The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
8 June 2021
David Fincher... is one of the genius directors of cinema who has made a name for himself in narrating an event. I've watched every single one of his movies except Mank, and I've often thought that his movies weren't as good as exaggerated. I guessed the incident in Fight Club in the middle of the movie. Although Se7en had a good ending, it was pretty boring at first. The Game movie (in my opinion, Fincher's best movie) is one of his least heard movies although it is very good. The movie Panic Room could not go beyond being a boring movie except for the shooting techniques. Zodiac and Gone Girl were like regular detectives. When I started to respect Fincher because of the good movie The Game, I started the movie Benjamin Button, which I had in mind for a long time. Although I wanted to say I watched it without expectations, I was very excited because the movie looked good. Benjamin Button is a person who lives life backwards. The old is born and the young will die. It can also be said from old age to youth. I think it will be a superficial review because of that, the movie I will tell without giving spoilers. If I had to compare this movie to a movie, it would definitely be Forrest Gump. Because both movies are biopics and Forrest Gump and Benjamin Button are similar personalities. Their main features make them stand out, they live their lives to the fullest, they turn to different things... The film tells the life of Benjamin Button very well. Every detail of life is reduced. Button never sits idle in life. Constantly trying new things. He doesn't see his illness as a weakness, he turns it into an advantage. Because of these features I have mentioned, many events take place in the movie and the movie drags you into it. This keeps the movie flowing smoothly. Fluency is an important factor in the movie. Although the movie has a great script, it has a meaning when it gets boring. Se7en or Sixth Sense movies are examples of movies with low fluency. 75% of the movie is boring and there are a few events in the last parts that affect the audience. But Benjamin Button is one of the films that we can describe as fluent in this regard. While watching the movie, I did not look at the clock even once, I finished the movie in one sitting and got up. Because I kept wondering what would happen next. It is one of the films that does its job well in fluency.

The make-up team of the movie did a great job. Old Benjamin is so beautiful. On the other hand, it is difficult to find a person from youth to old age, but the choices were still good. The casting and the actors are also good. Nobody could play Benjamin Button better than Brad Pitt. Cate Blackett has also been a very successful narrator for the story. Very good performances. No performance stands out. There is an understated acting that fits into the movie. The music adorns the background of the movie very well, but they cannot put their weight forward. I also opened the album after the movie, but there is some light music. Unfortunately, I did not see a heavy soundtrack. As for the final words, the movie was good overall. I think it's a movie that should be watched in a fluent way that doesn't bore you. Nice biography. My score is 83/100.

An Underrated Art
10 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I begin to examine it, thinking it will be a long review. As someone who likes Western movies, I realized that I had to watch this movie the first time I saw it. I usually make a big watchlist before watching movies and take turns going. But as soon as I saw this movie, I took it first. Actually, I have many reasons to put the movie in the first place. All 3 actors in the lead role are very successful academy award-winning actors, Brad Pitt is a name who has already proven himself with his good looks and acting, Casey Affleck won the love of a great audience with his performance in my movie Manchester By The Sea and received the Best Actor Oscar that year. Sam Rockwell won an academy award in 2018.

It was the first time I heard about the director of the movie. His score here was 7.5. An average rating for a movie. I tried not to have too much expectation because I didn't want to be upset if I didn't like the movie.

Having watched Blade Runner 2049 and 1917 movies in amazement, I had become a huge fan of Roger Deakins. The man was the best in the cinematography business. This was a factor that I liked, and I started watching the movie directly.

Before I talk about the movie, I find the title of the movie wrong. There are a lot of people who don't know that Jesse James was killed by Robert Ford, which I personally would like them to learn while watching the movie. It would have been better if the title of the movie was just Assasination Of Jesse James.

