Huge Stephen King fan since I was 10 and would steal my big brother's copies of Salem's Lot and Carrie and hide in a tree, the closet, the roof so I could read them without my Mom catching me (too much sex and foul language in his books for a 10 year old is what she always said.) :O
Have suffered from Night Terrors since the age of 3, still remember my 1st night terrors were of Wiley coyote chasing me with his bib on and knife and fork in his hands. Guess I was identifying as the Roadrunner! :o But that didn't stop me from loving all things horror, though it did make it hard for my sisters who shared a room with me when we were young kids. Especially since I also suffered from sleep walking. LOL
I love architecture, especially Victorian era and anything with old creepy castles is just full on Eye Candy to me.
Not a fan of cheesy horror and bad special FX. Was an Urban Explorer before the term was ever coined and it became a popular past time for you-tubers.
Love period pieces, well acted dramas with real, imperfect, and often broken people who are wonderfully strange characters.
Huge fan of animated cartoons and claymation. (NOT anime) Just find anime creepy, they all look the same and their eyes are spooky. Weirder still is that now people are getting tons of plastic surgery to look like those characters. EWWW ... Just gives me the willies! :O
Love comedy sitcoms and some sci-fi and late night shows like Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, John Oliver, Samantha Bee, and Stephen Colbert (loved Johnny Carson and David Letterman back in the day) and still love Triumph the Insult Comic dog (though not a big fan of Conan)
Huge advocate of all animals and rescue both domestic animals and wild life since I was a kid. Had a pet crow, pet owl, pet road runners, wild cotton tails, raccoons and a ton of cats, dogs, lizards, wild birds and rodents of all kinds. :D So yeah, love nature shows and documentaries like Nova and Nature on PBS.

Boys from County Hell (2020)
Interesting take on vampires, but still missed the mark. :(
This is a one and done popcorn movie if you like campy horror. Only a few funny lines. But the way the vampire functions was an interesting and novel approach. But me, not being a big campy low budget fan, giving it a 4 is pretty good, as I'm stingy with ratings. :)
Jakob's Wife (2021)
If you like low budget, silly campy horror then this is for you.
Started out half decent for low budget, but then proceeded from bad to worse with the flip-floppy preacher husband. I'm not a fan of super campy movies unless they are in the same league as What we do in the Shadows, or Tucker and Dale vs Evil. This is Way, WAY below that mark. Way, WAY, WAY below. :(
But I did luv the little girl who was asking them questions. ;D.
Ryan Murphy made Sarah Paulson's career, will she let him Destroy it too???
What a load of Beautiful Garbage this show was. I love Paulson in the 1st few seasons of American Horror story, but Murphy just turned that series to dog doo after season 4. I know Paulson probably feels a loyalty to Murphy, but I hope she pulls away from him before he destroys her. A lot of pretty and over the top eye candy, but just stupid, insipid, unbelievable writing in this show that I cannot suspend disbelief anymore. He obviously loves Paulson for his projects, but as the saying goes, "We always hurt the ones we love!" Maybe Murphy needs to take a long vacation so his ideas will revert back to what made me love his shows years ago. Cause the magic is gone and the spell of enchantment has been broken, and replaced by desperate silly garbage. :(
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Victoria Pedretti BUGS me to no End! :(
The Haunting of Hill House was much better than this Bly Manor series, and for me the suck factor is Victoria Pedretti. She walks so strangely, like someone shoved a pole up her arse. I found her physical mannerisms so distracting that I could no longer continue to watch this series, despite all the creepy mansion eye candy I adore in gothic films. Wish they had cast a better female lead. I'm OUT! :(
He is really cute and CREEPY as Hell! :o
This show feels like a young adult novel, but I still really enjoy it. Are some of the women flaky air heads? Yes. But Joe's strange stalking behaviors and obsession make you want to follow along to see what he will do next. He seems like a sweet, over-looked kinda guy, but he has SO MANY dark secrets and with each episode you realize how screwed up this young man really is. And some of the darker scenes weirdly, are kinda comical at the same time, but it doesn't distract from the overall darkness that is the heart and mind of Joe. :)
TRUE Silence of the Lambs fans will be underwhelmed! :(
I really wanted to like this, and was excited to see what they would do with this story, but after 2 episodes I just found it trite. She's no Jodi either, I was barely able to stomach Julianna Moore in the 2nd movie as Clarice. This just feels forced and despite all the Creepiness they filled it with, nothing is more Creepy than Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal and the young, strong-willed Clarice portrayed by Jodi Foster with just the right touch of innocence and backbone.
Prodigal Son (2019)
Enjoyed it at 1st, but then just kinda lost interest.
I watched this for Michael Sheen, but then as episodes went on, I just found it unbelievable that a serial killer would be allowed so much access. And his ex-wife just bugs me ALOT. Like is she in on it? Or is she just really that shallow and checked out? And then Sheen's over the top performance was more like a creepy clown that want's to eat small children for lunch and it just started to turn me off more and more. Some may enjoy this, but having been alone in a room with a REAL Serial Killer 6 months before he was arrested, I find this show to be too much silliness. :(
Hot priest chasing EVIL with a mom and a tech guy.
