two beautiful women & the byrds
20 August 2004
This movie seems to have a lot going for it. The stunning photography of gorgeous Los Angeles; a charming theme song by The Byrds; two of the most beautiful women you could imagine , Sharon Tate and Claudia Cardinale; plus some funny folk in supporting roles. Strangely it misses. It just goes on and on with no laffs, and no particular purpose. Sharon , As in The wrecking Crew, proves she had great potential in comedy, and is so gorgeous you want to see more of her. So I would recommend this movie only for Sharon Tate fans. If you arent a fan, you will be disapointed as there is really nothing else here worthwhile. I waited to see the movie for a long time, and felt ripped off.

Foxtrot (1982)
superb porno chic
17 August 2004
Cecil Howard, who makes the best erotic movies ever, returns with his usual multi vignette production. Shot in New York, with lots of interesting shots that you may not even find in mainstram films, Howard is a true filmmaker, as opposed to being a pornographer. Tells of a bunch of folk and their interwined lives on New Years Eve. Veronica Hart, Samantha Fox, marlene Willoughby. and Vanessa del rio are very memorable. Aside from David Morris, none of the leading men are good looking, yet these ladies give incredible passionate sexual performacnes, as well as terrific acting jobs, particularly Hart and Marlene Willoughby. Hart and Fox are at the height of their legendary beauty. Foxtrot is def. recommended hardcore fair.

Enjoyable multi character film
12 August 2004
If you like multi character movies, this will not disapoint. The mainly unknown cast are all rather likeable folks. and Paul Jabara is very good in his only screen role. YOu will be touched by the scene of him and a lovley young girl who are locked in a stairway but end up boogooing anyway. I especially love the plot about the fat guy and the tall thin schoolteacher who are mismatched by a dating service. Except for a few drug scenes, this is a terrific family picture, too. And the best you will ever see Debra Winger on screen. She looks soft and pretty. The music is very good, strong voices and tunes, much better than the dance music of the last 20 years. Check out this movie for some good light entertainment.

A GREAT UNDERRATED HORROR MOVIE
12 August 2004
Unique well made horror flick that will defintiely creep you out. an all star cast and New York city at a great time, the late 70s are enuff of an attraction but you also get to see Tom Berringer, Beverly D'angelo(in a sexually heated performance), Jeff Goldblum and Christopher Walken before their major stardom. I went to see it in 77 cause lovely Deborah Raffin plays the heroines best friend and she is very good in her small role. All the old timers are superb but I esp. like Sylvia Miles and Burgess Meredith and Ava Gardner is really memorable as the gorgeous but dishonest real estate agent. If you want to see an unfrogettable, one of a kind horror movie watch this. Though it received terrible reviews in its time, it is one of the best films of the 197os, in retrospect.

very good though not widely seen
6 August 2004
Unforgettable, very well done depticition of decadent 1920s Hollywood. Raquel Welch is superb as the desperate, sweet mistress of a deeply disturbed overweight and washed up comic named Jolly Grimm, ably played by James Coco. To resuscitate his career, Jolly throws a party that ends in tragedy. Very loosley based on Fatty Arbuckles story, this unforgettable and devastating film features fine support from Perry King as a Valentiniesque actor, and especailly from Miss Tiffany Bolling, as a lovely but unhappy film starlet. All in all, a class A effort that should have gotten a better recption at the time, but may well emerge as a cult classic. It is newly released on DVD , which should add to the fine film.

great cornfest
5 August 2004
Someone mentioned that Harvey was an unexplained vogue, but I shake my head in disbelief at all the unexplaiend vogues of the last 20 years, such as Demi MOre, Madonna, Meg Ryan, Julia roberts, Eddy Murphy,Tom Cruise, and on and on how celebrity has fallen! What do you people see in these uncharismatic nothings? Anyhow, Harvey is quite good as a drifer who takes up with Jane Fonda, in rare early great form as a very bad girl who turns out good. Capucine and Babs Stanwyick have the roles of their careers. The ending actually brought a tear to my eye. This great trashy movie has actually gotten better with age. Try to check it out and decide for yourself.

entertaining old chestnut
5 August 2004
almost as good as Janes other 62 release, A walk on the wild side, chapman Report is what passed as an adult film in 1962. Janes storyline is as flat as her acting, and Shelleys is only fair. This is definitely the British Mssrs Bloom and Johns film. Glynis' comic take with Ty Hardin is very hilarious, while the stunningly beautiful, superbly talented Bloom rises above the material, giving an Oscar worthy memorable performance as a nymphomaniac. If you can get this on DVD, and fast forward through Jane's sequences, except for the flashback scene("I'm not! I'm not!) you will have a great picture, with equal amounts of laughter and tears.

