Blue Code of Silence (2020)
I'm just saying...
Cosa Nostra have a similar code of respect, honor, integrity, loyalty and brotherhood amongst each other, and to the organization.
The 93rd Oscars (2021)
Train station was so appropriate.
Having the Oscars (formerly known as The Academy Awards) in a train station makes so much sense - the show was a glorious train wreck.
From 2003 when a "prenup" won the Oscar, was a continuous downhill journey and 93rd Oscar is definitely the last time for me to watch it life. Never missed one since Rocky.
2020 best comedy
Ok, was a Covid year, but still ..... So, they should have started with 2000 election, when Gore had over 500,000 votes over Bush, maybe a mention on how the democracts did nothing from 2009 to 2017, to fix the issues. As for today (april2021)locks like history is repeating itself.
The Mauritanian (2021)
Worth an Oscar nomination
Let hope that will get at least an Oscar nomination (2022).
Shoplifters of the World (2021)
Life before internet... before social media... WAS fun.
Raya and the Last Dragon (2021)
12 Minutes .....
Initially, I was ok, is a seven to eight (I wish that we have a half star option), but they ruin everything with over 12 LONG minutes closing credits, that is 9.65% of the movie, really ?! On this idea maybe, we should revive opening overture.
No Safe Spaces (2019)
Today USA is scarier that USSR
Today USA (2019-2021) is scarier that USSR was 50 years ago.....and I knew IT.
Ten Billion (2015)
Deja vu "Seven billion"
I clearlly remember in 1980's the same apocalyptical predictions were made(one example is Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber and his bestseller "The Global Challenge"), that by 2010 we will reach 7(seven) billion and that will be "the end", at that point(2010) we will gonna run out off oil, run out off food and so on.... all this reminds me of snake oil sellers.
Meet the Censors (2020)
There is no such thing as positive censorship
To be cristal clear: there is NO such thing as positive censorship, once we start to control the free spech thru censorship, well, it's a slippery slope that will lead to destruction of democracy and ultimately will legitimize authoritarian, populism, or any other "ism" posible.
The only way to combat the far sides of political compass (left, right and/or zealotry) is thru education, and we have neglected this aspect in the past 30-40 years.
Fake Famous (2021)
Sad, sad, sad, sad...............and sad.
Ultimatlly, something is really, really wrong with our education system. And that is the start only.......the rest you know it.
Just a thought
Let's just stick with the day job for now, and wait for the crown.
Under the Wire (2018)
So... my view on.......
The only true "Arab Spring" revolution was Tunis, Jasmine Revolution; all the other ones were nothing more that regime changes, some are still going on (i.e.Syria, Yemen), pushed by ......you know who.
Lets start with: Tunis president Ben Ali fleed to KSA, not empty handed. Gadafi was killed, Mubarak Egypt and Yemen followed, and for me was crystal clear that Syria will be next. Why? because all those WERE secular regimes, not democracy, but stable.
Only in Tunis protesters were chanting "Freedom and Democracy" and partially in Egypt, at the begginig, a sharp contrast with Libya and Syria where protesters only chanting was "Allahu Akbar", "God is greater" (ironically, Allahu Akbar (anthem), was the national anthem of Libya from 1969 to 2011).
What follows, we all know it; isis (sunni extremists) imposed their terror for a few years, with lasting consequences. Millions of refugees, millions of lifes destroyed and for what?.....
The Dissident (2020)
...and NO consequences
There were (are) no consequences for that killing, and media along with politicians are responsable, and exposed their duplicity.
Imagine this screnario: if the other islamic state in the region kidnaps a renowned journalist, like let say C.A.; what would have been the reactions and consequences....... shame.
Justice Dot Net (2018)
What is interesting.....is that the accusations have an accurate reflection in real word; also the kidnapped personalities accused of eco crimes, can be easily identify in today's society (probablly multiple times). What is scarry, is that this scenario is plausible, therefore achievable, again scarry.
Get Luke Lowe (2020)
Question: Why this was even nominated? How can killing someone, for its political stands (right or wrong) can been see other than extremist?
Political spectrum has two extremes, non is better than the other one; having a preference or promoting one over the other one, doesn't make it right/just. Ultimately, we still have a justice system, don't we?
Das Glück meiner Schwester (1995)
Love it ... is like a time travel
This reminds me of "simple and happy times"; observe a life just before internet when smoking and ashtray where everywhere and a coffee was COFFEE; a society with no "smart"phones, no social media, not even the anoing GPS in the car...........sounds like, "middle of nowhere", not like Berlin. Simply put, this movie, is a piece of history, even if it is unintentional.
The Gulf of Silence (2020)
Genre: NOT Documentary.... is a Sci-fi
An intelligent, a novelty and curious way of expressing facts, fiction, and your own thoughts on this subject. Brilliant and refreshing; and again NOT a documentary, but a sci-fi fiction!
The Undoing (2020)
I wish they have half star...... four and a bit
I don't get the 9's and 10's neither the one's and two's; for me locks and felt like some cheap "Real wifes of... " show with celebrities.
Missing the old days
I am missing the old days when you could walk out, return your ticket and ask for and getting your money back.
my subscriptions.....no more
And this is how I cancel my subscription to H........(you know how) and a few more......covid cant go for ever!!!
Brain cells killer
Some said "Great sports film" or "This is our generation's 'Rocky' ", well your time will be better spend watching all the Rocky movies. Cagefighter is just boring, useless, brain cells killer.
The Phenomenon (2020)
One of the best documentary on the subject of UFOs, for those who are interested into it, there is not to much new information, but the stories are put together very skillfully, suggesting that the next step is (partial/full) disclosure in regards to the UFOs.
Moments in Spacetime (2020)
Yelling and yelling...........
So much yelling and shouting, that's no wonder he was diagnosed with dementia; interesting story, lazily execution and yelling and shouting..................I do recommend ah ... earplugs.
A close look
When you train in those so call academies for 12 week and you call them police officers (in common sense societies they are train for a minim of 18 months to 3 years), when you need SWAT for a domestic dispute, when ....... your cities in 2020 looks like Fallujah and police looks like occupation force, then you have a problem. and I didn't even mention that instead of providing first aid the police officer was preoccupied to handcuff, Really? The problem is training, unions, insurances, local politicians and that is just the beginning, the so call defund the police is not the solution.
Dveselu putenis (2019)
Love it, but.......
Love it, everything is close to perfection, but something is missing, and I hate that I can't pinpoint the reason, it follow the book, it is historically accurate (costume, cinematography, props and so on).
