Fantastic!
10 September 2013
First of all this movie really made me think about 'what is God?', 'are we in the right direction?' etc. Really I never thought a script can be so tightly written and without boring the viewers with simply 5/6 casts. The film moves all the time with the average speed.

The director has written the script just perfect. A well written screenplay is half success of the movie. This movie is no exception for that thumb rule.

Most of the casts are just perfect to their portions. And this should be really mentioned here that none of them have overdone their part. That is the most important thing in this type of movie with lots of argument and conversation.

I never thought a film can be captured in a single house without boring like this. Really a great team effort! I loved the movie a lot. I saw the movie 3 years ago, but still I remember the whole movie.

The Best for a reboot
18 June 2013
First of all, this could be the best Superman movie. Right from the costume everything is attractive. The acting of Henry, Shannon, Russel, Diane and Kevin are good. The story is straight forward but not the screenplay. It is directed by Zack Snyder, but still we feel the same touch of Nolan in Batman Begins.

Being a no super-hero fan and became a big fan of Batman by Nolan, I could not accept a super-hero with extraordinary powers like this. At times, the destruction made by Superman and Zod is very high. The scene where Clark attacks Zod for threatening his mother is awesome. Once again the cameo of Kevin Costner is superb.

Its being a superhero movie, we are not able to stoop comparing this with the other superheros. Thus this reboot has made the Superman to catch a position in top 5 superheros but definitely not the first, Batman is the ultimate

Worth a watch for the Graphics lovers
28 April 2013
Another Superhero movie who is trying hard to catch top listing like the Batman, Spiderman, Hulk, Superman etc. But what prevents from it is the making. Though apart from the Nolan's series of Batman even the same masked Bruce Wayne is a superhero who performs unbelievable things (may be thats why they are superheros)

Coming back to the movie, I just wonder if the script had enough depth in it. Characters like Pepper could have been done better. May be a bad choice of actor. The expectation on Mandarin is kept the movie going with the presence of a great actor. But it too went nothing when we saw Guy was the original brain behind it.

Now coming to the best part of the film, The graphics and stunts. It has been the best part like I said, because of the commitment of all the artist. But still once again another movie with a climax in a port and earth movers.

At the bottomline, Iron Man remains a Superhero. He will never become a legend like the Nolan's Batman.

A must-needed theme..

Warning: Spoilers
This film is good. But not like the previous one of Sasikumar where he himself took care of the direction department. Here, his friend Samuthrakani is the captain and he is an actor. This film speaks all about the increasing divorces in India with much commercial aspects

The plot runs like this... Karuna, Pandi and Chandran are very close friends who all are someway or the other waiting for their job. Karuna tries to be a government employee to marry his beloved Nallama. Chandran eyes on Karuna's sister. The movie goes pleasant until a schoolmate of Karuna arrives and attempts for suicide. Karuna and team learns the reason to be his failure to marry his beloved gal, as her millionaire dad is not willing and his mother too a leading politician not interested in the marriage. Karuna and friends rescues the couple and arranges for a honeymoon vacation. Karuna is hit in head, Pandi becomes deaf and Chandran looses his one leg in the operation. After a few days, they learn the couple are not mates anymore. When questioned, both are not even ready to give a reply. What will be the revenge of the Karuna team is the remarkable climax. Don't miss the competitive acting of Sasikumar & Bharani.

A very good performances from Sasi, Bharani (watch out his outstanding comics in first half and as a vengeance filled deaf in the later), Ananya, Abinaya, Jeyaprakash and Namo Narayana. Music is acceptable. But a couple of unneeded songs.

good message with a commercial value

Annamalai (1992)
this is called a commercial hit
22 September 2011
This movie is one of the all time favorite for Rajnikanth movies. This is the film which took the superstar to the next level. A good effort by him in acting department too. A simple and decent music by Deva. Very good laid screenplay and story. Thanks to Suresh Krishna.

The plot is all about the friendship and enmity between Annamalai (Rajnikanth) and his millionaire friend Ashok(Sharathbabu). Sharathbabu, Kushboo, Janakaraj are decent in their performance. A special mention is needed for Manorama and Radha Ravi. The film had the best commercial scenes that created chaos among the crowd.

A good commercial hit.

A worth watching... (thanks to Kikujiro)
22 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
First of all I thank Mysskin, at least for selecting Ilayaraja for the music division and the camera guy. The plot is very similar to Kikujiro. Its almost 70% the same.

This film is the story of two kids. One a real kid of school going age and the other is a mentally challenged 25 around aged kid. Both are in a travel of fining their mothers. First one want to kiss her and the later wanna slap her. What happened to their adventure is the remaining quest.

The moment film starts with a peacock feather's close-up.. its all the camera man Mahesh Muthuswamy and the Music maestro Ilayaraja. Who can feel music and pain can watch this movie. Not even an evident of commercial is in this movie. Just Mysskin, Muthu and Ilayaraja are the three equal pillars of this film.

It really pains (for the composer and even me too..) for not including all the songs in the album in the film, as all the songs were very pleasant to hear...

Although I enjoyed the film, I couldn't stop thinking about Kikujiro. That is the biggest disadvantage of this film. Its Muthu and Ilayaraja are the duo who are unique...