I really do like this show, but I question the parenting skills of this Mom who leaves her kids with the Grandma, who I'm pretty sure is Evil incarnate. :O I really liked the episode with the virtual reality goggles the kids used, it was super CREEPY! I could do without all the screaming and chattering over each other from the kids. But I guess this would be realistic in a house where the kids ignore the rules, the selfish and reckless Grandma ignores the rules to keep the kids safe, and the mom and dad are both checked out worried more about their careers than a ton of kids they chose to have. A lot of temptation going around, that is Not good for any of the characters involved. I'm still looking forward to season 2. ;D.
Better Call Saul (2015)
Just one word: FABULOUS! :D
I first wondered if this spin off from Breaking Bad would be any good, as many spin-offs usually fail. But the acting, writing, directing, characters, situations, just EVERY THING about this show is So WELL DONE! And even the music is Fabulous. Long Live Saul Goodman! Hooray!!! :D. A MUST WATCH for Breaking Bad fans and EVERYONE Else Too!!
The Alienist (2018)
Sadly Dakota Fanning's performance made this Suck! :(
I had read this novel years before this series. I am a fan of Dakota Fanning, but unfortunately her performance was boring and lackluster. They could have dressed a mannequin in a Victorian dress and put her on wheels to move around and I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between the mannequin and Dakota. I gave up by 3rd episode and am not surprised this series didn't have a very long run. I've seen much better shows cancelled faster than this one. Too bad, it could have been really great, so I have to wonder if it's the directors fault and not Dakotas.??? :O.
Should be called: Don't watch this Stupid Movie! :o
I watched this for the cool, creepy house, only reason you see 2 stars instead of zero above. The acting was not very good, the story just got more and more stupid as it went along. Cliché bad horror choices, Like insisting on sticking around, instead of running for your life when things start getting weird and creepy. Pass on this, could have been interesting, but skipped on straight to stupid and unbelievable. :(
The Narrow World (2017)
Loved this sci-fi short film. As other reviewers mention there is something deeper going on.
Saw this a few years ago and just loved it. So much better than all the big budget re-hashed garbage put out by big studios. You have to REALLY pay attention to the main character or you will miss the point. The idea of this alien and its concept are wonderful and then heartbreaking. You may need to watch a few times for the pieces to fall into place. Glad to see someone out there is trying to make something that makes you think instead of spoon feeding the meaning to the viewers. Hope to see more great films like this.
Things Heard & Seen (2021)
Classic 70's style old school, slow burn ghost thriller.
If you want 300mph pacing and ridiculous gore fest, then this is NOT for you.
This was a nicely done thriller with supernatural aspects and discussion of art and Heaven and Hell. Chock full of great actors you will recognize like F. Murray Abraham and Karen Allen. It's an enjoyable slow moving dark, moody and spooky movie with some last minute irony. I'm a 70's kid so I liked it reminds me of 70's movies like (1972) The Other and (1976) Burnt Offerings. If you like those 2 movies, you may very well enjoy this movie too. ;D.
Norwegian Fargo! Chock full of Nutty characters! ;D
Love this series, has the craziness and nutty, dark and dangerous characters just like the US Series Fargo. Great actors and some serious situations, and a Whole Lotta interesting scenarios, nothing is as it seems! Love all the actors, especially the kid. Can't wait for next season. ;D
A warning for animal lovers, has frequent animal deaths and prep (which was sad to watch).
HILARIOUS FUN!! Hahahahaha The END is NIGH!!!! :O
Been waiting like 2 years for this. So much Fun for the whole family and The Dog is a Star!! :D I remember reading books about this happening as a kid, and now with all our tech reliance, this is a fun way to see how Screwed we will ALL be in the VERY NEAR future!! Better watch it now, BEFORE it becomes OUR REALITY! ;D.
Made for Love (2021)
Interesting and weird, love Ray's gal! ;D
This caught me off guard, it was a fun and twisted little watch with some funny and sweet moments. But the idea of that being done without consent to someone is frightening to think of, considering all those thirsty social media gals who would have been happy to let this be done to them with their consent. Worth a watch if you want something different than the usual tv fare. :D.
I HATE sports, but LOVE COACH Fox and his gang! ;D
Love this show back in the day, Coach Fox, Luther and Dauber are as hilarious as the 3 stooges were. They play off of each others stupidity, but this show has a lot of heart too. Good show to re-watch and make you LOL! :D.
New in Town (2009)
Love the characters in this weird little comedy! :D
Renee, as usual can do anything and this whole town is gonna Muck up all her initial plans in the funniest ways. Put the sweater on girl. Ha hahaha. Full of great and hilarious small town characters and great actors too. I normally don't care for the romance genre, but this movie has a heart and Harry Connick Jr is a doll. Worth a watch ;D.