And I watched the movie and after I finished my reaction was, "This movie deserves better places." happened. The movie was really good. While watching, I was not bored for even 1 minute. I do not want to include many spoilers in this review, but I will still use the phrase it contains spoilers. The film, which includes scenes such as the train robbery scene, the environment of the period, and the snowy winter scenes, is a candidate to be the best in the field of cinematography. The performances in the movie are very successful. The actors may have been awarded 10 years after this movie, but isn't talent born innate? I found the performance of each player very successful. By the way, the movie doesn't tell about Jesse James' youth and what he did. It tells about the aftermath of Jesse and his brother's gang, and I think it was a good time again. Despite the slow processing of the movie, it does not bore the audience even for a moment. The fact that Robert Ford, when he was a big fan of Jesse, gradually began to fear him and when the time came, he sadly fulfilled his duty by having to kill him constitutes the plot of the film in short, but the personalities of the characters are well handled. The script of the movie is beautiful. No unnecessary scenes are included. It progresses smoothly. The cast is solid. The scene shots are very nice. I didn't expect the soundtrack to be good because I had never seen it before, but the soundtrack is surprisingly good. Song for Bob is beautiful enough to make it into my 10 favorite soundtracks. As someone who is about to finish the Top 250 list, I can say that this movie should have been on the list. Most movies out there got much higher ratings than they deserve just for the message it gives. But a part of me that I am a part of is bored now, we know that racism is bad about these classic issues, but do not put out a movie about racism every year and give it an award and put it in our eyes. The same is true for World War II movies. Maybe my review will not be published because of what I have written, but the fact that there are many people who think this way makes me know that I am not alone. Such unique topics, beautiful scenarios deserve better places. No more than 100 films in the Top 250 list deserve to be on that list. Films such as The Illusionist, Assasination Of Jesse James and Blade Runner also get an average score and put their name in the movie archive. Normally, I am not a person who likes movies very easily, but everything about this movie is good, if not perfect. There is no perfect movie anyway. It's a movie that may not appeal to every cut, but it's a reward for Western movie fans. It can easily enter the list of my 25 favorite movies. My rating for the film is 83/100.

Kill Bill Vol 2 Review
4 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Kill Bill Vol 2 Review I was fascinated by Quentin Tarantino's First Kill Bill movie with Uma Thurman. As Tarantino did in every film, he put something of himself into the film and put forward another masterpiece. It gave the audience a solid action combined with a beautiful script. Excessive blood and slang were the main elements I liked in the film. I was very satisfied with the duel scene in the moonlight at the end of the film. Because of that, it could be among my 50 favorite movies, which is a pretty good place, judging by the number of movies I've watched. 2 in the first film. I had a lot of question marks left in my head for the movie. What was bride's name? Why wasn't it said? I wonder if Bride would get her revenge on Bill in the second movie..... I watched the first movie about 3 or 4 months from now, and I thought I was even late 2. I started filming. Judging by the overall audience, the second film score was 0.1 degrees lower than the first film score. But my expectation was that it would be better than the first movie. I was overloaded. But I realized that this excitement was unnecessary. If you watch a movie without expectations, you will be happy that it will come out well, but you will be upset if it does not meet your expectations. In short, Kill Bill Vol 2, which I started watching with high expectations, fell short of my expectations. Don't misunderstand. I'm not saying it was a bad movie. It just fell short of my expectations. I'd like it if I watched it without expectations.

Now that we've just finished the film, let's start examining it in the heat. At the opening of the film, there was a part that summed up the first film. It's nice to put it in, but it's unnecessary. I'm neutral in this scene, I can't call it good or bad.

The next part shows the part before bride's ( Uma Thurman ) wedding. Bill comes alone before the wedding. He seems friendly, even attends the wedding ceremony, but then reveals his treacherous plan. To interpret it, it was nice that the scene was in black and white. Bill was older than I expected, but the actor who played him put in a good performance. And considering Bill's been with Bride before, he's too old.

The wedding is happening.

Bride wakes up from her coma.

She's making a kill list.

She cleans half of it.

