This Is What Pilots Are Supposed To Be
This episode is very good. It has a very good character developement, very good narration and an incredible sense of reallity. It really catches a very specific tone in wich the plot is not supposed to mean something, instead its focused on the characters and their lives but it doesnt make it feel has a plot in wich the good moments are plot twists and developement. The fact that they did not reveal too much of the plot is great too and it gives more suspense than making a plot twist at the end of the episode. Anyway, the setting is great, the performances are perfect, the directions is really good and the visuals and sound design are very good too. I think its a very great way to introduce a plot and characters.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Hero (2019)
I Dont Know How AOT Does It
When we thought that couldnt get more epic than Erwin's heroic charge, we where wrong. Its really hard to think that Erwin's charge was only a setup for those even more epic moments. Whats even more incredible is that this episode has not only 1 epic moment but 3 of the most epic moments ever! Levi's rage against the beast titan, Armin's sacrifice and Eren's suprise attack. I dont personally think anime gets any better than this.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Perfect Game (2019)
One Of The Most Epic Thing Ever
This episode is godlike. Its because of episodes like this that AOT is this good. Its not only the final moments of it that are good but the intire thing. Definitly one of the best tv episode ever made.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Final Selection (2019)
Its Ok, but its overrated in my opinion
This episode is good. It has some great fight strategy and a little level of epicness. But the pacing seems extremely off track to me. One of the creatures is really too much over the top. And the fight scenes really seem cheap.
Fight Club (1999)
The Ultimate Rule Breaker
Fight Club is without a doubt one of the most unique movies ever made. Its perspective on society is very accurate in its point of view. Even though anyone could say that its philosophy is partialy wrong and I don't think anybody could argue that it is not. The way it ends is also extremly special in the fact that its hard to tell if its the bad guys or the good guys that won. Its hard for us to know if we are supposed to rule or not for a character like Tyler Durden. The final twist is extremely good and its presented in a very unpredicted way. This movie is like somebody with a mental dissorder. Everything is chaotic, brutal, controversial and suddent. Most of these things are in part because of David Fincher's direction. Its direction is simply flawless, there not a single error in the direction! And it might seem like it is fully flawed when you look on its surface but if you look closer you always find out that it has no error! It has so many things you can talk about and so many easter eggs reffering to the ending which makes it extremely rewatchable. The performances are some of the best cinema has ever seen. Its awesomeness in its puressed form!
I have to say that I did not really like this movie. Sure, the camera angles were really good. Along with the music and the special effects. But what really bothered me was that the story was too simple and too childish. The characters did not have enough development and there wasn't any good twists, in fact there wasn't any! The story was much too simple for a specialy long trilogy. Its also hard to tell if the acting was good because the director didn't seem to make situations where the actors could actually give a performance, the characters wheren't developed enough for the actors to know what to do, the script seems to have been pourly written and the director made it feel like actors where doing a play. Wich is not what a movie is! So what really carries the movie is its outstanding special effects, visuals and costumes. If it was not for those it wouldn't be a good movie.
Very good movie, filled with drama, comedy, romance and good life lessons. The actors are really good, specialy for the roles they play. The ending is very good and the idea behind the movie is great. Overall really well made and very good movie.
There are movies that are good but not too enjoyable, there are the movies that are enjoyable but not too good and there are the movies that are good and enjoyabe at the same time. This one is defitnitly enjoyable and good at the same time. The acting is awsome, the dialog is extremely good, it has some really funny moments has well has osme really dramatic moments. It gives you a pretty good life lesson while entertaining you. The soundtrack is really good, it has so many good songs and they are placed right where they should be. Its one of the best crime movies there is.
The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Would Not Work Alone
This movie is really good, obviously the best star wars movie. But it would not be has good has it is if the other star wars movies did not exist. Star Wars episode 4 helped a lot by introducing the characters and the universe. The drama is great, the acting was ok, the character developement is awsome, the fight scenes are ok and the rest is really well done. For sure Star Wars episode 4 was essential to the sucess of this film, but it still has to be recognized for how good it is.
