great little film/great director
4 February 2007
This film was a great little thriller. It held ones attention until the end and then caught me off guard when I thought I knew the end. The writers and the director show great promise in their future films and I certainly will be looking forward to the next film by this accomplished young director. The director is skilled as well as innovative in this film. I have watched the film several times to catch even more detailed aspects after watching the entirety to get the overall effect. The only drawback was the lead character who was too stilted in his performance, but was really excellent in the fight scene. His physical features did lead to the mystery of the film. He just did not have enough personality. The three other actors did a great job in their performance especially the male friend of the lead character who was an absolute natural. I hope to see this new actor in future films by the director and writers that I know they will continue to provide for us. Keep Neil in all the movies where possible is a suggestion for the director ; He is really that good. The young actress,Marta, was such a delight, a breath of fresh air in several ways: personality, natural acting ability, fresh approach, mysterious and a beautiful young woman. There is some mystery about the Maitre'D. She seems to have good acting technique and we might need to see her full potential recognized in future films. The choreography and stunts were exceptional and the make-up effects by Greg Nicotero were very professional as in all his great movies. This young writer/director has a great future in horror films or any films since this short movie also had romance and illuminating (made-up or real) historic information. Just a great short film as the preview for coming work by the director/ writer Aaron Morgan.