And then Bill's brother goes to Budd's. Budd goes to find out where Bill is or whether he will take revenge on him is not given any information about this, but the Budd character is well handled in the film. Bride is shot in the chest and buried alive while raiding Budd's caravan. Personally, it seemed absurd that the woman who dotted the Japanese Samurai Army in the first film was again made stupid in the second film. Come on, he was caught in the first movie, but he knew he was going to take action. As Budd buries him alive, he hands him a lantern and takes his sword to sell it to Ella, Bill's Assassin.

In the next chapter, we go to the Bride's past. He breaks the coffin with his bare hands with his time next to his master, where he goes to learn the heart-blasting movement with 5 fingers, and what he learned there. A flashback scene that was put in place.

At that time, Ella picks up the sword and poisons Budd, but he encounters the bride who comes out of the grave. Along with Ella bride's Hanzo sword, Bride and Budd's Hanzo sword begin to clash. Although the fist-to-fist battle took place in a very narrow area in the first place, I was a fan of the use of swords, and as soon as the swords came out, I said to myself, " now I will see a beautiful duel. "I said, but before I even finished my sentence, Bride took out one eye on Ella. It just destroyed my expectations of the stage. I expected a more epic encounter. I mean, if he was going to kill him by pulling out his eye, I wish it was after a little sword dancing.

Then she goes to a Spanish man to find out where Bill is. He's finding out where Bill is. He's on his way to Bill's.

When she comes to Bill's side, she encounters his own daughter, whom she does not know exists. At first, she seems to be close to Bill because the child is there, but when the child sleeps, the environment becomes tense. I found the speeches and performances that fit the personality of the actor who played Bill successful. I was expecting a big fight with Bill, but he just kills bill by making a heart-popping gesture with five fingers. It's not like the fight scenes in the first movie, it's simpler than the ones in this movie and it comes straight to the point. I thought Bill was right when Bill explained himself. Because it wasn't fair to bill that he ran away when Bride got pregnant with him while he was with her. Her revenge is a little cruel, but he has a reason. At first, when he suddenly disappears, he thinks bride is dead, grieves for 3 months, then leaves her with a child, and marries a record player in El Paso. I feel sorry for Bill if I have to empathize. Even the bride, who enjoyed taking revenge on the others she killed, cried after she killed Bill.

After Bill dies, he takes his child and goes to a place where they will live together. The movie ends.

If you look at the film in general, there is a disconnect in the story, but it does not stand out. Except Bill's old, his character choices are good. Acting is successful. Uma Thurman performed at the Oscars. The actor who played Bill's performance was very pleasant. Tarantino, like every movie, has added something to this movie. The soundtracks of the film are beautiful, even if they are one click lower than the first film, but they are not used much.

As for the last words, it's a good series. Anyway, I think every Tarantino movie should be watched. It can even be viewed only for his first film.

Elephant Man
30 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
David Lynch, one of the few directors in the world, appears in 1980 with the movie Elephant Man. He chooses a successful actor like Anthony Hopkins, who will be awarded an Oscar for the lead role. The film focuses on the doctor's relationship with a man who resembles an elephant, played by Anthony Hopkins. The acting is very successful in the movie. It's a movie that makes us empathize with Elephant Man. But the movie is a bit weak in terms of plot. The doctor finds Elephant Man. He's taking him to the hospital. Elephant Man is experiencing an unfortunate abduction, but he returns in a short time, is admitted to the hospital and begins to live happily ever after. They fill in between scenes that will have a smile on the faces between the doctor and Elephant Man. You never get bored while watching, but you don't feel like watching a big plot. The acting is successful. I could not hear very memorable music in it. The plot is weak. Production is appreciated. The elephant man's makeup opens a new era in the era. Despite being black and white, the film does not stand out at all. In short, everyone should watch. But do not have high expectations. My rating for the movie is 100/76.

