Another Life (2019)
Good, but same flaw as SG Universe and ST Discovery
The moment that you anchor you deep space mission to social issues back home, it becomes a lot less Sci-fi for some reason. I think this has to do with the immersion of the story, especially when the story has a few paths of which some take place on earth.
To refer to StarGate Universe, the "Stones" destroyed it for me. The crew being able to go back home, gave less of a "we are lost" vibe. Another Life tried something similar, with the alien artifacts.
The next issue is a similar issue to ST Discovery. It is just not very plausible that emotionally unstable people are in control of a space mission and craft, critical to the the survival of planet (or universe). Chances are it would be more military and there would be an obvious chain in command. Of course Niko does her best, but she is challenged too much.
The last issue is focus. You are in a hostile environment. Attention would be on what's out there, not on personal issues. The human race tends to work together on mutual treats. When those are resolved, they return to bickering amongst each other.
Star Trek: Picard: Farewell (2022)
Enjoyable but WTF?
I am not going into the storyline of Season 2. It was enjoyable and I loved seeing the old characters again.
What I do have an issue with is the Borg. This change breaks the entire canon of Star Trek. Every episode that has been with the Borg is not going to happen like that. This outcome breaks Voyager mostly. But also the battle between the Federation and the Borg and therefore breaks DS9.
It would have been better is they created the "new" borg as a new faction.
