Vice (2018)
Art film, not a biography!
Great cast and well acted, but I wanted to watch a biography with interesting facts, not an art film with that fails to deliver. I'm a fan of art films, don't get me wrong, but this movie was one of the most disappointing films I've seen. It's run time was over two hours but less than a quarter of the film, about thirty minutes, take place during the eight years of Cheney's terms in office as the Vice President. I want to give it a better rating than two stars because I thought the cast was great, but the movie just isn't very good.
Henchmen (2018)
I almost stopped watching...
This movie is filled with talent, but I admit that the first few minutes made me think I was going to be watching a bad cartoon. I also admit that I almost stopped watching, but if you make it past the Henchmen title screen it starts to get interesting. I was confused at about five minutes in, but I started to hear familiar voices. Then it starts to become interesting, and everything after the "who cut the cheese?" joke turned into a really good movie. You'll be glad you watched it
Butter + Brown (2017)
Could be a good show.
Seth is a lot of fun to watch, I really like him. Leslie isn't bad, but she's really unsafe in the kitchen and it's 'NASTY' to quote her. I just saw her suggest to rinse chicken and called people who don't nasty as they stored raw chicken on the top shelf, uncovered in a refrigerator. That is unsafe and disgusting.
Hunted (2017)
Very disappointing at most.
I hoped this would be a better, more interesting version of Damon and Affleck's "The Runner" that aired on Verizon's Go90, but after watching all the episodes I have been totally let down. The majority of the fugitives seem to have no idea what they are doing and somehow get by with either luck or script, you decide. Some of the Hunters decisions are so ludicrous it's at times hard to watch the show (i.e. patrolling a gated community for multiple days in a black SUV). Though the majority of the stupidity lies on the runners, one team using an ATM at a bus stop, getting on a bus and riding it for hours and hoping to not get caught (which with the lack of effort by the hunters they would have done had they just asked to get off the bus early).
I could have forgiven all of this, none of it would have mattered to me if it weren't for the last episode. In the last episode, the Hunters cheat, using information that they only got because it was a television show. They were told that the fugitives were going to escape by plane, something in a real life situation they would NOT have known. With this knowledge, they start searching for planes to foil the fugitives before the fugitives even know where they are going. Here's the spoiler, law enforcement cheats or at least breaks the rules, this must be why even if it is scripted, they're able to call it a reality show.
Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments (2016)
It's better than the book, but so is watching paint dry.
This show again proves that you can't do much with Twilight fan fiction that was written by a plagiarist. I admit that this show reminds me of reading the book, which is a bad thing as it was so terribly written, I wrote better stories when I was ten years old. There is a passage early in the book where a rug is described in detail for more than half a page. The author realized descriptions were needed, and having no idea what to describe, she detailed the rug as if the rooms topography was of relevance to the narrative.
The plot isn't bad, nor is the acting, but the overall story doesn't really work, it's actually quite awful. Something a child with no cognitive ability would have made up, a lie within a lie. Worse, even the action scenes are drab or senseless.
If this show is going to have ANY chance, the writers need to ignore the books, and take the script on themselves. With so much actual great television programming, it's doubtful I'll watch more of this.
If you've never read the book, may I suggest reading arundeepakrj-87764's review of this show, it's written in quite the same writing style. No offense to arundeepakrj-87764, I actually liked their review, but it does seem English isn't their first language. This was what I originally thought about the book by Cassandra Clare. English is clearly not her first language.
Whitney Cummings: Money Shot (2010)
Whitney Cummings: unfunny shot
I was uncomfortable watching this. She honestly nails some points, but she then often will counter her comedy to not offend the men she is trying to insult. She plays on every stereotype about men and women in current culture, sex party bridal showers to morning wood. I wanted to enjoy it, but I stopped it about halfway through. These jokes were funny about 15 years ago when they were first told, but society has advanced too much for this to be accurate/funny.
I personally started to hate her voice, nails on a chalkboard. If you get a chance to watch it, do so, but it wasn't for me. You can always stop it too.
Giuliani Time (2005)
If you enjoy biased and one-sided...
It's a don't-see for any New Yorker. It helps us re-focus on what went on over the past two decades and clarifies just how the life blood of the city has been sucked out of it by the vampire, the homeless. Giuliani saved, SAVED and restored the city, removing as much trash as he could. One woman as the audacity to say she had a third grade education, and instead of giving her a free education, they gave her a job...HOW DARE THEY. Now Disneyfied, city Gotham has turned into a safe place for locals and tourists alike. Celebrations are thankfully staged police-managed barricaded photo-ops where we no longer fear for our own lives, and the people surrounding us are not all selling crack. New Yorkers can finally have a good time. This documentary fails to make us care about the immigrants who don't feel like US citizens...immigrants, you don't say? We see how the homeless have been placed in shelters in outer boroughs, thankfully given a place to stay, yet keeping their smell away, and they are complaining, no humans have ever been so ungrateful. We see how artists are removed from the streets, allowing normal citizens to walk the streets and not be badgered. If you are one of those who has been blinded by how much better the city is, you need to see this, you will hate the whiners as they get arrested and the homeless complain about being given jobs. If it doesn't make you thankful for what Giuliani has done, then you are lost.
Pardon the Interruption (2001)
Out of Date, time to retire the show.
Pardon The Interruption was one of the best sports shows on TV. Host's Tony Kornheiser, and Michael Wilbon have always been a little out of date to the younger sports crowd, but it used to work very well, ironically. As they have aged and with the departure of Reali, the show is a shell of it's once former greatness. It seems more and more they just want to disagree and not give any valid reasons for their disputes. The show had a fresh and unique take, giving segments timed amounts that they may slightly go over, but for the betterment of the topic. Now they give over-played topics six minutes and continue disagreeing for additional minutes at times. It's truly become a half-hour gab fest. In my honest opinion this show was once the flagship of sport shows. Tony Kornheiser is too out of touch and Michael Wilbon is bigoted and often racist, it's uncomfortable to watch. At least Around the Horn is still watchable, I thank PTI for what they've done for that show. Also, Highly Questionable, a show I did not care for when I first saw it, has become one of the funniest shows on television.
Peter Pan Live! (2014)
Post-op Peter Pan
I'm just going to say what we are all thinking.
Wendy looked about ten years too old, but worse, Peter looked post-op.
Never, have I cared that Pan was played by a woman until now. Never has Pan looked so much like a woman, every single view.
I don't think I'll ever want to watch any version of Peter Pan again, not even Hook. This has ruined everything.
I'm sorry if you disagree, dislike my post, that is fine.
Worst Pan and Wendy, ever.
I still don't have enough lines...it's terrible.
It's awful, it's the worst.
