Barely watchable (there may be spoilers)
1 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
For modern audiences this movie is barely watchable. Aside from the obvious historic/scientific inaccuracies (if you don't know them there is no point in me explaining them) the special effects are horribly dated and the storyline is so simple they had to fill time with scenes of fights with animals or escapes from animals that really don't add to the plot and remark the inaccuracies in this movie. I watched it because of Raquel Welch and found the delightful Martine Beswick a further pleasure to watch but other than that there is not much to recommend. 4/10 because of Raquel's famous bikini.

Political correctness trumps good storytelling - stay away don't watch
14 May 2022
The producers of (hesitate to call it Star Trek) Discovery have placed political correctness and "diversity" on top of a good story telling. As many Hollywood productions defining the characters is more important than making a good script, As others in their reviews say, season 1 was ok, season 2 not so much, its only redemption being the return of Captain Pike, who saves (really saves) the day; season 3 was barely watchable and I gave up on season 4, I don't care for the story anymore. Strange New Worlds, while suffering from the wokeness of the new Trek seems to be doing a hell of a lot better job than Discovery. Hope it stays the course.

Sooo bad it may be fun
8 November 2021
If you want to laugh at what passed for a disaster movie with Lee Majors and Lauren Hutton watch this and enjoy the cheesiness. Maybe in 1983 the special effects were not so bad but in today's age of CGI they look so dated. That's not the worst. The acting is terrible, Lee Majors seems to be working under duress and when Lauren Hutton kisses him he does not seem to be kissing back... And i would not have been fooled by the story back then much less now. Anyway, you have been warned.

Racist? No
2 May 2004
I don't know guys, not being from the US this movie was just hilarious to me and my family. We could see the racist remarks and attitudes but it seemed to me they were all presented as "not the correct thing to do". In the end, all wrongs are righted and you see black and white living and working together in harmony. Steve Martin does his usual wonderful display of physical comedy (he is the best at that) and Queen Latifah, who we all found a very attractive woman, is very talented. She gets to match Martin in the facial expression contest and that is not an easy thing to do. If I have to criticize something is how stereotypically and predictably the movie ends. Other than that, very good family fun.

BAD MOVIE BEAUTIFUL AMANDA WYSS
31 March 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Yes, they all talk about the beautiful terrorist but Amanda Wyss is really the scene stealer in this otherwise BAD MOVIE. ++++ SPOILER ALERT ++++ Questions that merit an answer: 1) How can you believe they would use an SR71 carrying four people in a "cargo compartment" where all an SR71 has in that section of its body is a huge fuel tank? 2) How come everyone in the plane did not die horribly poisoned with the "biological weapon"? 3) How is it possible that Dudikoff, who did not know how to fly a plane, manages to land a 747 so smoothly and smack in the middle of the runway without any kind of coaching? For that matter, how is it possible that after going down to 10,000 ft because of decompression the plane was PERFECTLY aligned with the runway (how convenient) and Dudikoff only had to apply the brakes? For God's sakes, how did he know where the brakes were? 4) Don't people know that explosive decompression does not last forever - only while pressure equalizes inside and outside the plane - but the characters in this movie had to hold on for dear life even after a good 10 minutes had passed since the door had been opened...? And so on and so forth - if you took the time to read my comment forget about the movie (or watch it to catch a sight of beautiful Amanda Wyss...)

Holiday in the Sun (2001 Video)
Check out Atlantis
19 April 2003
I just rented this movie for my little girl, she is a fan of the Olsen's. I agree with most of the comments, the movie is BAAAAAAD, full of cliches and oh, so predictable... But the location is wonderful. Having been there (not stayed there yet, mind you) I wanted to discuss the Atlantis Resort with my family. Bad thing is you don't really get a good look of all the wonderful things the hotel has to offer but you get a pretty good idea of how wonderful the place is.

If only for that, this movie is worth seeing. If you are not interested in looking at a good place to take a vacation, don't bother sitting there for the 90 minutes or so the film lasts... the Olsens are not that great in this movie.

Good entertainment for fans of Miss Bernard
13 April 2003
I chased this movie in on-line auctions and finally got it. It is a must for fans of the beautiful Miss Bernard. As for entertainment value, I would give it a 7 out of 10; as for quality of content, well, the movie is kind of predictable and were it not for the beautiful miss Bernard and the interesting role of Mr. Reinhold it would be barely watchable. If you are a fan of Crystal Bernard, you really have to see it. If not, then approach with an open mind.
