Jack & Jill (1999–2001)
Amazing television series
11 January 2001
This show is one of my faves on the air right now and im glad it has returned for a 2nd season. Amanda Peet and Ivan Sergei are incredible together and have so much chemistry they should win the nobel prize. The supporting cast, Sarah Paulson, Simon Rex, and Justin Kirk, are also terrific, helped by terrific, sharp writing, and terrific direction.

I hope the show continues for a lot of years to come, try it, you will fall in love.

The in Crowd (2000)
A suprisingly effective thriller
23 July 2000
From its opening sequence in a hospital for the mentally unstable to the final, nailbiting, confrontation, The In Crowd delivers. The plot revolves around, Adrien, a young woman who is released from the aforementioned hospital, and as a condition of her release gets a job at a posh beach club for the rich and spoiled. Susan Ward, formerly of Sunset Beach, delivers an excellent performance as Brittany Foster, the defacto leader of a group of rich kids who have nothing better to do than party. Brittany befriends Adrien and slowly weaves a spell around the former mental patient, soon Adrien will come to regret knowing Brittany, to say anymore would spoil this movie, which is a suprisingly enteratining movie.

wasted potential
9 July 2000
After reading the very entertaining novel by Nelson De Mille, I was prepared for 2 hours of action and suspense, boy, was I wrong. The movie, which differs quite dramatically from the novel, is a lukewarm effort at best, Travolta plays Brenner an investigator with the Army who is assigned the task of finding out who killed the daughter of the base General, played by Joseph Cromwell, Brenner is teamed with former lover Sara Sunhill, in a one dimensional, flat performance by Madeline Stowe. A major problem with the movie is a distinct lack of chemistry between the 2 leads, you just dont believe they had been lovers at one point in time. While the movie is faithful in recreating the shocking double life of the victim, it falls flat at the climax, an unbelievable sequence in a rainstorm as the murderer is revealed, if youve read the book you will know who the killer is. All in all a most disappointing effort.

Scream 3 (2000)
Wraps things up with a nice, twist
6 February 2000
From the frantic opening 10 minutes to the final, shocking showdown, Scream 3 is an entertaining, conclusion to the succesful horror trilogy begun back in 1996. The plot centers around the movie, Stab 3, in production in Hollywood, Stab 3 is the movie within a movie about the murders depecited in Gale Weather's novels. A killer begins offing the cast members according to their deaths in the script, Dewey is a technical advisor to director Roman Bridger, Gale Weathers becomes a police advisor, and Sydney is drawn into the fray after hiding out in the woods. To say anymore would spoil the suprise and suspense, one thing though, if you havent seen Scream 1 you will be totally lost.

A gripping thriller with a horrific, ending.
5 February 2000
From its attention catching opening to the horrifying ending, Arlington Road delivers a powerful punch. Jeff Bridges plays Michael Farraday, a history professor at George Washington U in DC, after saving the life of their son, Farraday meets the new neighbors, Oliver and Cheryl Lang, who come across as nice and friendly at first. To say more would surely spoil the movie, Bridges and Tim Robbins deliver strong, solid performances, and Joan Cusack is just as good as Cheryl.

Forget what you,ve heard, nothing will prepare you for the shocking, horrific ending.

Notting Hill (1999)
All can enjoy
2 June 1999
I totally loved this movie, as a male, I am not ashamed to admit, that I am a romantic at heart, Julia Roberts is at her best in years and Hugh Grant is as always charming and gives a great performance, I even liked this better than 4 Weddings and a Funeral. One thing though, this movie is for all people, not just American, English, etc.. love knows no national boundaries. I have been to London and fell in love with the city and the English people. Enjoy the movie, it will touch your heart.