A Shock to the System (1990)
Caine is Super Spooky! :O
Love Michael Caine and loved this movie when I watched it back in the day. He is so creepy and devious in this. Worth at least a 1 time watch from his fans.
Heartbreaking and Lovely, based on a true story, get your kleenx out.
Found this by accident, and this little animation set me off to find out more about the real Nigel. I liked the animation style, but really could have done without the full frontal. LOL That could turn off some viewers from letting kids watch it.
Very well done otherwise, a bit strange, but it enlightened me to the true heartbreaking story of the real Nigel on which it is based. My heart literally hurts as I had a little wild cottontail rescue who would snuggle up and kiss a concrete bunny statue in my office when I would let her run loose.
Animals are just so lovely and often so tragic, like a Bronte novel.
My Wife and Kids (2001)
The Colonoscopy episode with Lou Rawls is the MOST HILARIOUS EVER!!! ;D
Love Damon Wayans and Trisha Campbell in this show, they have great chemistry and comedic timing.
I can't believe they got Lou Rawls to play the Doctor for the colonoscopy episode. It is PERFECTIION and will make you laugh till your face and sides hurt. The song is the cherry on top and gotta give that dancing, sassy nurse a shout out too. Wonderful retro show to rewatch during this pandemic if you wanna laugh for a change. :D.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
Season 4 is off to an Edge of your Seat Start! :O
Love Margaret Atwood and loved the original book. This is 1st time I've seen a series from a novel done so well other than maybe The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, and GOT. But those 3 were based on a series of books and this is based on just 1 novel. So Bravo to the writers who turned it into a full series.
I was terrified when I read the book, decades ago. But watching this while Trump was in charge TERRIFIED ME BEYOND BELIEF. If this pandemic would have sterilized people while he was in charge, We would be living in Giliad today. And you can hate on my comment all you want, But YOU KNOW IT's TRUE.
One of the Best running series on TV in last 5 years. The Pure Evil of the men in charge and a lot of the wives, and Aunt Lydia, is reminiscent of a lot of what we are seeing getting worse since 2016, with all the hate and violence. VERY SCARY.
Cruel Summer (2021)
Into episode 3 and I don't know who did what, so that's gonna keep me watching! :)
So far, really enjoying all the retro 90's vibe, clothes, music (Zombie from the Cranberries) and NO CELL PHONES. Jeez, makes me miss simpler times, when people talked to each other and made REAL FRIENDS. But I love that I really haven't guessed who did what and who is lying yet. Usually you guess pretty quick on most movies and tv shows. The young actors are pretty good too.
Reminds me of 1st season of The Sinner (also a Jessica beil show) I didn't guess that one early on either. Sadly the next 2 seasons of The Sinner went down hill. Can't wait for next episode of Cruel Summer. Worth a watch for sure. :D.
Extreme Sisters (2021)
If my cat suddenly grew 2 more heads, it would horrify me, I wouldn't be able to look away, but I would get my CAT to a VET ASAP!! :O
I normally HATE reality shows, but occasionally I find a Bizarro guilty pleasure and this maybe it for 2021. My 1st impression...The Perth Twins need a Shrink BAD!!
Sadly they are FULL ON MENTAL and Not in a good way. I was super thankful that the dentist has a moral and ethical compass and said NO to them. Guess either one sister will die from infection, or they will find a crack head on the street to get it done. I have no idea how anyone can be in a long term relationship with the Perth twins And even the duel sex novelty, would wear off from all the other insanity of EVERY thing those twins do. My God! The vacuuming scene and eating scenes were just too bloody crazy. What happens if one twin gets in an accident and is paralyzed, will the other twin paralyze herself on purpose? Sadly, Probably!!
Patrix and Patrica are the only ones so far that I can understand their closeness and mostly find it quite sweet that one sister would be super protective and helpful to the other who was born with most of her fingers missing on one hand and she helps raise the 3 boys. They were very cute and funny.
The 3rd set of sisters, that aren't twins, was also just full on creepy. Is the older sister ready to throw away a lovely husband and father of her kids over that whole creepy bedroom situation??? Like I said, this show is Bizarre enough to potentially be my 2021 guilty pleasure. :o.
Fear Thy Roommate (2020)
Remember, No Good Deed Goes Unpunished! :O One of the Better done true crime shows.
Recently got addicted to this true crime show. The re-enactments are half decently acted and I've never heard of any of these cases before. I was surprised at how quickly things escalated in most of these cases to full on evil-hatred. :o Yeah, I've had a few roommates in the past, but didn't last long cause I can't live with slobs and inconsiderate people either. I left long before I had an urge to kill them. ;O The lesson I learned was don't invite people to move into your house, cause much to our horror if they don't wanna leave, you are screwed, even if you own the house. (which I find surprising and wonder why there are not laws in place that allow you to get them out ASAP if they are trashing your place, not paying any rent, food or utilities and especially when they become threatening and violent.) If they would make some decent laws regarding these living situations, A lot less people would be dead and a lot of future deaths could be avoided.