THE TERMINATOR
13 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The Terminator, the first film of the terminator series, which is a 36-year-old series, still manages to be a traceable quality film even though it was produced in 1984. At that time, he was one of the best science fiction movies with Star Wars and Alien. In 2029, terminators take over the world. Terminators are intelligent robots made of almost immortal strong metal, bullet proof and human skin. John Connor, on the other hand, is able to kill these terminators thanks to the technology he finds and he fights against the terminators with the people who are left behind. He returns to the past with a time machine on the terminator and tries to kill Sarah Connor, his mother, so that John Connor was never born. The scenario is briefly like this. First of all, although the movie is a 36-year-old movie, it does not reveal it at all. The terminator character is both realistic and puts the name's weight. Arnold Schwarzenegger is cut out for the terminator role. Overall, the player selections are successful. The script is also beautifully detailed and beautifully rendered. The voiceover fits well into the characters. Music is suitable for the theme of the movie. The only thing that gets stuck in my head comes from the future of Kyle and is John Connor's father in the future. How did John Connor know that Kyle was his father, or if he made a mistake and sent someone else out of Kyle into the past, he would never have been born. Maybe they will elaborate a bit more in the next movie of the series, I hope this subject. Watch it right away if you haven't. My score for the film is 100/77

Forrest Gump (1994)
8/10
ONE OF THE BEST DRAMA FILMS
9 April 2020
Forrest Gump, one of the best films in the world, starring Tom Hanks, offers the viewer a good movie experience throughout his life. Tom Hanks gives life to Forrest Gump, the movie's owner. It is still one of the best drama movies, even after many years since the film was released. Forrest Gump has a 75 IQ rating, a bit behind normal people, but it's actually a character that does what most people can't. While watching Forrest's story, I am sure that most viewers have a smile on their face. Although the movie is a drama movie, it can make people laugh. He also makes an effort to get the girl he loves. The movie contains both action, comedy and drama. A movie that everyone should watch. While some parts are absurd, everyone should watch. To me the best part was the end. It has a very dramatic end. My score for the movie is 100/82

Pulp Fiction (1994)
8/10
A Cult Movie
6 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
One of the masterpieces made by Quentin Tarantino, Pulp Fiction is a movie that makes a difference with its style. First of all, the movie has a mixed chronological order and I have never complained about it while watching the movie. Tarantino's character choices are very successful. Vincent and Jules character is very harmonious. Slang is used a lot in the movie, but it does not bother at all. On the contrary it makes you laugh. If the movie has a good end or a bad end, you can't understand at first. In fact, the movie ends in a place called "The movie is excited." And at first I thought that the movie had no end, but the script of the movie gets better when you think about it in chronological order. Tarantino tried to confuse a simple scenario in Pulp Fiction and was successful. There are many theories about the movie, and they all come to beautiful conclusions. Music is almost as great as the movie.

Coming to the minuses of the movie, it doesn't have a big mistake, but it's not in a movie that everyone will love. You just need to think about the movie a bit. The script is beautiful to implement but simple. I think something more impressive could be added to the script. In addition, the character Pumpkin is somewhat calmer than his wife (Actually, we only see about 15 minutes in the movie.). He would have been better if he was a bit freak-like too.

The movie is already rated, if you haven't watched it definitely watch.

And my score is 85/100.

1917 (2019)

One Of The Rare Beautiful Productions
4 March 2020
1917 was a long-awaited movie. When I watched the released trailer for the first time, I was sure that this movie would enter the Top 250. Sam Mendes is a director I already love. The movie enters the subject directly. "1917" is the story of two friends reaching the front in time to save 1600 Soldiers. It was great to shoot the whole movie in one shot. The reality of the background action scenes and the shooting is very nice. I was never bored for the 2 hours I watched the movie. it is necessary to give the right to the movie about it. Because the movie is not boring. It was a movie that I watched with pleasure. I suggest you watch. My movie score is 100/82.
