Frasier (2023)
Rating higher than the shows rating worth for Kelsey Grammer
I desperately wanted to like the reboot but if it continues in this direction, the disappointment will remain. Many reviewers have already highlighted many glaring pitfalls. I would like to add a few . The first problem is , is that there is no David Hyde Pierce ( I love you ! ) or RIP John Mahoney...still I had high hopes for front Kelsey Grammer who I also really enjoy. Furthermore, the original Frasier is my all time favorite TV series. It had depth, intelligence, enduring characters, truly ingenious and hilarious writing. The current reboot is "dumbed down" , it lacks the witty repertoire, and high brow humor the first excelled with. Are they dumbing it down for the audience of today? If your a lover of Frasier, and I assume that is who would be watching.. please bring back the charm , the intellect and lose the ridiculous hollow comparisons that will never match the original. The story line is very cleaver, the idea is a good one, but there needs to be changed. The overly cheesey acting and jokes are painful and beneath the franchise.
Tin & Tina (2023)
Errrie
Uncomfortable and an interesting watch. The pace is a good speed, the twins very creepy and the overall acting quite good. The low ratings are very hard to understand. It is a breath of fresh air for the genre, even if there is not really any deep plot or metaphor besides religious speculation and existence, however there are still interesting ideas and questions that are raised. Is it mind blowing , perhaps not, but I appreciate the art and the talent put into the film. I have not reviewed recently, but I was struck and confused by the low ratings, and wanted to speak up for the movie, especially when most new products on Netflix and other streaming is garbage.
Lust: A Seven Deadly Sins Story (2021)
Funny Haha?!?!
Some other user said this was a Tyler Perry knock off but I thought it was a flat out joke. I mean seriously... did any one else believe this 40 year old woman was a virgin her entire life until she was engaged? Then want to sleep with the short bald guy? But to be fair all the characters were horrible, unrelatable and nauseating; and this is from someone who enjoys a lifetime movie from time to time. I am still uncertain if there was a message or point to this story, except to cringe at all the cardboard cutouts resembling people or tropes of characterizations. No one will watch this movie and care about what happens to any of these characters, in fact you will find yourself fast forwarding just to get to the end.
Pleasure (2021)
One giant leap for mankind, 100 million steps taken back for women kind
I was honestly hoping for a deep understanding into the adult film industry culture for women, but I was met with emptiness and disgust. We see in the film that the creator is fine with subjecting women and their body parts as objects but not a single man is shown fully nude, and this is supposed to be about porn?!? The opening scene has the female act afraid and innocent for the sex scene.. is that ever asked of men to look afraid. And objectified? I am deeply disappointed, unless the creator wanted us to objectify women further and leave the film having feelings of emptiness , disgust and sadness then job well done. This is not original. The men are spot on, coaxing the woman into sexually explicit acts and the female with no care of real honor for her worth and gender. Disappointing.
The Sandman (2022)
Finally Netflix offers us a beautifully artistic show with depth but...
Like every artistic and interesting show with creative and artist storytelling it will likely be cancelled. The one thing I have come to depend on with Netflix is that shows with depth and characters that actually are not void of humanity or that we care about not dying , are most often cancelled. And of course the viewers that are unjustly upset because they feel they are owed something because it is based upon something else, like everything is will definitely try to drag it down by claiming it is not exactly how it was in the comic. But that is many peoples attitude these days, that they are owed something, therefore I guess they do not believe in creative licence which is just sad, because this is a powerfully scripted and visually stunning tv show that should be appreciated for the art that it is.
And to those who are calling this "WOKE" are very silly, just because a show has different ethnicities or gay people does not mean a series is woke ... Ughhh, some people just i guess really are bothered still by life style and color.
I have hope yet, and hope there will be more to come of Sandman!
Chi's Sweet Adventure (2016)
Purrrttfect
Please make more episodes. This show is one of the highlights that ends a sometimes hard or happy day with my daughter and I curled up in bed to go to sleep. Sweet, playful, captivating...and most importantly makes you feel all warm ,safe and fluffy inside. I love this show!💖 Also , they really captured the cat essence and the secret world of our feline friends.
