Hannibal (2001)

No good!
6 January 2002
What I really liked about The Silence of The Lambs was the way it scared me without showing much real violence on screen. That's what I missed a lot in Hannibal.

Hannibal has more violence on screen, and I don't like that. Some of it disgusted me totally, and that made the movie less scary. I wasn't scared, just disgusted.

All in all, Hannibal dissapointed me completely. This was one of my least favourite movies of 2001.

Seth (1999)

Definitely worth watching

This is the tale of a small Danish village, which is disturbed when a stranger comes to town. The story mostly takes place at the local bar, where the stranger rents a room. As the locals find out more and more about the stranger, the intensity builds. Lars Mikkelsen, who also stars in Ole Christian Madsen's 2001 movie "En Kaerlighedshistorie", has the role of Seth, the stranger who comes to town, and he does a great job. Peter Schroeder is also worth watching. It's probably hard to get to right now, but if you ever get the chance to see it, don't hesitate.

The worst war movie in a long time...
31 March 2001
Enemy At The Gates shines in its brilliant sniper scenes, but they are very brief. These scenes doesn't hide the fact that the rest of the movie is a complete waste of time. The director doesn't seem to be able to agree with himself wether it's a war movie or a love story. He should have went with the war movie, bacause the love story is embarrassingly bad and clumsily told.
