Outer Banks (2020)
A copy paste of season 1
The second season felt like a deja-vu, presumably in an attempt from the creators to keep the show going but turned out into the show just repeating itself. The characters are true to themselves and consistent across the show, but the storyline and events are unrealistic, putting aside the fact that a show is a fiction.
If I flip a coin with each side representing a good and a bad outcome in a metaphor to a real adventure, usually, bad outcomes are less likely, but for the sake of illustrating my point, let's give both equal probability. Each scene happens to be similar a flip of a coin with a bad outcome turning up. The probability of having 10 bad outcomes in a row is ½^10 = 0.001. Of course, this is a perhaps a bad example (arguably) but that's what the second season felt like, a very unrealistic series of events, making the next one more unlikely every time. The worse that could happen happened all the time. A show that presents the audience with the worst situations in which the characters can find themselves in not "bad" per se, but when that outcome is 100% of the time totally predictable, that just tells the plot wasn't thought through well enough and is a rightful point of criticism.
The 5 star is only for the second season. I did like the first one, because of the setting, the original story and the acting which was often on point and appropriate and never felt too exaggerated. I feel like younger audiences will definitely enjoy it, but the first season initially like a good show for any type.