The Girl from Plainville (2022)
Stays true to actual events
Of course, I was not around any of these people but from the documentaries and true crime stories I read/listened to, it follows what unfolded pretty close. I love true crime , and these tv series coming out based on actual events! I hope haters here won't ruin the future of true crime storytelling for the rest of us that like it, however morbid that may be. The acting is more than fine, a good tone has been set and the musical numbers are barely there at all and they are meant to show her fantasy life boiling over into reality, they are a metaphor of her sanity and thought process...ah thank you, a thank you.
Life & Beth (2022)
I 💕 Schumer
If you like Amy Schumer, and appreciate her style of comedy you will enjoy this. I love how she is going at this in a whole new more I guess serious tone but still being true to her self and pushing women's equality forward. Do ignore the negative reviews..it is a good story with plenty of laughs, I like darker comedy which is what this is. I'm giving it a Ten, higher than what I would usually rate because of the insanely unfair and bs reviews. You go Amy!
Chaos Walking (2021)
Why do you people that hate scifi ruin it for the rest of us?
I love dystopian films, movie, tv series , books... I don't understand how many can not see how creative and different this film is from everything else out there, I guess you people were hoping for another romantic "woke" piece of garbage, or Super hero movie, which I'm pretty sick of. Please if you don't like sci Fi or dystopian movies stay away from the genre and stop ruining it for us who love something different and creative. This movie is exciting, interesting, a journey and I think the acting was more than decent.
If you like sci Fi and a good story, like me you will enjoy this movie!
The American Meme (2018)
Boooooooo
We're supposed to not like and root against all the "people" on this documentary right? Or was it a long infomercial for superficial and empty internet bot like humanoid social media poo?
The Amber Ruffin Show (2020)
Ignites Acid Reflux
I'm usually not this mean but there is something about how she hams it up way over the top, or those stupid faces she makes or when I hear and see her my acid from my stomach shoots up into my mouth and makes me gag. Just what we need ...more woke crap ughhhhh. I've heard she is a good writer, she should stick to that...
Brave New World (2020)
Great creative storytelling
I was so discouraged when I saw the low reviews and the fact in lasted only 9 episodes. The most unusual, artistic and especially SCI Fi shows, which are the most entertaining always seem to get cut and are never even hardly heard of or do not get publicized well. This was a beautiful series and I will be honest...even though I don't care for the softporn stuff usually, because the show could have stood alone with out the extreme tittilation and catering to the male gaze, which I hate and find pathetic....but all this said, I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was truly entertaining and never dull, and it ended with the biggest cliffhanger, I would have loved to see what happened next!!!
Death Clique (2014)
Barb
I just wanted to write a glowing review for Barbra Allyn Woods, I think she did a great job for what it's worth. We all know what we're getting and what to expect with lifetime type movies...it's either your cup of tea or it isn't. Also if you like true crime, or movies based on the events, check it out of you have a sick week off, there's worse movies out there.
Bug (2006)
Clearly most of you are fools and couldn't see amazing acting if it infested you in a skeezy motel room
Wow, Ashley Judd, Micheal Shannon amazing. So believable and honest, very Tenesse Williams! I hate the shallow, trivial surface garbage they pump out these days. This is a very bare and raw movie. Very much like the Theatre, so if you like incredible acting you will like this.
The Good Fight (2017)
Pushing for greater race/ethnic divide
Im sure my opinion will probably be unpopular, oh well...I am a psychology, sociology, anthropology student. I am strongly for civil rights and equality. But I feel like we are taking a step back in many cases as far as justice and nondiscrimination. Like this would be an amazing tv show but it's becoming prejudice and bitter towards white people....one example in this case Dianne. They practically force her to step down as partner because the color of her skin. I don't know about any of you, but when I hear people are judged for positions of power or in any way judged because the color of their skin...I call that racist or at the very least discrimination. So is the new ideology for civil rights an eye for an eye...not in fact equal opportunity??? I quit watching the Good Fight after this permeantly. I say that with great frustration because at times the story is very well written, creative and contains a greatly talented cast.
Hostile (2017)
Painful lead heroine
The lead actress is truly painful to watch. I swear I think this was the first time she has ever said a swear word before, it seems so unnatural, just like her acting. Interesting metaphor of looking past the ugly(character and acting) to see the beauty or good, but it was unfortunately not possible.. pretty girl but not a actress. Made this movie cringy all the way through since she is literally in every scene...too bad.