Light-hearts do not watch the climax
22 September 2011
The crew of the movie itself a great one to list down. K.B, Kamal Hassan, Sri Vidya, Revathy, Delhi Ganesh. Again, K.B proved he is a good screenplay writer than a director. I would call the movie to be a hit because of its screeplay. Second comes the performance of the actors.

Yet again, this film is a major hit in music. I would call this movie released in the golden period of Tamil cinema, where what ever Ilayaraja composed came out to be a music, rhythm what ever you call it as.

The plot is all about Sedhu (Kamal Hassan) and his couple of love stories. One with Rekha who is dead in a suicide attempt with Sedhu (ofcourse Sedhu escapes in a tragic way. You people should watch this scene. OMG... its out standing performance... Kamal Hassan brings out the real expression when his beloved is dead infront of him.. and he cant even die...). Then comes the love of Revathy. She is real cute and acted well.

And another character named Chaplin Chellappaa (played by Kamal again) is also good and comic. The scenes where he tries to make kids laugh are so nice. Simple and neat performance by Sri vidya.

Overall, the film is so enjoyable till the climax. Watch the unexpected climax. I would have given only 6.5/10 if the climax is 'subam'

my best Indian movie...
22 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
What a 3hr show by the crew. Kamal Hassan and Bharathan has done their home work very well. The script is flawless. As many has said, this movie is like a village based Godfather. Outline may resemble like that. But the story plot is different in many aspects.

Important things to be noted in the movie are the locations, BGM, dialogues with the peculiar language slang etc.,

I would call this to be the perfect acting by the veteran Shivaji Ganesan. This is different from his usual films which lacks reality in acting and more like a stage drama acting. Kamal hassan has done the best as always he does. Another couple of people to be mentioned for the acting are 'Kaakkaa' Radhakrishnan and Nassar. I still remember the acting of this man in the crew filled with masters. I think Nassar played an equal amount of natural acting just like Shivaji Ganesan. If I am awarded as a jury to pick an actor in the movie for his performance, I would go with Nassar.

Again, this film is a tank circuit of Kamal Hassan and the maestro Ilayaraja. I really don't know from were the later gets his music specially for Kamal Hassan. Anyone can watch the film with the eyes closed. BGM will narrate the entire plot. This film's BGM can be considered as an example for the upcoming youngsters.

PC Sriram, once again proved he is the best in business. Also the lyricist were equally good. You would never feel the songs as a disturbance in the movie. And the special song features the Tamilan's special martial arts "Silambattam" is too good.

I would really select this movie to be one of the all time favorite of Indian and International film. Do you people still want me to put any review points ?????

Sathyaa (1988)
a must-watch movie...
21 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of a milestone movie, which did not do the best at the box office. But still this film can be applauded for its screenplay, music and message to the society. The plot revolves around how Sathyamoorthy alias Sathyaa (played by the veteran actor Kamal Hassan) is betrayed and used by the local corrupt politicians.

Sathya is a educated, unemployed and middle-class family youth. He and his friends roam around the streets, hangs out at the nearby railways station, goes home at late night. They almost resembled the late 80s and early 90s unemployed youths of Tamil Nadu. Though are unemployed, they have a social involvement, which attracts the local corrupt politician (played by Kitty.. voiced by the well known singer SP Balasubramainum) and his assistant (Janakaraj). Sathyaa misunderstands them as good people and does everything that was assigned to him without any questions. After an event, he understands he has been used and played by the corrupts.. what he does as a payback is the rest of the movie... !!!

The plot seemed raw and well supported by the all time favorite music maestro Ilayaraja. Still this is the movie considered to be the best of Suresh Krishna.. who is very well known for making commercial movies only.

one of the best screenplay
20 September 2011
Murali is a village student who gets a medical seat in Chennai's well know medical college. I don't know why... we always loved Murali to be a college student. An many newly shifted village students, Murali is too having the complex of modernized dressing, communication etc., He gets attracted to Heera, a beautiful co-student. She has her own family burdens. Murali tries to express his love towards her, but fails every time. When she understands his love, he is not in a position to accept it. Watch the film for a real heart breaking love.

A special credit goes to the veteran Music maestro Ilayaraja. He scored the original and BGM for this movie. Music of this film was a sensation of the year. BGM was very much appreciated.

The scenes where Murali trying to propose makes us involved to such an extent that we are ready to speak to Heera for him. After a lot of encouragement from my friends I watched this movie... and I am not at all disappointed. My rating would be around 8 out of 10.

A worth-watching comedy from Kamal Hassan, Crazy and Mouli
19 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The plot revolves around Pammal (a place where the hero lives)K. Sambandham, movie stuntman and a doctor named Janaki. Both are not interested in love and marriage. First half revolves around Kamal Hassan's Chennai Tamil and related comedies. Crazy Mohan's dialog has to be mentioned here. Unless you hear them carefully you will not get the comedies. A well narrated comedy. A decent music of original score and BGM from Deva. Also well supported by the camera. A no-error performance from Abbas, Vaiyapuri, Rameshkanna, Manivannann, Charlie (the usual Kamal's men) and also from the two charming Simran and Sneha. A special mention needs for Sreeman, as he makes the couple of scenes which has played well. A good and neat job.
