Under the Skin (2013)
43 Minutes In and I Can't Take It Any More
I genuinely tried to immerse myself in "Under the Skin," but alas, it felt like an arduous task rather than a cinematic experience. The only moment of genuine excitement was witnessing Scarlett Johansson's name illuminate the screen during the opening credits. Beyond that, it was a descent into monotony.
Throughout the film, I couldn't help but think that perhaps indulging in a hallucinogenic might have made the viewing more palatable, offering some semblance of understanding to the chaotic visuals. The prolonged, tedious scenes seemed to lack any real depth or acting prowess. The excessive use of close-ups felt more intrusive than artistic. The soundtrack, rather than elevating the narrative, only added to the drudgery. A few psychedelic sequences were interspersed here and there, but they seemed more jarring than engaging. Additionally, the incoherent street scenes felt like mere fillers, failing to contribute anything meaningful to the storyline.
In conclusion, "Under the Skin" was a bewildering journey that I wouldn't wish upon any movie enthusiast. It's a hard pass from me, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone seeking a coherent or engaging cinematic experience.
The Freak Brothers (2020)
Awful, awful, awful!
This show is just awful. Those of us who enjoyed reading the original fabulous Fury freak Brothers comics got many a good laugh out of them. The drug humor was suitable for the time and many good storylines built around that humor.
I watched episode 4 and I really did not like it. The character voices were hard on the ear and fat Freddy's cat (female?) was absolutely horrible! The personalities of each of the fabulous Fury freak Brothers was just way off. You just can't identify with any of them if you've read the comic books.
You would think by episode 4 there would be some refinement of characters and storyline, but I just didn't see anything in this episode that will save this from impending cancellation. In my opinion this was terrible and I don't recommend anybody who is familiar with the fabulous Fury freak Brothers watch this, save yourself some time.

Unwatchable on "commercial" broadcast TV
I mentally tune out commercials so a 42 minute show with several interruptions (18 minutes) just makes it hard to follow. Everytime my interest perked up... fade out to several commercials! This makes for a difficult time to identify with character development and background.
I only watched the premier episode. I found some of the scenarios interesting but with all of the continuity interruptions, I just can't invest the burdensome commercial time to watch how a scene plays out let alone the series.
I was quite annoyed with the portrayal of the police, over the top acting and not believable. Also holding these people up in a hotel with gestapo like intimidation tactics is annoying and does not fit with contemporary values that this show is trying to portray.
I give this episode 3 stars as it did keep me engaged to the end, however it is very unlikely I will watch any further episodes.
Lies Crimes & Video (2019)
Interesting show but AWFUL AUDIO
The subject matter is well done but the audio is all over the place. Being hearing impaired and using hearing aids with auto adjust makes this show difficult to follow. I am constantly adjusting the TV volume up to hear the narrator and down for other parts of the show, and then getting my ears blasted out when a commercial comes on.
