movie DID make me jump,and Wes Craven was good at hiding some of it.Not all of it though.It was a good movie,with a well done plot and good camera angles on the murders,so it doesn't seem sadistic or such.The only real problem i have,is that in the end,a bad guy(not gonna say who!) says he can get away with this because he can blame violence on TV.This has been done quite a lot in movies and TV,particularly in one episode of Law and Order(where it was done better).All in all,i say go see it.You'll scream,you'll laugh,you'll cry.And you won't be bored.

I personally enjoyed this movie to the fullest,as it was relatively well written and no-one in this movie was spared.Sure,it had its predictabilities,but most movies DO!And the action,particularly when the SWAT team moves in and when all the guests at the party are moving through the sewer,is very well done,and the ending is great.Tom Sizemore in particular shines as usual.