Astaires best film-and best partner(vera ellen)
5 August 2004
Three little words is a very entertaining, though somewhat forgotten musical about the great overlooked songwriting team of Kalmar and Ruby. It is pure fiction, but nevertheless very fun and entertaining. As Astaries wife, Miss Vera Ellen again proves she was the best dancer of em all. And quite a beauty and singer, also, esp. on Thinking of you. Speaking of beauty, other gorgeous women like Arleen Doll, Gayle Robbins, and Miss Gloria De Haven perform some incredibly beautiful songs, like Whos sorry now. And a young doll named Debby Reynolds sings I wanna be loved by you, the hit song of Helen Kane, looking and sounding just like Ms. Kane. Trust me, you will love this musical. Soundtrack album is available, also.

over produced over loud trash
2 August 2004
The movie is awful. Having never seen the original, I wonder if it was as bad as this. The tV series was only average, but any one episode is a masterpiece compared to this. And they couldn't even get beautiful girls? Farrah and Jaclyn were gorgeous, but the best looking of these, drew, is only cute. Demi Moore's comeback turns out to be a joke. She is buff, but in the way a guy is buff. Soft curvy girls look much better than Demi whatever age she is. It is a never ending , unbelievably loud mishmash, not even humorous. I am only hopeful that the failure of this flick will mean they cancel part 3. I read they spent 120 million dollars on this. And we complain about the destitute we cant feed. Shameful.

I miss this terrific film
30 July 2004
I haven't seen this in a while, and miss this rarely seen pic, which deserves a cult following. Deborah Raffin is outstanding as a gorgeous young girl with strange feelings for her Dad. She gets involved with an unhappy alcoholic writer, played by David Janssen. Brenda Vaccaro is outstanding as her beautiful but embittered friend who is desperate for a man. And Melinda Mercouri is memorable as a lovely lesbian. They knew they were making a piece of trash here, and it is well worth your time. Good job. I esp. like those corny singers at the end of the film which seem to have stepped out of a 1960s movie!Deborah is good and she is fortunate to have such a great ensemble cast to support her. Enjoy!

Young Adam (2003)
DISAPOINTING and really quite dumb
23 April 2004
I went expecting some hardcore sex between big name actors(like in Intimacy, which was far superior), but instead got a dull below average soft core porn flick, with the usual faked sex.Why is this NC-17 (the equivalent of an X) instead of just an R rating here in America?I have seen a lot more in old movies like Looking for mr. Goodbar than in this rubbish. Why was Tilda singled out for showing so much? She always shows flesh, actually she was more naked in some terrible feminist movie I saw a coupla years back, called Female Perversions. Ewan just shows his penis for a coupla seconds. And if you think these actors are "artists" just showing all for their art, remember actors' contracts stipulate that the more flesh they show, the higher their paycheck is. Makes you think huh?(remember Halle Berry got an extra 3 million for showing her breasts in some awful John Travolta movie a while back) It is rather ridiculous that every woman Ewan comes in contact with drops her drawers immeditately, considering that he is just an average looking guy after all. As an American , I looked forward to a fascianting European movie but though it was better than our overprouduced, childish trash it just didnt cut it for me. NOne of the characters are even probed deeply, you just feel neutral about everyone in this picture. The only interest was seeing the superb actors instead of the no talent American "stars", but otherwise , if you dont care if a movie is foreign or domestic, I would say just pass this one by and stay home and watch some R rated nudie on late nite cable than waste 10 bucks.

worthwhile debut feature
13 February 2004
Kill me Tomorrow is the worthwhile feature film debut by director Patrick McGuinn, who was behind the acclaimed shorts Soda Pop and Sperm Whale. Lushly filmed in upstate New York, this low budget horror film is a cut above the rest for it's use of some unexpected and shocking surprises usually not found in the genre. Veteran Colleen O'Neill has a worthwhile and campy cameo as one of the victim's Moms. Though not superb by any means, this debut effort offers glimpses of a director who could be a major talent, given the right material.

light 60s entertainment
7 August 2003
Ann Margret displays her beauty and musical talent in this cute little time waster of the early 60s. Three gorgeous girls find love in Spain in this relocated remake of Three coins in the fountain. Pamela Tiffin is very funny as a dumb brunette and Gene Tierney rounds out the fine supporting cast.

on second viewing, not bad...
1 August 2003
Years ago, I was convinced that Myra BReckingridge was one of the worst films ever made, just like everyone else. Years later, I viewed it again and I have to admit, I was quite entertained. AStoundingly, I now found this orginally X rated film to be rather tame! Raquel is undeniably glamourous, and Farrah has a surprisingly major part, reminding you of (no pun intended) a beautiful young Angel(check out her baby voice). It will make you nostalgic for an era of a newly discovered freedom where all types of experimentation were done from the heart. If you are lucky enough to find this extreme rarity, do check it out!!!

