One of the most incredible character studies to ever grace cinema!
This movie had me engaged from the get go, largely because of the stellar, Oscar winning performance given by Joaquin Phoenix. Joaquin has done a fair few character studies in his time but now as the crowd favourite Joker, it certainly tops them all.
The film grips you tightly and doesn't let go as you watch in awe of this human being, trying to make it through the anfractuous day to day life of someone battling with mental health issues in a not so pleasant society that abandons those who can't stand up for themselves.
The filmography and score more than any dc film before, capture the grittiness of this old timey, New York-esque, Gotham City, at it's height of decline and pre Batman.
This movie is a must see for any film, acting or composition enthusiast!