Schindler's List (1993)
Its a very good emotional movie. The human nature and behavior is very well portrayed troughout and it really accomplishes what its trying to do. Even if the runtime is long there is not a lot of moments that I feel could be erased from the movie. Its really well made and it deserves the recognition it has.
12 Angry Men (1957)
This movie is a very good example of what a good director can do with so little. Just the fact that everything happens in the same room is impressive. The details of the crime is only discussed, but it seems even more intterresting than if we would of actually seen it on screen. The characters are all played very well, the dialog is pretty good and the camera work is also really impressive for and its time! Everything combined, this movie is simple but very good.
The Godfather Part II (1974)
Just Like The First Movie
The Godfather part II is just like the first one, its good for what it is. It has some very good drama elements, trahisons, sad moments and complete story. Very well acted and it has quite a lot of reallism into it and I think the ending of this movie was just good enough to express what the writters wanted to portay. It portayed very well and it accomplished what it wanted to.
The Godfather (1972)
A Very Good Crime Drama
The Godfather is one of those movies that is good only for what it is. Some very dramatic moments, good dialog, some good romance, likable characters and a complete story. Its an overall very good film but not the most rewatchable in my opinion.
Gone Girl (2014)
The Embodiment Of Psychological Thriller
Psychological thrillers are made to mess with your mind, and in some case they succeed. But nothing ever messed with me more than Gone Girl. The movie starts in a very mild and secure way. It introduces the characters on their good side. But the more it moves on, the darker it gets, the more tensed it gets and the more it messes with you. I think its one of the best character developement in cinema's history. The camera shots are impressive, the actors facial expressions are intense and disturbing. One of the most powerful aspect of this movie is that its hard to imagine any of whats going on. Many movies have things in common, but this one doesnt have a lot in common with any other movies. The characters are impressively unique and the plot is almost unthinkable to my opinion. The twists are so frequent that you never have time to breath. Like a lot of other David Fincher movies, it introduces you to a fake safe environement and slowly drags you into a much more dark and tensed one. And all of this very subtly. An other quality that this movie and other Fincher movies have is that you can rarely tell what is going to happend, its one of the reasons why its so hard to look away while watching this movie. The structure of the film was really well made so that it didnt need a plot twist ending. It is one of the most unique movie ever made and I strongly recommend it to dark movies fan.
Not Even Funny
Ok, the film has some good actors and great camera work but it doesnt have anything supporting the film. Some scenes have something funny but nothing too hilarious. The acting was bad, the humor was ok, its has to many stupid moments and useless shootouts. I do not recommend this movie to someone that appreciate the art of film making.
Barry Lyndon (1975)
The Most Powerful Movie ever Made
This is simply a masterpiece. Each of Kubrick's film has a statement about humanity and life. Barry Lyndon is not the exception. In fact, I think this is the most powerful statement made by Kubrick, no, by movies! Never before nor after did a film express how a life can change so much trough time and how other value your life has it changes because of your surroundings. It expressed that selfishness can destroy other peoples lives, the power of forgiveness, the sadness of death. It also expressed the passage of time on each and every human being, having lived a wealthy life or not, being selfish or not, no matter our age that death can reach everyone of us and that we should live our life the in the best way possible. Those are only Kubrick's work. The acting was incredible! Some of the actors didnt say a word for the intire movie and still made us understand all the emotions that they where going through. It is also one of the best looking movie of all time, some people even describe it has an animations of painting. The music, was incredible, all those classic music pieces joined together made an ocean of emotions. This is certainly the most powerful movie anyone can see, it is awsome and like a flew of emotions it goes trough your brain to make you enter the fabulous mind of Stanley Kubrick,
The Shining (1980)
Has Perfect Has A Movie Can Get
This is certainly one of the most well made movies of all time. The subtle details all present trough almost every scene. The camera shots are extremly stunning, from the very first shot of the movie to the very last one. There are so many different elements that support different theory about the real meaning of the film that you can believe any of these explenaitions. The film is thematicly intense and scary at points. Kubrick also understand that you dont need to kill a lot of people for the film to be scary. The real reason why its scary is because of the tension built troughout the movie. The plot developement, the pacing, the soundtrack and all the other elements of the film were perfect. We also have to talk about the acting. Jack Nicholson gave one of top 10 acting performances of all time, from his facial expressions to his incredible quotes he was stunning! Shelley Duvall disapeared behind her character, she played it perfectly. Danny Lloyd! He gave THE BEST child actor performance of all time! Has much has adult actors are really good, he gave probably a top 50 acting performances regardless of the age! Stanley Kubrick always made masterpieces, and this movie is not the exception. I would even say its top 10 movies of all time.
