Big Sky (2020)
Make Love to the Mud?
I wanted to like this, but it's just not possible. The writing is juvenile at best. I couldn't even finish the first episode.
This Is Us: Honestly (2020)
That Was Meh...
I never thought I'd doze off during this program, then season 5 comes meandering on in and puts me right to sleep.
Supernatural: Inherit the Earth (2020)
That Was Some Hella Socially Distanced Penultimate Awesome
At first....I was all...Oh My Chuck this whole thing is 6 feet apart. And if I am being honest...I am one of the 3 fans who did not love the last ep so my hopes were not all that high. PS Get over it fandom.
All said and done....this ep was pretty awesome. It was weird not seeing hugs and closeness but it was written in a way that made sense and the wrap up took care of all that boy melodrama I needed to see.
Chuck got what he deserved. It was obvious some covid required work arounds happened with Lucifer and Michael...frankly all of it.
Still...All in all....well done.
This Is Us: Changes (2020)
This Program is Losing its Luster
I'm giving this show a couple more episodes. If this Season 5 mediocrity with wealthy, entitled characters whining about literally everything continues, I'm out. This once fresh, exciting, emotional program, is becomimg almost a burden to watch.
Supernatural: Despair (2020)
Not a 10...but good
This ep had its high points, its sad points, and its "nobody asked for this" points...and as much as I adore Supernatural, compared to some of their truly exceptional eps over the years, this was not a 10.
This entire season has been way overrated...likely due to it being the final season and we fans want it to be the best season ever and are rating it as such.
I figure folks will either over love it, or think it was "ok". I'm in the "ok" column on this one.
Kingdom of the Spiders (1977)
I Don't Think DDT's Gonna Kill 'em
This movie scared the snot outta me as a kid....and still does. It's so terrible that it loops back around to awesome.
This Is Us: Forty: Part Two (2020)
Randall said it best....
It's exhausting. Everyone is exhausted. Take that for what you will.
Thought Provoking...if you choose to think
There were not necessarily any untruths from either side. An interesting documentary that should encourage all to educate themselves on historical information from reliable sources. What exists now...in 2020...has been brewing for decades. And that's just facts. My take away... Politics are corrupt, irresponsible reporting exists, celebrity types maximize on the drama, and the people suffer. Regardless of who is running the country, the people suffer from partisanship. Definitely recommend.
Excellent Start to a Promising New Program
Well written, well acted, intriguing storyline. First episode left me wanting more. Thumbs up.
The writing is elementary. There is barely any character introduction, much less character development. The filming style...(shaky camera, bizarre color mix) makes it feel as if you're watching an annoying commercial made by a very bad film student. This program has absolutely no redeeming qualities.
The Walking Dead: A Certain Doom (2020)
It had its moments...
It was alright I suppose...best parts were too short, boring parts were too long. And seriously....storm troopers.
South Park: The Pandemic Special (2020)
EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED
God bless South Park. The ultimate 2020 spoof we knew we needed but nobody could get away with making.
The Walking Dead: Still (2014)
Beth is Intolerable
The only reason I gave this episode a 5 is because of Daryl. If another character had been paired with Beth, I'd likely give it a 1. An hour of Beth's teenaged, never-ending, dramatic whining makes this episode one of the worst in the series.
Tiny Creatures (2020)
This was like watching some bizarre, live action version of Secret Life of Pets. Not sure who the target audience is, but adults clearly aren't it.
Not What You Think It Is
All I have to say is....WOW. It's about time someone called out literally everyone....And Jon Stewart was the right man to do it. Awesome film.
The Hunt (2020)
Well Now...that was unexpected
I wasn't sure what I was walking into with this, but I was pleasantly surprised. A fair look at ALL the crazy out there. Worth the watch.
Council of Dads (2020)
Based on Pilot Only....MEH
As with any pilot, viewers endure more character introduction than plot. Unfortunately, the character introduction portion of this pilot was so heavy, bland and scattered, it completely dampened what might end up being a decent story. I was not immediately hooked. I'll give this another watch....maybe two. But right now, there is absolutely nothing going on that makes me want to spend much time attempting to find a reason to care about these characters.
100 Humans (2020)
Click bait Premise...Poor execution
I don't know what I was expecting, but it was definitely better than what I saw. I'm not sure who the target audience is, but I'm certainly not part of it.
The hosts are annoying and the gimmicks are...it's just all around bad.
Locke & Key (2020)
Really Fun to Watch
This program is a really fun and easy watch. Very entertaining and enjoyable. The only thing I really don't like about it, is the casting of the mother. That character doesn't have much to her as it is, and the performance of this already bland character is akin to watching paint dry.
Otherwise, decent binge.
Not for Me
I'm sure this program has promise, but it's very slow paced. Between that and the musical score, I was literally lulled to sleep...dozed off whilst viewing it.
Simply Not Good
I was hoping this would be good, but...
Writing...bad. Jokes...elementary. Discount Kaley Cuoco....sigh Canned laughter...intolerable Acting...it's like they're all reading off a teleprompter.
Definitely not for me.
The Ranch (2016)
Watched it all before I reviewed
This program...in all honesty, I watched it because Sam Elliott was in it. I loved it immediately. There's some campyness and bad canned laughter...but I identified with the story line.
I'll admit, I was right annoyed when they killed rooster. But I stayed with it.
It's the only Netflix series that gave a proper beginning, middle and end.
October Faction (2020)
Wanted to like this, but it's not possible
Full disclosure...I only made it through 1 1/2 episodes. This is just bad...casting makes no sense at all, the dialogue is ignorant, the "monsters" are ridiculous, and there's no apparent chemistry among the cast. Netflix is trying my patience with is constant flow of unwatchable programming.
Couldn't get through the 1st episode
Dry and bland. It gave me the feeling that i was trying to sit through the most boring conference imaginable, instead of what could have been an interesting documentary.
9-1-1: Lone Star (2020)
It's not a 1....but not a 10 either.
I'm a big fan of the original 911. While the LoneStar premiere did not pack the punch that the original 911 did....it's not horrible....it's fine. Yes...it checks all of the diversity and "wokeness" buttons...but, they literally said it would within the first 5 minutes and that shouldn't matter anyways. Diversity and "wokeness" is not the issue...it's a bit scattered in its story telling....and it's hard to see what we're going to get from the overarching story arc. I'll give a a few more watches to see where it goes.
