Is this the greatest episode of "Family Guy" ever?

With two stories, both worthy of being their own episodes, "Family Guy" dives into a more sophisticated brand of adult humour. Although not the funniest episode I can recall, it really shows other adult cartoons like the simpsons and "King of the Hill" that there's a new kid on the block, and he's good.

If there was an award for the most sentimental moment in television cartoon history, the end of this episode should, in my opinion, win hand's down. With a Primetime Emmy winning song, "You've Got A Lot To See," and acclaim from some tough critics it's apparent that, as television shows go, this is the best of the best.

Proof that it never went downhill

If the fact that they managed three strong story-lines interlinking doesn't impress you, then the smart jokes, great writing and - last but by no means least - Chandler's speech most certainly will. Never before or after has a sitcom brought me so close to tears.

Despite Monica and Phoebe being quite annoying during the episode, the rest of the cast played their parts perfectly, including those outside the group of six. Though Rachel's part was the definitely smallest, she pulled off her part beautifully. The introduction of new character was a nice touch as it was apparent from the end of the episode that Erika would be with the group for a few more episodes. In conclusion, this was a great episode and the makers should be proud of it, despite what people say about "Friends" going downhill towards the end.

Family Guy: Wasted Talent (2000)

Masterful

In the face of over a hundred episodes "Wasted Talent" shines through as, in my opinion, the greatest "Family Guy" episode ever. With a story-line that starts off with a brilliant spoof, the best of it's kind, and leads on to a climactic finish with plenty of action, laugh-out-loud funny jokes and amazing music, as always. What Seth & Co. have done is turn a show already brimming with excellence into a guideline for how adult cartoon comedy should be done.

This kind of episode makes it perfectly clear that "Family Guy" is not only the funniest show on television but the best too, of course, that's just my opinion.