MEMORABLE COMING OF AGE SHORT
30 July 2003
A young man reflects on his adolescent sexuality in this bittersweet, realistic short film by Patrick McGuinn. The director, who also did the gorgeous cinematography, also narrates the film. Possessor of a distinguished and pleasing sounding voice, it is an unexpected thrill at the films climax to hear his sweet voice spurt some profane but very human comments(a la early Donna Summer). Lets hope to see some full length work from this very talented and versatile film maker.

The Children (1990)
worthwhile adult drama
24 August 2001
Kingsley and Novak give memorable performances in this adult drama about a beautiful middle aged woman who competes with his children for the love of a widower. Too bad this underseen drama didn't lead to more roles for Kim. She is startingly beautiful. Karen Black, though, is wasted, in an extremely small cameo.

It's My Turn (1980)
UNINVOLVING COMEDY/DRAMA ROMANCE
24 August 2001
Mediocre and unmemorable comey, in which a Beautiful college professor suddenly finds herself torn between two men. Clayburgh's staple role, the independent woman, wears thin in this lackluster romance. One of Douglas' earlier leading man roles before his breakthrough in Fatal Attraction.

NOT VERY GOOD ITALIAN DRAMA
24 August 2001
Not very good film with JIll Clayburgh as a recently widowed American opera singer in Italy who becomes sexually involved with her 14 year old heroin-addicted son. We are offered no character background as to why these two are so dysfunctional so we care little about them in this overlong drama. It's almost as if the mother feels sex will help to cure her son. This is the first film that led (along with Hanna K. and I'm dancing as fast as i can) to the downfall of Clayburgh's,(then America's top actress)career, although she deserves kudos for tackling such an unpleasant role.

ugly mean thriller
24 August 2001
A ridiculous premise in which a NYC fashion photographer acquires the power to see her freiends murders as they happen. At least we get to see Manhattan during a cool era. Otherwise, its a mean, ugly and lousy film, which though garnering a lot of publicity for, helped to destroy Dunaway's then hot career.

Surprisingly good mystery pic
24 August 2001
Absorbing little European made mystery. Is a strange young man Rita's long lost son or not? Rita is very good as the disturbed Mama, and WAlker and Farmer are fine, too. this increasingly hard to find film is worth your time.

LOTS OF TWISTS AND SURPRISES, BUT NOTHING GREAT
24 August 2001
If you can hang in til the climax, you'll be rewarded with some surprise twists, and a predictable ending. Otherwise it's a plodding, average mystery film with nice on location filming of the french Rivera. Beautiful Lola is terrific as a mysterious lady, and Jane is a sexy doll(not one of her better performances, though), but Delon is a surprisingly wooden leading man.

Rita and Kim are magnificent
24 August 2001
Thank god this film is on DVD!It is now possible to skim right through Frank's obnoxious role and concentrate strictly on the two female stars.Talk about a fantasy-the two most beautiful women in the world are obsessed with this obnoxious little man! Kim and Rita are so stunning it is almost surreal. On second glance, Hayworth is still gorgeous here, even though in declining health(alcoholism, etc.). Her skins looks absolutely translucent. The stunning beauty of Rita and Kim and the wonderful Rodgers and Hart songs are the highlights of this entertaining, beautifully photographed musical drama. Barbara Nichols is memorably funny in a tiny role. (TRIVIA: Beautiful dancer/actress Doreen Woodbury committed suicide while in rehearsals for this film).KIm's voice, by Trudi Erwin, on My funny Valentine, sounds exactly how she would sound if she sang! A vocal dead ringer!

A GOOD PORNO VERSION OF BLAKE EDWARDS' 10
17 August 2001
This worthwhile porno take on Blake Edwards' 10 is in many ways more likeable than the original film. John Leslie and Diahna hOlt are great in the leads, and Annette Haven, who appeared as an extra in the original film, has never looked more beautiful than in the final sex scene between she and Leslie.

WORTHWHILE HITCHCOCKIAN THRILLER
17 August 2001
This take on Hitchcokian thrillers by young Jonathan Demme is more interesting than many of the masters' works. The underrated janet Margolin is memorable as the mystery girl who gets involved with newly widowed Roy Scheider. Watch this forgotten little gem, which plays often on late night TV. It will stay with you.

A dated curiousity for Jaynie fans
17 August 2001
Not very good mostly silent documentary, with a faked voice pretending to be the late B movie queen,as she takes you around the world to some pretty "wild" events. Serves as a decent document of some stuff you probably never saw from that time period, but definitely not a worthwhile homage to this lovely lady.