The Best Western.
Has a big movie fan I try to be impartial when I rate films. But the western genre isnt my favourite. I think most of those films are almost the same. But this film was different. The acting was awsome, and the thing I enjoy the most about western films is all that you can see a lot when you are looking at the actors faces. For example when Tuco is following Blondie's trail, he finds multiple, dead cigars untill he finds one that still have fire in it, and at that moment you can see the joy on his face because he knows hes close. And this is truly amazing! That last duel in the end is the best cowboy duel the world ever saw. Its a amazing sequence of face and body language acting. Just the moment Angeleye try to go for his gun and Blondie gives him that one look and he moves his and away. Just this one small moment shows how got the performance and the script was. Talking about this movie without talking about Ennio Morricone's music would be a sin. This is probably has perfect has a movie soundtrack can get. We could spend hours talking about just the music. This is a masterpiece in all its aspects. Its one of the best movies ever made.
Quite A Ride!
This film is not only the best shark movie, its also one of the best of all time all genres mixt. Everybody knows this film has the scary shark movie, but its in fact a lot more. First, one of the main reason why this film was so much better than its sequels is because of the characters. The character developement was extremly good. Not to mention the acting, the dialog and this fairly reallistic shark! From start to finish this movie is perfect in its reallism. And we have to mention John Williams awsome music! He owns 40% of this film. In fact, when a theme is this much parodied and used in other movies you can tell its that good. Jaws is and will always be the icon of the shark.
The Thing (1982)
This is for sure one of the best horror films ever made. The acting was really good, and i noticed that some of the characters acted kind of irrationaly or had some irregular habits. But in this case it has an explenation. People in this movie are scientists in antarctica, so im pretty sure if you lived on a scientific base in antarctica, you would probably act a little diffrent than other people. You can really feel the shifting of emotions trough the acting. First you can feel them relaxed, playing games and talking, and then you feel the anxitey rise trough their faces has the movie moves on. And this is something really unique to this film. The concept is so good and so well portayed. It is a lot different than other horror concept and it makes you feel a lot more emotions. The antarctica base is really well portrayed has an environement. And a lot of this is due to the fact that when they shot the movie, they actually changed the temperure of the site to 28 F degrees, which made it very accurate. Ennio Morricone's music in this movie is... Awsome! The way the movie begins is extremly suspenseful, but its a lot due to the opening title. Just that title alone is terrifying, suspenseful, cold... you can just feel the antarctica trough it. The film is also pretty reallistic, especially if you think about how non reallistic it could be. For sure The Thing is a science fiction horror classic and it still holds up has one of the most well made film of all time.
Blade Runner (1982)
The Ultimate Dirty Future
I love Blade Runner. It dives into a realistic future with realistic characters, dialog, layouts and events. In fact, this whole movie is really good in the matter of looking like a live video of whats really happening there. The way some questions are left unanswered makes look like it was not presented to an audiance, but its a real thing. The philosophy of this film makes you wonder what is the distinction of being human, or what is the point of life. And this very idea was executed in a very good way. Of course, to me Ridley Scott is the best director for reallism, and this film is a very good example why. Of course the acting was really good and the camera work was pretty good also. One thing i appreciate a lot about this movie is the way you can feel the dirtiness of 2019 Los Angeles. Yes, the way we feel the environement is very important to world building because then we are a lot more invested in the movie and can understand events a lot easier. And it is especialy important with films as ambiguous has Blade Runner. I would say that Blade Runner is a masterpiece in its own way.
Movies have always had a certain point of perspective or a certain ressemblance, but not Parasite. Its like nothing else before, its not only a comedy, its also a horror, drama and a thriller with a great message behind it. The acting is good i feel, but of course i cant tell perfectly because i dont understand Korean. The reason this movie is good is because of its spontaneous and ambiguity. Film writters often do films where they answer all the question in your asking yourself about the story. But in those case, you watch the movie and you dont really think about it afterwards because often those answer are boring or too simple. But in this case, the film is good because it dives into something relatively ordinary but always make you wonder if there is something more to it. The way the events occur are nothing like any other movie. It has a marvelous ending with full of sense. I really like the way the director portrays the simple emotions of life and the class of society. If you are open to new ideas and new way of looking at a story you may like Parasite.
The Scariest Script Ever Written
This movie is one of the scarriest ever made, and for many reason. First, the very good acting made the characters be a part of the story, it made them fully invested in the story. Second, the dialog and the continuity of the scenes are extremly reallistic. Third, the layout of the environement where most of the events are happening is so extremly scary! Fourth, you can really feel the environement! You feel cold when its dark and raining, and if there is a character eating a sandwich, you feel like you are the one eating it! All those small details make this movie a masterpiece of acting, script, direction and camera work. This movie has also one of the best ending, and now i can see where this movie inspired a lot of the movies we see today. This an awsome masterpiece and it is scary has hell!
The Village (2004)
Good Has An Idea, But Not Has Good Has A Film.
Ok, lets say things, M. Night Shyamalan is a good director and he prouved it with movies like Unbreakable and he has the art of direction. But this movie is not very good. Errors were made by basicly everyone that worked on this movie. The acting was really bad on a general note. Even actors like Sigourney Weaver that we know gave good performance in the past in movies like Alien, gave a bad performance here. The best performance in the whole movie was Joaquin Phoenix and his character was K. O. most of the movie. The character developement was really bad, in fact the characters hardly had anything that made them interresting. And again the one character that was pretty interresting was Lucius Hunt wich obviously was half dead most of the time. The plot developement was ok untill this one phrase was said: "Sometimes we dont do things so other people dont know we want to do them." That moment sold the plot ending, it became so obvious that I guessed almost every detail of it. Plus the dialog was boring, it had nothing reallistic, it was senseless. Especialy the scenes where somebody was crying, it was so unreallistic that it could become a prime example of bad acting. All this being said i enjoyed the idea behind the movie that money generaly only causes problem and how we can be happy without it, by simply living in a equal society. So even if i have a lot of respect for M. Night Shyamalan this movie had a good idea, but it was executed badly.
No Country for Old Men (2007)
A Fantastic Dialog Masterpiece
This is the Cohen brothers Masterpiece and its an underrated movie. The dialog is extremely good. The quotes are funny, scarry and deep in meaning. The movie is what i could say raw, by the sense that there is hardly any music or emotions but you can tell those emotions if you look close enough in the actors faces. This is probably one of the main reason why some people dont like it, but if i can say to those people a word, i would say stop watching and try to understand the bigger meaning. The way the scenes transit to each other is very special. They cut a scene leaving you to ask questions but they don't answer them. Its a good example that we don't need to know everything in a movie for it to be good. Everything in this movie has hardly never been done anywhere else before. The acting performance is also stunning. The ending powerfully portays how life is not fair and how we should not expect it to be. This is one of the best message transmited trough script in history of films. This is surely one of the best movie script ever written.
